Rit All-Purpose Powder Dye, Denim Blue

Best thing I ever bought.

Yes, you can dye in your washing machine without ruining it!

I know, I know, I didn't really believe it either. I didn't believe it so much that I only attempted dying in my washing machine because I had an old washing machine I was about to get rid of. But sure enough, if you follow the instructions (and I followed the instructions CLOSELY, let me tell you) then you can continue using your washer even after you put fabric dye in it without everything turning intensely fuschia.

My denim color was nice and appropriately denim-y and while I was concerned that I would need to buy extra boxes to cover my dye job, I really didn't need more than the recommended amount.

Totally a great deal that I would buy again or recommend to friends and family!

I have purchased Rit dye many times and I am always pleased with the outcome. I use it in the washer to darken my jeans and other clothing when they get washed out

This is more of a traditional blue jean dye, like the color on the box. It won't work if you have dark jean washes where it is that really dark blue. It did an OK job, it seems to me like you may need two dye boxes (powder) to get the dye to really stay put on the jeans. A lot of the initial dye washes off the jeans so the final result is a bit lighter than you initially think. Be careful with drying in the dryer machine the first time as it may leave dye inside the dryer and could get on other clothes. I recommend you air dry if possible.

Used it to refresh my demin covered couch. Worked like a champ.

Bought to dye my White Vans. They look like jeans and came out pretty good but will be touching up.

Worked really well so far. Gave my jeans a much darker look. Didn’t think I was going to have enough at first but I only used half of the packet in the box. Mixed a little bit of salt(because that’s all I had) as recommended in some YouTube videos with half a pack of dye in a bowl big enough to fit my jeans and soaked in hot water for 30 minutes. Rinsed it out with cold water and let them air dry. Some of my jean faded were still showing which is what I wanted.

Just used it today. Brilliant hue. My denim is truly dark washed now.
