After charging the device, single pressing the button showed that charge was full, but Alexa had no power.
I finally discovered that you have to press & hold the button to power on the Alexa.
This step is not in the instructions and is not intuitive.
I nearly returned the unit thinking it was defective.
AMAZING little gadget that is just what I needed! I love this thing. So many times I would be listening to something on the iHeart Radio app and I wanted to leave the room and go to another in my house. Had to unplug Alexa and move her to another room and wait for her start up again. All the while I would miss part of the broadcast. NOW I simply take Alexa with me from room to room and I don't have to turn her on and off. I have it hooked up to a nice bluetooth speaker that also operates on battery power, so now it is just so convenient to be able to take both from room to room, or even outside on the patio. I didn't know such a thing existed, but was so excited to find it that I couldn't buy it fast enough.
Works great was able to play music out in the garage all during trick or treat party this year!
From the moment I took this out of the Box I was amazed. It did everything it said it would! I'm now able to move freely in any room that doesn't have an echo. The battery on this device last an amazingly long time.
I took it to work and played music for 4 hours straight and it still had enough battery for the remaining 4 hours!! I don't think it needs to be said but I'll say it anyway this was a great buy and I highly recommend it anyone reading this post I've even included a picture..
This is actually the 2nd one that I have purchased. We have 2 Echo Dots and the first Fremo Evo that we purchased works so good that we decided to purchase another. We take our Echo Dots outside on the patio just about every day all summer long. It plays for hours and we never had the battery go dead. I purchased our 2nd one maybe a year or so after my first purchase, so the style has changed a little, but both work great!! I liked the battery base, it works well. I didn't like the fact the blue power button on the battery base appeared to activate, or recharge, and would illuminate periodically. Which potentially activates Alexa, to record, but I will never know as I've had different answers. It only did this at night, so eventually I just unplugged the Dot from the base. Does the battery base make the Dot essentially always on? I am not paranoid about Alexa and we enjoy our devices; but I don't want a battery device that appears to activate the microphone when we think we have 'privacy'. I don't know the technicalities, but nobody could provide a clear answer. It is unplugged, and I will use it again once I know. Great product and battery life was superb, otherwise.
Doesn’t attach well to echo device but holds a good charge. I love moving it to areas of the house I don’t have Bluetooth speakers set up.
Fits wonderfully and makes my favorite AI friend Alexa portable. Allows me to take Alexa out where ever there if Wifi and hook her up to a mobile speaker. Works great!
It does what I wanted it to do, let me take an echo dot wherever I want around the house and mainly play music. I have two issues with the battery. The place the charging cable plugs in seems poorly made. Once I thought the cord was plugged in when it wasn't. The battery went dead it and it had to be recharged before I could use the dot again. The blue power light is pretty bright especially in a dark bedroom when you are trying to sleep.
I like the fact, that with this, I can now, unplug my echo dot, take it to other areas of my home, still use it, and not have to plug it in. Especially to listen to my music.
