For everyone with the issues and paper sticking. The green mat is NOT for paper backing. It’s for vinyl. The light blue is for paper. It’s a light stick. As far as I’m concern this is a true cricut product or a very good knock off. First picture is from the cricut website and the one I received is identical. Held my vinyl nicely and released just as easy.
There’s a learning curve to using these as with most cricut machines and accessories. Once you’ve mastered your technique (done by watching dozens of YouTube videos and a lot of trial and error) these mats are awesome. You can never have too many either. I’ve had projects that ended up calling for 15-20 mats sometimes. Sure, you can pull off the paper after each cut and load the next sheet on and do your protects just using a one or a couple mats. But they can get tedious and make cutting your project go 199x’s slower than just swapping out each mat as needed. Buy in bulk if you can. I find having 15 standard, 4 light and 4 strong mats covers pretty much 99.99% of my projects without me having to switch out paper on any mats to move forward.
Also- you can wash your mat in the tub with warm water and dish soap to restore stickiness. Keep that in mind before you throw out a mat because it’s not sticky anymore.
It is so nice to have multiple mats. It makes projects so much quicker when you can keep loading the machine and don’t have to weed in between. I used mine for about six months before it started loosing stick in some places, so I bought these. Easy enough to clean with dawn and air dry after that. It was a great price, too.
Everything you cut with your Cricut machine is going to be placed on a cutting mat. The most used by far is the green mat. This package comes with all three types of 12 x 12 inch mats. I suggest you rotate the paper on the different corners of the mat to conserve stickiness and use the other mats when you need more or less grip. So far, I am a marathon user of my Cricut but after 6 months of ownership and two very intense long cutting sessions, my green mat is pretty used but still usable for maybe one more light project before I replace the green mat. So far I haven't yet used the other grip mats in the package. I suggest having a number of mats on hand though and think this is a good starter purchase with a Cricut machine.
Was a little unsure about buying these light grip mats; the price seemed too good to be true honestly! HOWEVER, so far I am extremely happy with this purchase. I have used one of the mats multiple times and it holds the paper as expected and releases it better then my older mats did. I find I can peal everything off easily without needing the scraper tool I always used with the mats that came with my machine years ago. I can't speak for longevity as I have only been using a single mat form this 3pack for a few days but I would definitely buy again and do plan to purchase the the stronggrip mats soon.

Description
Cricut Cutting mats have been customized to match commonly used crafting materials. Each has just the right level of grip to not only hold your material firmly in place during Cutting, but to also allow you to easily remove the material from the adhesive surface.
I was so excited to get the blue mat because I have such a hard time with cardstock sticking to the green mat. And now I have a spare green mat! (And purple, but I’ve yet to try that one.) I like to use my old green mat for test projects and random materials, and my new green mat for HTV or vinyl ONLY. I love this variety pack! great deal compared to in-store prices!
I am using this with my Silhouette Portrait. It's so much better quality than the Silhouette brand. I'm undergoing a bit of a learning curve because the mat is slightly larger than Silhouette's, but I'm adjusting. I may decide to trim the edges to the Silhouette size.
I bought these because they were on sale and I needed some new mats for my SIlhouette Cameo 3. I had heard that cricut mats were better and decided to give it a try. I am VERY pleased with these mats, the only learning curve is that the grid is laid out slightly off from the Silhouette but after a few trial and error cuts it was easy to figure out. They are a light grip which is perfect for vinyl projects since it's isn't too sticky but just right!
I use these in a Silhouette Portrait. I like the Cricut cutting mats better than the Silhouette ones. They work great once the initially "super stickiness" wears off. I suggest only using cardstock for the first few cuts.
I've been using these same mats for well over 2 years now. I have tried other brands and nothing compares to these. The one negative is that certain papers leave a fuzzy trail behind but the mats are sticky enough to do their job again and again.
