The packaging is beautiful. The colors are gorgeous. The tubes seem small but the paint is so thick and pigmented I can tell they’ll go a long way. New to oils so very excited to get started with these!
I go to countless Paint Nites with friends and depending on the teacher (and my wine consumption), the painting is not always brought home. My last Paint Nite, I absolutely loved the painting but didn't have enough time to finish properly so I ordered this paint set hoping to finally finish it. I worried for nothing over adding to it with completely different paints - this set provides any color combination you need. The paint tubes are just under 3" and I like how the paint is smooth and has a thick consistency, so many paint sets are watery and cheap despite the price paid. End result? I have a finished painting I love and the opportunity to have a paint night at home :)
I really love the texture I get with these. They are thick and creamy. I painted a bird house last night and love the brightness contrast with more shaded hues. It was really easy to control and work with. If you prefer to work with a more thick, robust paint this is the perfect set! Easy to open with the point for puncturing at one end of the cap. Seal up great. Lots of rich, gorgeous colors to choose from and a little dab goes a long way. Wear old clothes. These paints cling. I had to use a lot of dawn dish soap to clean the brushes.
What a great set! I do some oil painting myself, and this collection of colors is just great! Super handy to have and you have some real nice colors here. I know to mix paint to make colors, but I stink at it! This set has nice colors like delicate rose or cerulean blue. Some nice dark blues and greens here. I have a giant tube of white I use to lighten a lot of these - but so far they've been great! The paint is a decent quality - maybe a little thinner than that Bob Ross brand. Decent price for the set - so far I'm very happy with them!!!
This mix is very cool with many major colors a beginner artist would need. It's a very nice set if you are interested in, or know someone curious about, painting. The paints are not too thick or thin and I am happy with the consistency of the colors and the quality. This is a very nice way to start a fun hobby but more experienced artists would probably be better off getting singles of the colors they need.

We wanted a set that wasn't going to cost a lot, but still got us into the territory of 'real' painting. My kids are still a bit young to appreciate this set fully, but they have still created some masterpieces from it.
I feel I need to start by saying that this is my first experience with oil paints. I've worked with acrylic for years, but wanted to try branching out into oils. So keep in mind that I'm not a beginner when it comes to painting, but I am when it comes to this particular medium.
The set comes with a nice selection of colors. My main complaint there would be that the white really should be larger than the other tubes, or there should be multiple tubes of white. (You go through more white because you use it to lighten other colors.) But the actual colors chosen for this set are good ones, particularly for a starter set. The colors are rich and well-pigmented. The paints blend well, and thin down well. The tubes dispense the paint smoothly--the paint is thick, but it doesn't take too much pressure to push them out, nor does the paint come out too fast.
Let me say now that if you are a beginner like me, please head over to youtube and watch some instructional videos before tackling oil paints. You will need some specific materials (like solvents because oil paints cannot be cleaned up with soap and water), and painting with oils requires different techniques than acrylic, mostly due to the slow drying time of oils compared the very quick drying time of acrylics. Definitely use brushes made for oil paint.
Anyway, so far I'm finding that this is a pretty good starter set and I definitely plan to keep playing around with these.
I review this KINGART 524-24 12ml Color Set, Set of 24 Oil Paint as someone who doesn't paint as a hobby. I'm strictly now and again and usually when it is a teambuilding/work related thing. I supposed it is usually due to cost because I feel as a non-artist (aka lack-of-artistic-talent), why spend the money on art supplies?
That said, when I looked at the price listed for this set, I felt it had an affordable price point so it was worth checking out. And honestly, I can totally see why people who aren't artistically-inclined still enjoy painting as a stress-reducing exercise. I imagine that feeling is quite different with working artists but for someone like myself where there is no pressure to sell any work, the act of painting is rather soothing. This oil paint set is, again, affordable with a nice amount of colors to select from. The paint has a wonderful texture when applied to the canvas. The colors are clearly defined on the box and the tubes. I used the paint with a paintbrush and with make up sponges just to experiment and both picked up the paint and able to apply the paint to the canvas as hoped. The mixing of colors was easy to do. The clean up was easy. It is an item that I will keep in mind for future purchase because this is kind of addicting (in a good way).
It's funny, I see Bob Ross and his "Joy of Painting" all over the place these days. I vividly remember watching him back in the day while playing with my Legos or Star Wars Action Figures. While I have zero talent at painting I still love to play around and try to follow along with Bob Ross. My daughter on the other hand loves to paint, and she's really good at it. I picked up this set of 24 oil paints for her as a Christmas gift. There is a great mix of colors, and this would make a great starter set for anyone interested in giving their painting skills a whirl. I would recommend picking this up for a beginner or for some fun on cold wintery night, order these paints along with some brushes and cheap canvases, grab a few bottles of wine and pop on an episode of Bob Ross, try to follow along and create something fun.
Firstly, these are not professional quality oil paints for a serious artist. However, professional quality comes with a serious price tag, which can be daunting to a hobbyist, or someone who is just starting out. Also, for parents with young artist, the cost of art materials can be prohibitive, and this set is good enough quality to be useful at a bargain price. I would have liked to see a bigger tube of white since that gets used more often than the other colors. I did not notice any issues with the consistency and didn't have the issues that other people posted about the leaking oil. they mix reasonably well, and have bright vibrant colors. So, basically, if you are new to oil painting, or supporting a young artist, this is a great set that won't break the bank.
