Giantex Portable Compact Full-Automatic Laundry 8 lbs Load Capacity Washing Machine Washer/Spinner W/Drain Pump

I am absolutely in love with this little washer. I have used it quite a few times before I decided to write a review, my parents bought this for me as a gift because I was sick of going to the laundry room in my building to wash. I had to go to Home Depot and purchase a longer hose and adapter that will fit my faucet and it works perfectly. If you use commonsense you will not have any issues, A word of advice is less is more. Do not overload because this will cause damage to this machine. It clearly states that this is used for light to medium loads. This is perfect because it is just my son and myself and I try to keep my laundry at a minimum and spread out the number of loads. The water pressure is awesome, it is extremely powerful yet it is very quiet at the same time. The price was amazing and I'm super glad that we went with something that has a drain pump therefore avoiding having to lift or move the hose to drain the water. The spin dry is awesome as it gets about 95% of the water out of my clothes. As much as you may want to load more into this little machine keep in mind this is less than half the size of your normal washer. Less is more! Would definitely purchase again!

I want to give this machine 4.5 stars but that isn't a choice. Overall, the machine is great but it definitely had a learning curve for me and I am usually very handy. I also have a few concerns about some of the other reviews, which I relied heavily on with making a decision to purchase this unit. It came packaged securely and was easy to assemble the bottom panel. Like other viewers, I did vacuum out all the loose Styrofoam pieces so they wouldn't later end up inside the parts of the machine somehow. As soon as I unpacked the machine and got it ready to install to my kitchen faucet with the Danco 10512 Garden Hose Adapter, 55/64-Inch 27 Female x 3/4-in GHTM, Chrome which I purchased based on another reviewer suggestion, I found this 10512 adapter did not sit very deep and securely into the water inlet hose. It fit perfectly onto my faucet but due to a smaller end that goes into the hose and the way the hose is designed, it was almost impossible to connect to the hose. So off to the local hardware store I go to find a more suitable adapter. This adapter Danco 10513 Danco 10513 15/16"-27M / 5/64"-27F X 3/4" GHTM or 55/64"-27M Multi-Thread Garden Hose Aerator Adaptor, Chrome (see photo) works so much better and seals tightly to both the hose and the kitchen faucet.

Hooked the machine up and ran a short wash with a tiny bit of liquid detergent and a quick rinse to get the pungent smell out of the machine (hopefully). The drain hose u-shaped elbow device that is meant to hang the drain hose over the sink was useless on my kitchen sink because my sink is not at the very edge of the counter top but sits back a little further. The u-shaped elbow is not very large allowing it to hang into my sink as designed. Therefore, I removed the u-shaped elbow and just tied the drain hose to the water inlet hose with twist ties. (see photo) I will eventually try to find something to easily clamp/unclamp the drain hose to the water hose when in use or just use a zip tie to hold them together to ensure the hose doesn't go flying out of the sink when draining and spinning.

Everything looked fine, so I grabbed some laundry. Some of the other reviewers may be exaggerating a little about how much you can actually fit into this machine and expect it to be cleaned properly. I was able to fit maybe a 1/3 to 1/2 of a load that would fit into a normal older style top loading machine, which is fine for me since I am single. Then starts the issue of water flowing onto my floor and I was not pleased with that. My floor is tile so it was really no big deal except that it was a lot of water and pretty inconvenient. This didn't happen the first time I ran the rinse cycle mentioned above so needless to say I was concerned. After some tedious troubleshooting, I figured out what the issue was. I have really strong water pressure and if the water pressure is on too strong, the water tends to go into the machine too fast and erratic and drip onto the lip of the top of the tub. (see photos) The lip is not very thick and the water was filling up the drain hole at the top of the tub faster than it could drain back into the tub, hence overflowing onto my floor. I think Giantex could make this lip around the top of the tub a little thicker/higher to avoid this from happening so easily. After resolving this issue by turning my water pressure way lower and allowing the machine to fill slower, all was good.

The clothes washed great and the rinse and spin cycles are wonderful. The clothes came out damp and not sopping wet. I then tried to wash my queen size sheets and found that I really only felt comfortable washing the flat and fitted sheets together with no pillowcases or even better yet, wash the flat sheet separately with 2 of my pillowcases and the fitted sheet separately with my other 2 pillowcases. It just seemed to be overloaded with the entire sheet set in the machine. I think I read someone saying they could fit a quilt into this machine, but I don't see that happening. I ended up doing about 6 additional loads and everything works seamlessly now. I haven't washed towels yet so I am not sure how many bath towels will fit in a single wash. However, I did run a second spin cycle on one load and the clothes came out even more dry than before, which would probably work great for towels or heavier items that take a long time to dry.

Lastly, I also purchased this appliance dolly, Stalwart Adjustable Sized Telescopic Furniture Dolly Roller which I read fits perfectly. Au contraire mon ami! The smallest this dolly would go was still almost too large for the machine to set on without falling through the middle. I have a very small apartment and need the dolly to be exactly the same size as the washer. I took a hacksaw and shortened all four rods to the length needed to allow the dolly to shrink and fit snugly under the machine. Now all is great and the washer on the dolly fits snugly in its resting place and still fits under my countertop.

Overall, I am extremely happy with this washer after doing about 7 loads of laundry thus far. My suggestions would be to do more research on the adapters to fit your specific faucet because it would appear the provided water hose will not fit any sink in the USA - maybe if you are hooking it to a regular washing machine/laundry hookup, it would work fine. Also, do not turn the water pressure on full blast unless your floors need to be mopped and then you can just kill two birds with one stone. Haha! Additionally, if you want to purchase a dolly, try to find one that will shrink to a smaller size more suited for this machine unless you have a hacksaw to shorten the poles on the model mentioned above.

Very much a happy camper with my little R2D2 washing machine (see photo) save the few insignificant and minor design flaws. I hope this washer lasts a long time and makes me proud.

Love this little machine! My first impression when I took it out of the box was, "how cute!" It is small, but is exactly what I needed. Have done dozens of loads in the past month catching up on all the laundry I had been hand washing. Ideal for trailer living. It does a phenomenal job of cleaning and spin drying. Much quieter than I would have expected. I did have to purchase an adapter for the kitchen faucet and a longer hose, but that is to be expected any time you have a portable appliance of this type, so why people complain about that, is beyond me. I found it helpful to elevate this little machine by using 4 cinder blocks, which was cheap and easy. Because it's small, you have to be careful not to overload with too much or it will throw it off balance. A little common sense goes a long way. The price is better than any comparable machine and it shipped from California to New Hampshire in a weeks time. The controls are intuitive and have worked without issue. I like the pause feature so I can readjust the load if needed. It has a low, medium, or high water level settings and so far have only used the high setting. The rinse cycle rinses twice automatically. When I want only one additional rinse, I set for wash only, then when that's finished, (it beeps when done) I set it on spin. There is a little lint trap in the washer that works fine. I have 2 Alaskan Malamutes so dog hair is a problem for me and the lint trap does as good a job as it can for what it is. This has been a very satisfactory purchase and I would purchase it again. If you have a space constraint, hate the laundromat and that expense, this little machine is worth it. For the price, it appears to be constructed well. Considering I've really been giving this little machine a heck of a workout, it's performed admirably!

I can't give 5 stars yet, we just unpacked it and went to Lowes for the adapter. Depending on your faucet, we needed a female to male adapter because when we unscrewed the tip of ours, we have threads on the outside. After much looking and talking to the man working plumbing section we purchased a Danco Garden Hose adapter to a male faucet. We also upgraded the hose to chrome with ends on. Hooked up, ran water and works great! This is not the one that says FOR PORTABLE WASHERS. It is a garden hose adapter.

I've owned this marvelous machine for one year now.

Here's what I love:
♡ It has never leaked, the water pump works flawlessly draining and preventing over-filling during use. Win.
♡ It's very quiet. If the clothes aren't distributed evenly in the drum during the spin cycle, it'll bang around, but there's a quick fix to stop it
♡ Gets out more dirt using less force; much gentler on clothes compared to many other washers I've used.
♡ Requires a ridiculously small amount of soap, even for very dirty, full loads. I usually shake the bottle of detergent, and just use what coats the inside of the cap.
♡ Still going strong, despite me purposefully putting it through its paces (over filling, sometimes running 10+ loads in a day, etc)
♡ It still works like it's brand new... sure, this is like repeating the previous point, but I'm compelled to say it again anyway :)

Dislikes:
⊗ The lint trap doesn't trap a dang thing in my machine. I resorted to using a metal sieve/strainer placed under the drain hose. It catches a ridiculous amount of lint and keeps it out of the pipes/drain
⊗ I wish the lid latched instead of just flipping open or closed. Because it just rests in the closed position, it tends to rattle during the spin cycle. Not all the time, small annoyance from time to time.
⊗ The water hookup hose that came with it has a non-standard thread cap, and I was unable to find a way to hook it up to my water line. I just use the handheld shower hose to fill it up. A trip to home depot would probably solve this though, so no biggie, just me :-P

I bought a rolling cart for it to sit on for mobility, making it easier to store.

I definitely recommend this machine if it fits your price range. It's a workhorse! I'm happy I bought it :)

So I am going to tell you what works for me as far as loading! I wear thick sweat pants to work, I wash 2 pair plus a work shirt or two... that’s one load on large setting! I wash pajamas, about 3 pair plus a tee shirt plus a pile of socks, that’s second pair on large setting! I wash all whites, 4 undershirts, 7 underwear, wash cloth on large setting. Towels I wash separate! I use the bucket system!
**update May 14,2018: still love this washer. Ya just got to know what loads to do. I live on the medium setting. Still using the bucket method, kinda curious about hose.

A pretty great little washer. The drain pump can be a little fussy and you definitely can't do more than one towel at a time, but this washer has been a godsend. Aside from towels you can do a decent amount of laundry 5 or 6 t shirts, hand towels, etc... Even with it's little quarks I would buy it ten times over!

UPDATE!

Thank you to the person who mentioned leveling! First and foremost, I have no experience with washing machines. Lately I had been having to set the clothes before every spin cycle, it was time consuming and severely irritating, and I couldn't figure out why it was having such a hard time. I was about to throw the damn thing out. I really loved this little washer and wanted to try to make it work so I scanned through the reviews and saw someone mentioned leveling. I found myself a phone app and some cardboard and went to town. Well golly gee if that didn't set my little washer right! Thank you to the reviewer who mentioned leveling, you saved my little washer and my sanity! <3

works great...
almost everyday, for two adult and two babies
purchased this item on May 26, 2017.

I love it! I got it 3 days ago and have washed 4 loads in 2 days. Works great. I just hope it keeps working as it is. I had read the reviews and ordered the faucet to garden hose adapter that sells with it so I was able to connect it to my faucet and start using it immediately (You have to do this if you live in the US coz the inlet pipe that comes with it only connects to a garden faucet). The water inlet pipe that comes with is pretty short but that wasn't a problem with me. I was able to place the machine right in front of my bathroom sink and I even used it in the kitchen once. When I opened the box some kind of plastic cap that covered the bottom fell off and wouldn't fit back in place so I just left it out. It just seems like an extra cover, I just screwed the flat plastic base in place as the manual asked and it works fine. I'm guessing these covers are just to keep the noise down but the machine isn't too loud without them either.
Will update my review after a few months of use.

Amazing little Machine! As a full time RV'r I am surprised at the number of campgrounds that do not have washer/dryers. Paired with my 1200w portable clothes dryer from Bubblebagdude on Amazon this washer has saved the day. My one complaint, the lack of information on the size of the supply hose. It is expected that you would have to buy a fitting to match what you are attaching to, but knowing the hose specs would be helpful. I have seen many post about this issue and lots have said that it was a garden hose fitting. This is not what I received, FYI the hose that I got, has 3/4 inch gasket'd female iron pipe thread fittings on both ends. I bought an adapter prior to getting the washer to be ready to roll and was a bit mad when I found that I had gotten bad intel. Garden hose has a coarse thread pattern and if you attempted to screw it on you would destroy the plastic threads of the hose, which is a finer thread pattern known as Iron Pipe Thread. I suggest getting the washer and determining what you need. I don't know if this was a change of the hose supplied or the other reviewers were incorrect of the adapter needed. But save yourself some trouble and know before hand that you likely have to make a parts run after you get this Amazing little washer.
