I already owned the original FOREO Luna for Combination Skin, so I would like to make the disclaimer that I most likely would not have upgraded to this product had I not received it at a discount. I was given a discount on the product in exchange for an honest, unbiased review and went forward with this purchase because I really love the original and felt like the improvements made on the Luna 2 were worth checking out.
I purchased my original Luna through Sephora last year, after months of debating whether or not it was worth it. I'm skincare obsessed: I have an entire drawer set just for my skincare products, and that's starting to get a little too full. I have manual exfoliating products like raw silk cloths and automatic exfoliation products like the Clarisonic, and products for aiding product absorption like the Hitachi Hada Crie. Point is, I really didn't need another fancy device. However, within the first days of using the Luna, I was in love. It was fully waterproof, unlike the Clarisonic, and the silicone brush head felt far less damaging to my skin while still giving a great deep clean. I didn't have to experience what Clarisonic reviews refer to as a "purge" in my skin, so there was no 'my skin is freaking out because it's working!!' reassurance that I had to give myself. The Luna was a purchase I was extremely happy with, and it easily settled in as part of my routine.
Then FOREO came out with the Luna 2. I'll admit it now, I'm a sucker for new products. I was momentarily outraged that I'd bought the Luna so close to the Luna 2 announcement and then I got over it. Seeing it for sale through Amazon, though, I bit the bullet and decided to upgrade. Here are my reasons why:
1. The original Luna has a small brush area. The silicone bristles that are within that area are firm, and they're somewhat difficult to get into the smaller spaces of my face, like on either side of my nose and the undereye area. I often feel like my cheeks and forehead get a better cleansing than my T-zone due to this.
2. The original Luna, while waterproof, has screws on the bottom of the device. They quickly started to rust, and while it doesn't affect my use of the device, rust isn't necessarily something I like to have in my bathroom.
If you have the original Luna, and these two factors don't bother you, then I wouldn't recommend purchasing the Luna 2. Those were my reasons, and the Luna 2 definitely delivered in those areas. I've included a photo that compares my original Combination Luna with the Combination Luna 2 in this review, in case you're still on the fence.
The Luna 2's larger brush head area is the biggest and most publicized improvement. I'm glad I chose to purchase the Luna 2 because the first thing I noticed between my old Luna and this one is that the silicone bristles on the Luna 2 are much more flexible when pressed into skin. Cleansing with this brush is an improvement on the old Luna, which I already loved; it gets into small spaces of my face easily and it feels like a much deeper clean. The bottom of the device has no exposed screws, from what I can tell. There is a plastic sticker on the bottom, however it does not appear easy to remove and has yet to be affected by water when taken into the shower.
Like its previous iteration, the FOREO Luna 2 has different speed settings, but this time more are available. It also charges very quickly and lasts for 450+ uses at a time; as someone who used to get so infuriated by how often I had to charge my Clarisonic, this is a hugely important feature. Like other FOREO products, it came with a card of authenticity, which lets you register the device online with their website.
All in all, the FOREO Luna 2 is simply a better version of the original Luna. If you're happy with the original, I'd suggest sticking with it, but if you're looking for a deeper cleansing experience, the Luna 2 is a great investment!
I have been hooked on these since I got the Luna Play in my FitFabFun box. It was much smaller, did not have the massage function and was not rechargeable. But I still love it. So on Amazon Prime Days I got a sweet deal on this bigger/more versatile version. I love it!
I cleanse my face using the cleansing brush and Clearasil Hydra-Blast Oil-Free Face Wash (applied to my face - not the Luna). Then I apply Ageless Skill Serum (Prestidge) or Full of Grace (Lush) to my face and utilize the massaging function. I don't know if my skin looks any better - but it sure feels better.

I was very skeptical about this product. I was researching different tools for deep cleaning my face, and I was leaning towards a Clarisonic brush. However, I have skin that can be reactive and get easily red and irritated. Many of the things I read warned that the Clarisonic might aggravate my condition. I decided to go with the Luna because of the gentle silicone brush. The Luna 2 for sensitive skin was not available on amazon at the time I ordered, so I took a chance and got the Luna 2 for Normal skin. It's perfect! I have used it every night for a week now and I have had no negative reaction at all. My skin feels clean and smoother than ever. I have also noticed less blackheads around my nose. Overall, I am thrilled with this product and I feel it is worth every penny.

My mother and sister in law have been using Foreo Luna 2 for awhile and I received one as a gift recently. I loved this product from the very first usage! Luna 2 leaves my skin looking and feeling very clean and supple when I use the brush side. I enjoy following that step with the massager on the other side. Even though it's all timed, I find myself massaging my face over and over again because of the visible benefits and the firming sensation of the massager. Every women should invest in this product to have the cleanest skin one can have and to combat the aging process!
I was so happy to find a great deal on this this past Prime Day and immediately snapped it up as I am fairly sure my Luna 1 is a fake. The "bristles" are super soft and gently exfoliate. I also noticed it pauses for a split second every 30 seconds, so it's nice to know how long you take washing your face. Highly recommend!!
I love this thing so much. I bought it for the days before my wedding hoping to ensure my skin remained clear and perfect. I got compliments from my best friend about how my face looked really glowy, so I let her know I bought this (pricey but amazing) product. I've been using it nearly daily to cleanse my face with Eminence Blueberry Soy Exfoliating Cleanser (which is a creamy exfoliator, not grainy) and my skin is so very happy.
