Love these! Used to be a Clif Bar aficionado, but quickly made the switch after my first Bonk Breaker bar. I train for Ironman distance events, so nutrition is key - that's why they're the official sponsor of Ironman (and USA Cycling) events. Here's my take:
+ dense: they're small, but they're moist and pack in a lot more nutrition/flavor. you can easily get 100+ calories in 3 bites (half a bar). the small size makes lots of them easy to carry in a back pocket too.
+ natural: they're organic, non-GMO and only have a few natural ingredients you can pronounce. read the label as they have a short shelf life of just a few months, meaning no preservatives.
+ gluten free: no bloating, irritated stomach lining and they fill you up/taste like real food.
Only con, is yes, the $3/bar retail price, but find the flavors you like and buy in bulk for ~$2+/bar.
I personally love chocolate (and look forward to these on long training days hehe) and my favorites are the PB Choc Chip (taste like Reeses PB cups), Almond Cherry Chunk (high protein), and Espresso Chip when I need a kick of caffeine. I use PBJ (high protein) and fig when I want something subtly sweet, but not chocolate-y, especially on the hotter training days.
Enjoy!
Good taste and works well during my long runs and my recent marathon. It was recommended to me by a seasoned member from my tri-team. I usually just use Gu's but he suggested that for runs longer than 12 miles or two hours it's best to have a bit of solid nutrition as well. I cut one bar into four smaller squares pre-race/run/ride. I only eat one or two of these smaller squares at a time. Eating the whole bar at once would be a bit much (for me anyway).
I have taken them on long bike rides as well with good success. I just bought a new box that is 'espresso chip' and haven't tried this flavor yet but I like the idea of a bit of caffeine.
Bonk Breakers have been my favorite nutrition for triathlon for the past 6 months. I received one in a monthly subscription service and absolutely loved it for my long bike rides. During training they worked out very well. These kept me energized for the entirety of a few olympic distance training sessions as well as a few sprints. Ultimately, I found that they are too dry for the long course. I couldn't eat them without downing a lot of water at the same time. This makes them difficult to get down while moving.
Because of that, I have to say that I will likely not use them anymore for long courses, but can say I would likely use them for short course and training.
The flavor on the coconut cashew is great as well. It actually tastes like coconut and I like that a lot.
I have tried lots of bars..gels...etc. while training for ultra marathons and these are one of the few bars that are easy to digest. Compact size and packs a good amount of calories needed especially on the longer runs.
Really good. A lot of calories for sure butt spread out over 100 miles you'll stay strong. Be sure to drink a little and chew well.
Good idea to verify " use by", I've had problems with other vendors sending out of date product.

Here at Bonk Breaker we believe food is fuel. Whether you are an elite athlete, busy professional or mom running the kids around, you deserve high quality food to fuel your day. The beauty of Bonk Breaker is in the simplicity of our ingredients. Most importantly, they taste delicious. You can trust us to #FuelYourJourney.
Excellent tasting, with a minimal amount of ingredients and no junk fillers found in most energy/meal replacement bars. My goal is to have a small snack of around 250-300 calories to bridge a gap if I cannot make a meal, and the Bonk Breakers do the trick. A good macro-nutrient ratio of Protein-Carbs-Fat without all the sugars and bogus proprietary blends offered by the mass merchant companies. Now, go hug a puppy! Highly suggest.
this bar is tasty
ok its not grommet though for what it is compared to the other products ive come in contact with this one
is exceptional especially this flavor
survived on these as snacks in between meals while traveling and they did the job lived on bonk bars for almost a week + straight and they saved me $$ and kept me full while exploring on foot
also these things are vegan i ran into a vegan couple who were famished and lucky for them i packed bonks
or they would have had to go hungry
not huge about the width of the normal persons hand acouple of mouth fulls though they stick to your ribs when you munch them
Item came with expiration date in May of 2015, just 3 months away. Was very upset and got a refund from Amazon. I bought them for the upcoming Spring/Summer cycling season. If these are a short shelf-life item due to their natural ingredients that's fine but they need to make that clear in the listing.
I ate one or two to try them out before contacting Amazon and they taste decent. The 'jam' is such a slim layer of jam it's virtually nonexistent. I know these aren't made for taste and to represent a true PB&J sandwich and with that in mind they taste alright. Beware of expiration dates, folks. Good item in terms of ingredients and taste for their intended purpose.
This is the best energy bar, hands-down, in my opinion. Other flavors are great, too, but Bonk Breaker will have my business as long as they keep making their stuff this way. Don't change a thing!
Tasty. Holds up well in the heat. Provides nutrition in the field or one the go.
