I’m a SUPER heavy iPhone user and always have to charge it during the day. I prefer to minimize the amount of tech gear that I always keep handy and try to use “multi-purpose” items when I travel. For years, I’ve used combined home & wall chargers in my car (daily) which I toss in my bag if I’m going indoors (restaurant/hotel/visiting someone/etc) and want to charge.
My previous vehicle had a low tire pressure warning system and I used the same brand of inexpensive combined charger (from Walmart) for years without problems. In my current car, I used that same one and a few other different brands (Onn, Sprint-branded, Duracell, etc...) without issues over the last few years - inexpensive (<$15), from local stores or online.
My last one started fitting a little loose in the car, so I purchased another from Walmart – a different brand, since the last two I bought were no longer available. The first time I used it, on a 45 minute drive, the “tire pressure monitor sensor fault” went off (an audio alert + a dash icon), for the first time ever. I discovered this indicates a problem with the actual sensor in one or more of your tires (not working or has “interference”) but does NOT mean you have a tire with low air. I unplugged the charger and the warning light soon disappeared.
I tried another dual USB combo charger, purchased from Amazon: “NDLBS” ($14.99/2 pack). I love the sleek matte feel of it compared to the typical shiny plastic, which seems cheaper. All was well on a few short, local drives until I went on a longer trip - after I was on the highway for awhile, I received the exact same warning. Unplugged the charger and the “sensor fault” light went out.
I bought this DualX charger and used it yesterday on a 20-25 minute drive, and then on a 45 minute drive, and received NO alerts!! 😁
As a couple others mentioned, it has an unpleasant “plastic” odor: I didn’t notice it in the car, only when I plugged it in later at home - hopefully it will dissipate with use.
I’ll be buying 3 more of these as family Xmas gifts!
Absolutely love this item. I take it with me everywhere and it truly charges quickly (have not yet used with 2 USB attachments). So easy to use and good quality material. I am thinking of buying them as gifts/stocking stuffers at Xmas. Extremely pleased.
