I bought this cute kit, along with a few others, to give my elderly parents something to do other than watch TV all day. I sorted the yarn by color and packed each kit into its own tub. Turned out parents couldn't quite get the hang of it, so I started the kit myself. Ran out of one color half way through. Posted a question to seller on how to get more red. Seller Kim at Kahootz was going to send another bundle of yarn, but was perplexed by the photo I sent of partially completed project. Then the light bulb went on over my head. I had accidentally switched canvases. Can you say, "DUH!" brothers and sisters? I wrote back to Kim telling her not to bother sending the bundle of yarn, that it was entirely my own fault. Two days later a package arrived containing not a bundle of yarn, but a whole new kit along with a sweet note saying everyone makes mistakes. Wish I could give 10 stars for great customer service.
My 11yr old loves this. She is into crafts and wanted to start working with yarn. Instead of going straight to knitting a sweater, I wanted a project that she could complete a bit faster and build her confidence. This kit did just that. When she finished she felt super accomplished. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the hook is a bit sharp and some of the squares are split in 2 colors which confuses you as which color string goes in that particular box. My daughter loved it and has already asked for another. It kept her busy for hours at a time. She finally let the tablet go in order to tackle this. A+ for all moms.
Perfect for a 6 year old... just like the package said. My little girl loves it. Decent quality, plenty of extra yarn bits. I practiced with her for awhile and she picked it up super quick. Told her she can go to it when bored or sad... and that it will be her happy rug when it's finished.
This is a great starter hook-rug set. The unicorn is colorful and cute. The set includes pre-cut yarn, tool, good instructions and most importantly, a pre-printed canvas so it's easy to follow. My 9-year-old loves it and we've bought a few of the other versions to give as gifts.
Great activity for my 6 year old. This will take her months to accomplish. I wish the colors would alternate more at the bottom of the latch hook rug. The rainbow part will take awhile to get to so she has a lot of white and blue yarn to do first. With certain children I can see how they would get bored easily from the start. But she is excited by the challenge and took to it in one afternoon.

My 8 year old loves this kit. She taught herself to use it and is having a great time with it. We keep the entire kit in a box she can take from room to room and even in the car. The box keeps all the yarn contained.
I just started "latching" as an adult after receiving one for Christmas. Now, it is a great thing to do with my hands, and I am able to binge watch like every one else! Always have had a problem with being antsy, and the need to do something, so sitting and relaxing at night after work has been a challenge. Latch hooking has completely solved that problem! I especially like the Latch Kit and Wonder Art brands. Both are quality and include all of the yarn you need, with clear instructions.
My daughter (8) loves it! A little tricky for her to get the hang of it, but still fun!
I remembered doing these as a kid. Now my daughter loves it. Yarn a little short but works. My daughter enjoys working on it
