My daughter and I have a great deal of fun doing this together.

Awesome craft project for my 4.5 year old! We bought this to keep our daughter busy during our recent camping trip and she absolutely loved it! She did get distracted a few times, as there are LOTS of pieces to push through, but each time she took a break she came back with the same enthusiasm to finish it. The first pillow I purchased for her she was just searching for one piece of fabric at a time amongst the bag that the pieces came in, which was tiresome. With this heart pillow, we dumped all of the pieces out and first we had a little sorting party and made piles of each color. Then she enjoyed the process a bit more than the first time. Also, I did have to keep reminding her not to push the fabric TOO HARD, otherwise she was shoving it way too deep. Overall she did a great job and did most of the pieces all by herself. The hardest part were the pieces that had to go on the edges of the pillow...for whatever reason there was not as much stuffing so the pillow wasn't filled out there as much and it was harder to push the fabric through the holes. Cute little project for young ones!
This cute craft is the perfect gift for crafty girls (5-8ish) with an average attention span. The front of the pillow is marked with numbers (like a paint by number pic.) The numbers are nicely spaced and are pre cut to accept the 400+ fabric squares included. It comes with a simple, not too sharp tool to push the fabric square through the pre cut numbers. IT is so, so simple but so satisfying. Also the many fabric pieces come in a ziploc bag so when you want to take a break all of your project is contained and organized. My 6 year old daughter repeated, "this is so cool, this is so cool," for the first 10 minutes of working on the pillow. The only problem will be when she is done with it! I am sure she will want to do more. I plan on using this for future friends bday gifts as well.
I have 3 young daughters so I just keep these on hand in a few different styles, and when it's time to go to a birthday party we just pick out which style we think the birthday girl would like and away we go! Started doing this after my oldest got one of these for a gift and loved it. Really enjoyed putting it together and now keeps it on her bed. It seems like they are well received and I like that it's a craft, so if they already have this or something similar, oh well, they'll have fun putting this one together too! Cheap and easy for those years where it feels like you go to a birthday party every weekend. : )
I guess I should note that after we've had ours for a couple years the kids have pulled a few of the pieces back out... I keep finding them in daughter's bedroom... seems like we could probably just poke them back in. Might want to keep the little stick thing around?
This is a fun craft for kids of all ages! I teach, so I love products that have a great educational value at a fair price point. This can focuses on color and number recognition, fine motor skills, spatial awareness, and confidence. We sort the colors and talk about which one has the most and least amounts. We also worked on some cause and effect and problemsolving. I love that my five year old could teach me how to use this without reading the directions. I also loved how it kept her attention! She was very proud of her completed pillow! Honestly, she had such a good time with it that I got jealous and bought myself one too :) I wish they had these when we were kids! Frustration free! I would recommend this type of pillow (with just the small fabric pieces) comparied to some others we tried that had Pom poms and other materials- they didn't seem to hold up as well as this particular one!

Perfect for my crafty 4-year-old but it was slightly short on the fabric. There were extras of most fabric colors but not quite enough blue. It's possible that my daughter doubled up on one or two but it couldn't have been many (older eyes were watching) and it seems like the kit should have enough extra pieces to allow for that. We did manage to fill in our missing blue space with another color without it looking odd so at least we don't have bare spots.
On the plus side, other than needing a little help getting started and near the edges (where the pillow isn't so firm) my daughter was able to complete the project by herself. She loves the result and is so proud! I like that it's not very large so it doesn't take up a ton of space on her bed. I may buy more like this for birthday party gifts.
This is a really awesome gift for 5 year olds. They can do it independently and really feel like they accomplished something. The product itself is cute and the colors bright. The price was great. Thisbis my new "go to" gift for 4-5 year olds. My daughter received one for her birthday and then we bought one for a friend's birthday and both girls were ecstatic with this project. It is an addicting craft for little ones and super easy to do. You basically pop in fabric all over the molded plastic. No glue is necessary and other than little pieces of fabric, it is not messsy at all. Also another great thing about it is a parents help is not needed once they get the hang of it. I think that is one reason it was such a hit as it can truly be done independently. I like that it comes with a color coded chart as well. I will definitely be buying more!
This isn't anything fancy but my 6.5 year old daughter LOVED doing this and was very proud of herself. From a parent perspective, I only had to show her how to do the first couple and then she needed NO help from me. This is a big craft win my book! I am buying a couple others for her birthday due to how much enjoyment she had with this. Cheap enough that I don't have a problem throwing away should it break down over rough play after awhile.
Perfect solo craft for my 7 year old. She can do the entire craft from beginning to end completely on her own. I love doing activities with her, but as a stay at home homeschooling mom having a little break or time to do something else while she is busy is great. This is our second craft pillow. She (and I) love them!
My daughter gave this to her friend for her friend's ninth birthday. While I was not there, my daughter said this gift was THE gift of the party. After opening all the presents, her friend immediately put all other presents aside and opened this one up and started working on it. Each friend took a turn working on the colors and completed it. My daughter said everyone at the party now wants one, including my daughter. Guess I know one gift Santa will be bringing this Christmas!
