I happen to love mine. It can be charging and I can just pick it up, use it, and put it back on the charging dock without dealing with cables and without wasting time waiting for my fire to charge up so I can use it. I used to have to have someone plug in my device on a table inaccessible to me. I then had to ask someone to get my tablet to me when I thought it might have had time to charge. I deal with none of this now.
I think this is nice idea as you can buy the HD 8 case and stand for $35. And instead of buying a stand a case for the HD 10 just purchase a replacement case and you can interchange the different sizes of kindle on the stand if you like for easy quick charging
