I love this yarn for looming dish rags. I got this in the Potpourri. The color is nice and neutral, so if I'm making them for gifts, I don't need to be concerned that it will clash with someone's decor. It handles well and is nicely suited to looming.

Once the finished product is ready, this yarn feels so good in your hands when you're washing dishes. No commercially made dish rag could compare. I've found that most of the dish rags I've made with this brand will last a minimum of a year. This was, of course, in the early stages of learning to make them. Now, with a bit more practice, I do have many that have lasted for more than two years, so far. So, this yarn is good and durable and will make a quality product.

The other thing I like is that it comes in the 14 oz. cone. This offers an ample supply to keep up with the production level I enjoy. I will definitely be buying more of these!

I can't remember how many of these large cones I've bought and will continue buying of this particular Potpourri and/or Ecru colors. I've made a few blankets and love the pattern of the Potpourri yarn which is very subtle and beautiful, and well ecru is ecru. It does make a wonderful baby's blanket because of the subtle blue, pink, and lavender specks that are subtly there; good for girl or boy. The first time I finished a project with it I was surprised at how soft it was and what a great drape it has. I love the 100% cotton especially for babies. You get a lot of great yarn for the price. I pick up another one anytime I'm down to one left; in other words never without. I have not found any major difference in the color dye lots and I have had to use various lots without being able to tell where one started and another one ended. I have nothing but good things to say about this yarn. Don't know if it matters, but I've only used the large cones vs the smaller skeins; couldn't tell you if there is a difference.

I love this yarn! It is beautiful fall colors, and it is easy to work with. I bought it to make my daughter some of the "magic" pot holders, and also made her an owl, she is addicted to owls. You will not be disappointed with this yarn.

I love this yarn. I use it for amigurumi crochet all the time. It's my favorite to use for dolls because of the stiffness, and I find it easy to work with. The soft ecru color is my favorite yarn for light skin tone and the big spools are awesome and go a long way!

I have been using this white cotton yarn to knit hundreds of dish clothes that family and friends cannot get enough of. It keeps its shape, does not hold odors, and can be heavily bleached or cleaned in dishwasher without a problem. It is also much easier to use and is much more absorbent than acrylic or polyester dishcloths. Yarn is easy to work with and I use size 9 needles....perfect!

Description

Lily Sugar 'n Cream Cotton Cones yarn is 100% USA Grown cotton yarn. Sugar 'n Cream is a versatile worsted weight yarn, that’s great for small projects like dishcloths and potholders, to home décor staples like afghans! Available in a wide variety of shades, including neutrals, brights, and pastels. Conveniently machine washable and dryable for easy care.

i love this 100% cotton yarn. it's cheaper than the smaller balls of Lily cotton yarn 4 Oz. it is the same white cotton though. The same thick. Some colors you can't get in this big spool type cotton yarn. i make a lot of washcloths and towels. Acrylic just does not work out for that, because it is not absorbent as cotton. My experience with this bigger cotton yarn is that the thread is better than the smaller balls. i've used it for knitting and crocheting. i've made 2 long washcloths for washing the back and still have quite a bit left. Unfortunately there are not the variety colors available in this big spool. When i crocheted one washcloth i used a U.S.H/8=5mm crochet hook and for the knitting a U.S.7 =4.5mm, but also have knitted with a U.S. 5. Sabiene:)
PS: i ordered the color Sage also and it looks much darker than in the picture on the product page..
Update: i have discovered this again on one of those cones that you can expect the cotton yarn to be tied together unexpectedly one time (i think 1 time only).

This is the best feel/density for crocheting toys and stuffed animals. It's all I ever buy for those types of projects. I used it to make a sweater once too, which came out super hefty and warm. The color holds well too and the scented versions are a fun extra.

I crochet placemats with this yarn. It is easy to work with and the finished item washes up nicely with no bleeding of colors. Best lto wash in cool to warm water on gently cycle. Dry on low cycle and remove while slightly damp. This way takes very little blocking. Purchasing this yarn in the cone size is very economical compared to buying the color in skeins. Highly recommend.

I love Sugar'n Cream Cone cotton yarn, its so easy to work with and the cone sizes really go a long way, just wish there were more solid colors in the cone sizes. This material lends itself to a lot of project, especially small projects, but I've used it for cotton throws/afghans, would also make a beautiful bedspread or table cloth, those are on my list of future projects.

Huge fan of cotton, because it is warm, washable, easy to work with, does not create static, and does not irritate skin. With hand washing, the color has held well. It is less stretchy than synthetic yarns. Unfortunately, there are only a few brands, and they tend to be expensive, so I take advantage of the rare deals online.

I cannot see any difference in the Sugar'n'Cream brand and the Peaches'n'Cream one in stores.

One of these cones is more than enough for a very thick hat and very long scarf with pockets. Only one strand comes off the cone at a time, so if you need to work with two strands, you may want to get two cones.
