We switched to this brand after Merrick brand dog food started making my senior dog sick all the time with chronic diarrhea. I was a little apprehensive at first, because our dog can be pretty finicky about dog foods (he lost interest in Honest Kitchen after a few feeds and wouldn't eat), but A) he LOVES this dog food (we combine it with the Solid Gold Holistique Blendz dry dog food), B) it contains premium ingredients, which wasn't the case any longer once Merrick was bought by Purina in 2016, and most importantly, C) all of our dogs' chronic diarrhea symptoms cleared after the first couple of feedings. So I'm pretty confident in this brand, and I'll be sticking with it until I have a reason not to.
We have been feeding this product for about a month now to a chubby little beagle who needs to drop a few pounds. So far, we are pleased with her weight loss, which has been gradual not drastic. We have also worked on increasing her activity so that is helping as well. She enjoys this food and gobbles it up. We have also noticed her coat is very soft and shiny. This is quality dog food and we will keep feeding her this product until she loses the weight she needs to, then we will switch to a maintenance formula from this same brand. Highly recommend Solid Gold.
Note: There are two weight loss formulas for Solid Gold -- one with fish and one with chicken. I believe the fish formula has been discontinued. Our dog eats both of them without problem.
I love this formula dog food! I am totally upset that solid gold has decided to change the meat base from Alaskan pollock to chicken 😡. I am buying online, here on amazon while still available! For 5 doxies, this suits them all and keeps their weight in check!

It's tough to write a review for Solid Gold Fit and Fabulous Holistic Dry Dog Food. I've used other products by this company and solidly believe in the quality of the product, but my german shepherd is a picky gal. While she's gobbled up other varieties, she just wouldn't touch this kibble. I gave it to a friend whose poodle is much less finicky.

Great item for a diabetic dog that is low in fat and carbs. Jet loves the taste and eats it readily.
This was great for my beagle that was having issues with her G/I and was not only cheaper, but had the lower fat that she needed. Frankly it was extremely difficult to find a reasonably priced low fat dog food, but I'm so glad I had found this as the perscription dog food they had her on (it was low fat and low protein) made her smell weird and she didn't like it.

I have to be careful what I feed my dog, as far as fat content. I feel comfortable feeding her Solid Gold Weight Control Dog Food. She is not a big fan of hard food, so I wet it a little & let it soak up the water. Once its moistened, she loves it!
