I love my new kindle Oasis and the case that came with is pretty nice. Although it's a bit awkward to hold sometimes, I will probably get use to it soon enough though. Only thing that is kind of irritating is that the kindle oasis does not hold a charge as long as a kindle paperwhite. My paperwhite would usually hold a charge for a good 6 days and this oasis holds a charge for about 2 days.
I traded my trusted Kindle Voyage in for the top of the line Oasis and got the maroon leather cover. I read thousands and thousands of pages on the Voyage & liked it, but this new Oasis is a step forward. I like the page turning buttons that are much better than on the Voyage. It is larger, of course, but fits my hands(I read with it both in my left and right hand) well. I switched the forward page turn to the bottom button and works perfectly for me.. either at the table or in bed. I think I read more quickly and have already read about 600 pages on it. The cover fits well and has the distinctive "hump" of the Oasis... It is the auto on/of type. I like covers for this feature alone as well as protection. Pushing the button to turn it on which I did before the cover got here was not as good. As for battery live, it is seems good so far... I updated the device(as I do with any new electronic gear) and then put it in "airplane" mode. I think that is supposed to help with battery life. It's still going on the initial charge.
In conclusion, it's the best e-reader I've ever experience. Nothing bad to say, but will update if something goes haywire :)
I wish it had Whispersync available. Battery life improves if you run the update. But, remember they base that week on reading 1/2 hr a day.
I am disabled with ms and legal blindness that goes with it. with the oasis I can read where otherwise I can't. the adjustable font and 7 inch size give me back a pastime that I had thought was gone forever. thank you.
I have had this kindle for a year or more. Best one yet. It's somewhat pricy. But don't have to keep feeding it more money. I like I it! Use "Auto Brightness" in settings that really helps save battery.
