I drink a lot of coffee. So much so that I have large mugs to hold the sheer volume of (ideally) steaming hot beverage. Iced coffee is OK too. However, I hate lukewarm coffee. Hate is not a strong enough word. I loathe it. I want to harm it in a way that will make small children run screaming from it in terror. Simply put: it's not good.
So, when I discovered this wondrous device that promises to keep my coffee hot (or ice cold) AND promises to wireless charge my Razer Phone 2 I was all "where do I sign?".
The package arrived. The packaging was very cool, both clear and funny. It's been a while since a cardboard box has made me smile. A long while.
I unpacked and my initial feeling was - it's white. Everything else on my desk is black. Not sure why I was surprised by this, as I did see pictures of it when I bought it, but still. It's white and it's big. It's a big white boat on my sleek desk noir. Meh, tish and poppycock! I said to myself. I don't really care if it was neon unicorn testicle pink if it keeps my coffee hot!
I placed my Razer Phone2 on the charging pad and nothing happened. Then I remembered that the genius developers at Razer placed the wireless charging connector at the bottom edge of the phone and pushed it slightly away from me. the face lit up (as did mine dear reader) and a small blue light lit indicating we had a connection. Ah if only the fairer sex had small blue lights to indicate a connection I may be out on a date right now, rather than writing Amazon reviews.
I digress. It now came to the main attraction. Will it keep my coffee hot? I placed my (yes it's larger than most, but that's how I like it, m'kay?) coffee mug onto the left side metal disk and pushed the 'power' button - once for blue (cold) and once again for red (hot). I sat back and waited. The ticking from my wall clock became a metronome for the song of hot coffee joy formulating in my head. My fingers drummed on the dark desktop and my feet pitter patted in synchronous time.
Alas, I am not a songwriter, nay, nor a poet, but my song went a little like this: "hot coffee for me, hot coffee for me, hot coffee for EVER, hot coffee for me" - to the tune of happy birthday.
After what seemed to be a lifetime of waiting and singing and ticking, tapping and drumming I stopped. Time stopped. I reached a tentative hand out to the (yes it's large, I know this, that's why I bought it) mug's handle and snatched it from the hot disk of promise. I raised the cup to my trembling lips. I already feared the worst though, as my eyes were not enveloped in a hot steamy cloud. My coffee was... lukewarm. LUKE FREAKING WARM!
After I came round and realized several hours had gone by since I fainted I started to look for the reason for the abject failure. Maybe it was me? Maybe I wasn't good enough? Perhaps my life choices had lead me down a path where I was forever going to be denied hot coffee at my desk? Maybe it was a faulty unit? (note dear reader - do not place your hand on the hot plate after it's been on for a while - it is, erm, hot...) Finally, I looked at my large (yes, get over it, it's large. I like it large) coffee cup and realized that the bottom of the mug was concave, leading to a curve away from the where the hot plate should be contacting the base of it. Coupled with the fact the circumference was wider than the indented fan zone around the hotplate, this combination meant, most likely that all I had managed to heat was the small pocket of air between the cup's bottom and the hotplate's top. I was devastated. With great sadness, I placed the very very large mug back on the shelf with the other, smaller sized mugs I owned. I could practically hear the ceramic mocking clinking upwards from their collective mouths! Too big! Far too big! Size does matter!
Anyway, I swapped to the kiddy beaker that came with the unit and that works just fine I guess. Though when you first put coffee into it the metal lip does get pretty ho ho hot! So be warned. Also, for sale, a much loved very large coffee cup, one careful owner.
This device is so nice I may buy it twice.
The warmer keeps your drink at a toasty temperature as long as you use the cup that it ships with. If you use a ceramic cup it will still stay warm, but not nearly as warm as it does with the provided cup.
The cooling function gets so cold you can actually see a layer of frost form on the cooling plate. Needless to say your drink stays ice cold when the device is used this way. I've actually stared bringing a large container of water into my office and pouring it from a double-walled container into this device's cup to keep my drinks cold w/o having to go get ice from the kitchen.
The charging function works as well as it does on any other Qi charging device. Note the fan does kick on when your phone is charging. I would have liked to be able to charge my devices without the fan coming on, but the fan issn' that loud and it's not that big of a deal since it's not loud enough to interfere with calls or anything.
Finally, this is a single device charger. Don't do like another reviewer did and try to charge two devices while turning the heating function on. Bad Things(™) will happen if you do. It's quite obvious once you receive it that one surface is for heating and one surface is for charging. I think the label that says "Caution - Hot Surface" sort of gives it away.
I received this a few days ago and I'm loving it. This is replacing a pair of devices that took up a lot more real estate on my crowded desktop: a powered drink warmer, and a bulky QI charger. The cooling function is a new addition to my workspace and I'm using it more than anything else. I love it.
The wireless charger works exactly as you'd expect, but there are a couple of thoughtful details worth pointing out. For one, they included a nice visual indicator that lets you know you're properly charging. Another superb feature is the rubber ring on top of the QI pad. This securely holds your phone in place so that it doesn't slip off while charging. All of my other charging pads missed this seemingly obvious perk. It doesn't take much of a nudge to knock my phone off of the other pads, but this ring holds onto it quite nicely. Finally, this is also a certified "fast" charger, so my charge times were noticeably faster. This alone was a huge upgrade.
I've had good drink warmers in the past, so I wasn't expecting much more here, but holy moley this thing can get hot. To test, I boiled a cup of tea in the included aluminum cup and set it on the heat setting. After two hours, it was still perfectly piping hot. My normal ceramic coffee cups don't quite the same temperature, but then, who is leaving a full hot drink alone for so long? I'm somewhat of a chain green tea drinker, so having a constantly hot cup is wonderful.
The cooling function is especially fun. For a similar test, I pulled a full 12oz can of Dr Pepper out of my fridge, opened it up and placed it on the cool plate for two hours. When I came back to it, the drink still felt ice cold. I see this as a nice success. While this isn't the most scientific test around, based on "general mouth feel," I'd say that it does a superb job keeping my soda cold. Bonus special-effect if you're in an office environment - people love seeing the frost build up around the cold plate.
If you're a slow drink-sipper like me, this combo unit is an awesome purchase. The added fast-charging QI pad is just a killer added bonus. A+
Great purchase for my home work space. It works with the aluminum cup provided, but other drinkware, not so much. So, another size option would be nice. The charger works perfectly, and the cup chiller/warmer is a wonderful bonus for my desk.
Awesome device, Keeps my coffee at the perfect temp (no burnt lips lol) Keeps my canned beverages cold as possible :) plastic bottles it still keeps a bit of a chill as well (metal obviously will work better. Easier to retain cold or conduct heat) I have had my phone on the charger for hours next to a hot cup of coffee and there is not a single hint of heat transfer! Even has a fan below the Wireless charger to keep the heat away. I work at a car dealership as a sales consultant and always have to leave my desk at any point of the day to show our inventory. Not sure about you but I hate going back to a room temp coke or energy drink. This solves that issue hands down and same goes for keeping my coffee hot. I like to keep a clean desk and stay presentable :) so having a device that keeps my beverages at the right temp and also that keeps cluttering cables clear with a wireless charger is a win in my book!

We get you. We got you. Nomodo.
I really like this. I've had this for a couple of weeks now, and I'm very happy with it. It keeps my tea at a good sipping temp. The rim of the cup does get hot. But, shouldn't a hot cup be expected when drinking a hot beverage? It's perfectly suited to the office environment. Get a cup of tea or coffee, set it down and go about your work. When you feel like taking a sip, it'll still be nice and hot. All the way down to the last drop. :)
The other side wirelessly charges your phone. It also has a fan that keeps the phone cool while it's charging. Again, perfect for the office, when you aren't going anywhere for a while. I wouldn't use it for a quick charge, but it's perfect for the casual charge.
To list cons, I'd have to get pretty nit-picky... - I personally, would've liked a bigger cup, it holds about 12 oz. I guess there is a slight fan noise that can be heard. I don't really think it's an issue, but figured I'd mention it. Oh, the power brick is rather large, about 5 1/2 inches x 3 inch x 1 inch.
The heating pad is a traditional heating element, meaning it does get hot to the touch.
This product only maintains hot and cold beverages, so do not use it to make things hot or cold--it will take a very long time. This is only effective for the provided mug (specifically designed) and standard sized aluminum cans.
This product solved my cold tea problem and canned warm sparkling water problem. I have constant interruptions and desk away time that can be fairly random. It works well in my case. It kept my hot tea at a temperature that is drinkable (very warm). Do not expect it to keep your mug hot. If it kept it hot, one would burn their lips on the aluminum ring on the rim of the mug.
It also kept my existing cold can of sparkling water cold fairly cool but not ice cold. It does frost up a little bit, depending on the humidity around it. In my office, the air is rather dry, so it did not frost up as much as when I had it at home. Using the mug for keeping the contents cold is more effective than just placing a soda can on the element, so now I'm in the habit of just emptying the can into the mug. I wish they sold additional mugs!
It is a fast charger for sure. It charges noticeably faster for my Note8 than the regular charging cord I have at home. The cooling fan for the charging pad is noticeable but I wouldn't say it is loud at all. I like having white noise in my office so I have a little usb fan running as well to circulate air around. It's much quieter than that.
For the price, I would have expected just a bit more "power" out of it's functions but I'm already satisfied how it operates. I've thrown out so much lukewarm tea over the years that that alone is worth it for me. I took a risk with the price tag but it's surprisingly effective--in my case. I've been using this for about two weeks now. Hope it keeps up.
This is a great product! The wireless charging system works as expected and can charge my iPhone XS MAX from 20% to 100% in approximately 75 minutes. The real winner here Is this product capacity to cool as well as heat. It’s not likely to fully refrigerate a room temperature 12 ounce can of soda, but what it will do is keep a cold drink COLD. The provided cup does work best, because it has the greatest area of surface contact, but I had a reasonable success with it keeping a can cold, as well.
The charger works well and is faster than my Samsung Qi charger at home. The heater/cooler plate is so-so. Didn’t really expect much from it and wasn’t disappointed. The cup definitely requires a redesign. The lip of the cup will burn your lips if you aren’t careful.
Charges through my thick case. Keeps my large insulated tumble cold, but does not keep my 10 ounce mug hot. Maybe it's to heavy of a mug. Will try a different mug.
