As a health enthusiast and athlete for many years, I've supplemented my diet with various types of protein powders. Due to a number of food intolerance recently, I transitioned from whey and isolate protein powders to plant based powders that were easily digestible, non-irritating to my GI and were sourced from minimally-processed natural ingredients. Even with all the options available on the market these days, there wasn't one product I absolutely loved enough to write a review until now. I purchased Aloha's vanilla protein powder after thoroughly researching the company and its business practices. It was important for me to know what I was buying, where it came from and how it is produced. The criteria I used in determining my purchase included whether the product was free of pesticides, if the manufacturing process retains its nutritional quality, the nutritional content, if it contained artificial flavors, heavy metals, etc. Overall, it was a question of quality over price.

After a week of use, I am sincerely happy with my purchase and will be a repeat customer. Not only does the vanilla flavor tastes and mixes well (I blend it with coconut powder/milk and/or cashew milk due to my dairy/gluten intolerance), but it also hits the spot as a meal supplement. If I'm facing a hectic work day, I'll prep a smoothie in the morning for lunch and store in the fridge! I left one overnight and was very impressed to discover how well the purity, consistency, and taste held the next day. Although I workout seriously for health and leanness, I don't use this product as a post-workout fuel so I can't speak for it in that regard.

I strongly recommend anyone looking for a protein powder to do research first. The reality is that quality varies among brands and within brands, even among the plant based powders. Still, you'll find a lot of the same ingredients and price among brands, it's just packaged and priced differently. Overall, I found Aloha's protein powder to be a great product and a huge upgrade from the products I've used in the past. Not only is it cost effective, it's versatile, and gets the job done for my personal nutritional needs. If you compare this product against others on a per unit basis, the price is pretty reasonable for what you get.

I love this protein powder. It's one of the few I like that is vegan. I've read a lot of reviews about the product smelling like dog biscuits and I think those people must be in theater for drama. I mean.. okay if you stick your nose in the container I can see what they're saying about it smelling like dog biscuits BUT it doesn't taste like that. Ive drank it with plain water, almond/coconut milk, and have put it in smoothies and it tastes great. It mixes well also.

This is the best protein powder I have tasted. It tastes clean and has clean ingredients. It's a bit pricier than others but tastes really good. I always wait for it to go on sale on Amazon because it is around $10 cheaper than regular price at target.

Only flavored vegan protein powder WITHOUT stevia I could find. Pretty tasty for what it is. I bet its amazing in an actual smoothie using a blender with fruit. I'm lazy though and just mix it in a shaker bottle. I like to do one scoop banana flavor and one scoop chocolate flavor with some cashew milk and a little bit of water. It tastes pretty good and I'm a big wuss when it comes to these things.

love this protein powder, and i have gone thru tons of different brands, protein sources, and types of protein powders.

i have crohns disease, which makes food and ingredients tricky sometimes. back when i was really sick, i was looking for an easily digestible meal in the mornings to help me put on and keep weight. i dont like how soy tastes or feels in my tummy, and whey tends to make me feel bloated. pure hemp protein is pretty intense.

and almost all protein powders go for "low carb" and use artificial (or artificial tasting) sweeteners. gross. i have also tried weight gainer powders, but those make me massively bloat.

this protein powder mixes amazingly, tastes super rich and creamy, and doesnt make me feel like i ate a constantly inflating balloon. i add almond milk, a banana, flax meal, hemp seeds, chia, and coconut oil. and lately glutamine.

the tins are an interesting packaging approach. while novel, i feel like they are a bit excessive and wasteful, considering i go thru 2 tins per month.

ALOHA Organic Plant Based Protein Powder, Stevia Free, Mixed Berry, 19.6 oz, 15 Servings PACKAGING MAY VARY

I like the powder, not to sweet, yet it doesn't make me nauseous either. Good flavor. Great ingredients. I can put it in a glass and stir it or my protein shaker and it mixes well. No clumps. No hassle. Only issue I have is that the container is literally half full. It's not filled to the top, nor 3/4's, but exactly half. Which is a little bogus, because I purchased 2 other brands of protein and those babies were filled to almost the top of the container/package. Oh well. Maybe I will purchase again, not sure yet, based on flavor and effectiveness (plus the fact that I am not allergic to any of the ingredients) I would really like to. But, quantity vs price not really sure 😕.

The Aloha Chocolate has been my favorite protein powder by far! I just received a new shipment 10/15/18 and was startled to discover it has a different formulation! =( No mention of this on the Amazon item page... Now brown rice protein has been added. Also, MCT oil. And, natural flavor, whatever that is... So many other protein powders have rice protein in them... I was so happy to have one that was just pea, hemp, and pumpkin seed. I really liked the 200 mg Omega 3 in the old one. No mention of the amount on this new one. What happened??? Product used to taste a bit nutty and just the right amount of sweetness, now it is more smooth, not nutty, and tastes a lot sweeter. SO SAD!!! Please bring back the old formula!

I have to say I was really impressed. I have tried many vegan protein powder brands but particularly like this one. The chocolate is nice, not too sweet and to me has a subtle hint of cinnamon. Great for my soomthies or just on its own.

Also I love that there is no bulky plastic container which makes me feel guilty as I really try to limit my purchase of items coming in plastic. This brand comes in a tin.

I definitely recommend and am so glad I found this brand.

We love love love this protein powder! It's a complete, healthy protein. It's all natural and has no artificial ingredients. This was a must for me when I was looking for a new protein powder to start using.

We use this in fruit smoothies every morning. I don't really measure how much I put in, but I'd say I usually use about 1 scoop in each 2-smoothie batch that I make. It's strong enough that I can purposefully pull the vanilla flavor out with the fruit for a tasty blueberry vanilla smoothie when I want. It doesn't have that awful aftertaste that so many other protein powders have, so if I choose to use stronger fruits or use less protein powder, I can entirely mask the flavor. My boyfriend didn't even realize that I was putting protein powder in the smoothies at all!

I definitely want to note that it took me a while to figure out just the right ratio of smoothie to protein powder. I encourage people to work with it a little bit before giving up.

We love this protein powder and will continue to use this in our smoothies!

Great protein powder! Doesn't wreck my digestive system like other protein powders. My diet is a full omnivore (not vegetarian, not vegan) but I found out of all protein powders, this one sits the best with me. I do TRX workouts and weight training. I drink a smoothie of this stuff immediately after and it prevents me from feeling hunger rage! Helps me to build muscle faster and recover faster. Loved it so much I subscribed monthly. Flavor is actually pretty good, doesn't feel like I'm drinking chalk. Also not too much weird artificial sweetener flavor. I drink it shaken up in water.
