BUILT Neoprene Kindle Fire HDX 7

Built products never disappoint me, so I knew I couldn't go wrong with this sleeve for my Kindle Fire. For those of you who are skeptical about the opening that doesn't close completely: Don't worry. Your Kindle will not accidentally fall out. It is extremely secure. You can dangle it upside down, and your Fire will remain snug in its sleeve. The grooves at the bottom are there for you to grab with one hand as you pull the Fire out with the other hand. This makes removing the Fire quick and easy. I may get another one because it also fits my Kindle Keyboard perfectly as well. So, it doesn't have a built-in stand or a pocket for accessories, but you know what? It doesn't matter because it does what it's meant to do - protect your Kindle. Oh, and the surprise benefit: the fuzzy interior gently removes finger smudges as you insert or remove the Fire. I love that!!! I was just about to get the screen cleaner and cloth when I noticed my sleeve cleans the screen for me. Nice.

The Kindle Fire is my third Kindle; I have a K1 and a K3 (now a Kindle Keyboard, I suppose). The K1 came with a case, and I bought the lighted leather case to go with the K3. It's important to have a great case to go with an amazing device.

I bought this sleeve for my Kindle Fire, after looking around a bit at different options. I originally wanted to find a case that would allow me to prop the Fire up and watch videos, similar to many popular iPad cases. At this point, the products offered aren't well reviewed, so I'm content to wait until a good one is out there.

In the meantime, I definitely wanted to protect my Fire from Things that Go Bump in the Purse, so I bought this handy-dandy little sleeve. I didn't expect much, and I actually got more than I expected. The Fire fits snugly inside the sleeve, as several other reviewers have noted. There is enough padding that I feel comfortable that the device is well-protected in my purse -- but not so much that it adds a lot of bulk, which is great. And the inside of the sleeve is a super-soft, almost furry bright pink cloth that both protects and wipes fingerprints from the Fire as I put it in and take it out of the sleeve.

Will this be my always-and-forever Kindle Fire cover? I seriously doubt it. But for now, it's doing exactly what I hoped it would do, and more, and at a reasonable price. I'm pleased with my purchase.

I bought this in the Scatter Dot print and couldn't be happier. It fits my 7 inch Fire HDX really well. No part of my device sticks out--it is completely encased and covered. It is a very snug fit, but that lets me know the device won't slip or fall out while i am carrying it in the sleeve. As previous reviews have stated, the combination of snug fit and soft lining does clean the fingerprints off the screen. (That rocks!) I don't really want a case for mine at this point, but I feel like the padding on this sleeve is adequate protection for my HDX around the house when not in use or if I need to stick it in a handbag.

Note when ordering: The item I bought has the title "BUILT Neoprene Kindle Fire HDX 7" Slim Sleeve Case, Lush Flower" but I selected "Scatter dot" as my pattern and that is the one I received. I am not sure why "Lush Flower", the name of another fabric pattern, is part of the title for the Scatter Dot sleeve. That confused me a bit when ordering as I was a little concerned I would end up with a sleeve in the Lush Flower pattern. I notified Amazon of the title error, but as of my review, it hasn't been corrected.

The above specs are confusing. I bought the above Lush Flower design, and when selected, it says it will not fit the HD or HDX models. Okay, then what will it fit? I have the Kindle 6 HD, so I took a gamble and hoped it would work.

Turns out it is probably too roomy for that model. If it helps anyone else, the dimensions for the Lush Flower design are 0.4 x 9.1 x 5.7 inches at the widest parts. (5 inches wide at the narrowest part.) I think that's the exact same size listed for the other designs that Amazon states will fit the HD or HDX models.

Hope that helps someone!

There doesn't seem to be too many cases out there for the Kindle 7" HDX yet, and I mainly wanted something to keep it safe while carrying it back and forth. This sleeve definitely does just that - I was confused at first when I heard about the opening and didn't understand about how it didn't close, but after it arrived, I realized that you're supposed to slide the Kindle inside and that it doesn't slide out. The first time or two it was difficult to get the Kindle HDX inside, but it goes in a bit easier now and it doesn't slide out until I remove it. This case is slim and does a great job of protecting the Kindle while I carry it about in my purse without taking up too much space.

Description

Built NY Neoprene Slim Sleeve for Kindle Fire Scatter Dot - Built NY E-KS5-SDT.

If you want a sleeve instead of a case for your Kindle Fire, this one is it. My family has 2 fires, mine has a Marware case snapped on it, my wife didn't like it so she got a sleeve.

The sleeve is very well padded and holds snugly, the little grip part at the bottom is nice, fits in her purse perfectly, and is bright and cheerful (all her words). her only complaint is the tag bothers her (on the inside), but it could be cut out if it bothered you enough.

she is very happy with her purchase, thus 5 stars. I'm writing the review because I bought it for her.

This sleeve is really neat ! It keeps your Kindle safe and cleans it every time you take in out or put it into this protector. I'm so happy to have this so that I can take my Kindle with me in my purse. Lightweight and attractive. I have a decal on my Kindle which could cause a problem with sliding it into a protector but has not, it slides right into this pocket. I personally like the hot pink interior with the black & white print surface.
A small pocket for a stylus would be a welcome improvement but I put my stylus through the manufacturers loop inside, top.

I love the Vine print of this sleeve for the Kindle Fire. It's fashionable while it protects your Kindle. Turn the case upside down with the Kindle in it, and your device won't fall out, unless you jiggle the case a bit. It fits snugly but the Kindle is easy to pull out when you want to use it.

If you need more versatility from your Kindle cover, try the Splash Safari slim profile leather case which has a cover that flips back to double as a stand. It's perfect if you want to read or watch a movie while in bed - no more wrist fatigue while holding your Kindle Fire! Plus you'll be amazed at the Safari case price ~ it's ridiculously reasonable.

For me, the Built sleeve and the Safari leather case both serve their purpose more than adequately.

I didn't want a cover that stayed on while using my Fire so I got this sleeve because I wanted something simple and yeah a little girly and this sleeve appealed to me. I am a klutz by nature so I wanted to protect my kindle from myself... true to form I was walking into my office with my hands and arms full when I felt my kindle slipping between my arm and my body. It hit the parking lot on the corner of the case/kindle and fell flat. I was SICK! Certain the screen would be cracked from the hard impact. But I took it out and it was fine! Powered up with no problem!! The sleeve wasn't so lucky. The seam on that corner popped a thread and is a bit scuffed but it did the job it was intended to do which was protect my kindle. I have read some of the reviews that is it too tight but that hasn't been my experience at all. It is snug but very easy to remove when you want to take it out for use. If it had been too loose I am afraid the Fire would have bounced out and hit the pavement hard!

I bought this for my kindle fire HD 7 inch and it fits my kindle perfectly. The fabric inside is very soft and the sleeve case is well made. My only suggestion for BUILT is that they fix their amazon page. Trying to figure out if it would fit the kindle fire HD 7 is very confusing and conflicting information. On the top of the page it says that it doesn't fit HD but when you scroll down the page it says it does fit fire HD 7. Please fix your page so customers know what they should or shouldn't buy.
