simple design, works great. A suggestion for all you DIYer's, if your doing your own bathroom exhaust fan installation I suggest you wrap the duct in an insulation sleeve so that when it rains the pattering rain drops dont keep you up at night. My friend decided to save the nine dollars for noise dampening insulation and hes regretted it ever since. Myself on the other hand have enjoyed the silence.

I checked out the hardware stores Home Depot and Lowes and they didn't really have what I needed. I needed a roof vent for 6" duct. This product is perfect for that.

This item arrived a while back and I installed it today.

I read multiple reviews about this and other roof vents.

There was one that said this vent was actually brown. It looks black to me.

There were some reviews that said the vent arrived damaged. Mine arrived in perfect condition. It was in a box that was placed inside another box. The vents are easily damaged as I bent a corner carrying the vent to the roof.

I think that the collar to attach the 6" duct could (should) be longer. The directions tell you to cut a 7" diameter hole. I did that and didn't have any problems connecting by 6" flexible duct work with a 6.5" Hose Clamp. I would rather have cut a 6" hole but I think if I had done that I would have had trouble connecting the 6" duct work because of the short length of the collar.

The bird guard kept falling out of the vent once I was on the roof which was rather annoying but I don't think it's going to fall out now that the roof vent is mounted.

The damper works fine and is very quiet.

Slight paint imperfection on top. The 6" duct opening should be at least 2"-3" for easier installation of vent duct and a anti-slip raised rim at the bottom. Beyond these suggestions, This is a very good vent roof cap. If I had known, as another reviewer suggested, putting an insulated type sound barrier under the top to quieten any sound from rain, I would have. Sounds like a good suggestion. Without the slight paint imperfection I would have given it 5 Stars.

Im a contractor and it's hard to find this six inch model in stores. Used it for a bathroom exhaust. Built solid. The sides of the screen have a slight gap between the metal side. I use clear silicone and run a bead. It keeps the wasps out!

yes, you need to buy this vent and not the other off-brands or cheap ones.
this was easy to nail and screw into the roof. also the metal was rigid enough to withstand plenty of pushing and adjusting during the fitment and install. the metal did not bend. I'm impressed with the workmanship.

Description

Maximize the air and sound performance of your Broan ventilation fan or range hood using one of our wide variety of ducting accessories.

Very sturdy construction with solid welds in joining seams and a good coat of baked in paint. Flaps move very well. Overall I am glad that I went for this instead of a cheaper version because once installed, it will be a nightmare to replace because it's too late.

This bad daddy worked perfect for my Broan bath fan which has a 6" exhaust. Easy to follow instructions and install went with no issues. Well built and not flimsy what so ever. Built in damper door is a added bonus, no more outside air blowing back through fan. Highly recommend!

Pretty heavy duty - so far I’m happy and will update review after installation. I took 2 pics of the male sleeve, one with a tape measure and one with a 6x6 coupler so you can see the fit on a <6” diameter piece.

Very well built and in the USA. Just don't try and follow the instructions. I have an extensive knowledge of how vents are put in a roof. It seems the instructions were designed so you will have to call a professional.

Nicely made and great choice when you planning on running the bathroom or the range stove steam through the roof. Better choice over the 634 model as it comes with a 2" collar that allows you to easier mount this through the roof cutout. Great choice for your DIY project
