Bought this over a month ago and everything came like advertise. I got the purple cover and it looks wonderful. The outlet works just fine and charges my kindle without a problem.
I also bought it on sale so it was $20 cheaper.

Everything promised in the bundle works perfectly. I got the Wi-Fi Kindle Paperweight version and it works amazing. The bundle is worth it!!!
Not surprising....and, no! I'm not in Amazon's "pocket", lol. But as a book-lover and collector since I learned to read this dedicated eReader is my absolute treasure. Sony introduced the first eReader....back in the early to mid-90's (I think) and when I checked it out I had no interest at all. Bought the new, 1st. generation Kindle reader when it was introduced by Jeff Bezos in an Oprah segment.......the audience were given one as a gift, viewing audience a voucher for $50 off the regular price (then) of $350. S/O had been hounding me for birthday gift ideas so I took advantage of the Oprah offer. Since then I'm on my fourth.....first and second generation then the first Paperwhite. And the Paperwhite is far and away THE best...so much so when they upgraded two years ago...and offered simultaneously a brand new eReader, I chose the Paperwhite upgrade, only because I was afraid that model might be discontinued. We do have two Kindle Fires but not for reading........no comparison to the dedicated "reader". Only reason I'm posting this is, it's an excellent bundle, great price and well worth it in the event any friends are on the fence about a digital "book". The built in, adaptable to lighting backlights are perfect; the font is superior, utilities....don;t think one could ask for more, size is print-book perfect and, much as I still love print books there is nothing quite so perfect as needing a new book at 2 a.m. and having it delivered three minutes or less later. :-) And I don't need to fret over our whole house being taken over by bookcases, bookshelves (much S/O's relief...lol!!)
One question for anyone who has a Kindle Paper white. I noticed a black shadow at the bottom of the screen when it is turned on. Did anyone else notice one? It doesnt interfere with the reading just curious if it is supposed to be there or if something is wrong with mine. Other than that I previously had a Kindle touch. I love how much clearer the resolution is in the paperwhite

I bought my first kindle in 2011, and last year took advantage of a trade in program to get a new Kindle paperwhite. I got the wi-fi version only, because I feel that it is enough for me to download at home. I currently have 140 books on my kindle, and this isn't counting the books I have borrowed through the kindle unlimited. I really enjoy my kindle and the fact that I can take all of my books everywhere. I was recently reminded while moving how much I love having e-books- as moving $100+ paper books to a 3rd floor apt with no elevator would not have been enjoyable. I love the long battery life, and the e-ink just keeps getting better with each generation of kindle. If you think you would rather stick to paper books, you really need to give this a shot!
Love this! It’s exactly what I wanted! I wanted to be able to read in bed with the lights off and this is perfect. It does exactly what I wanted it to do. I only have two complaints. 1) the screen is scratched too easily. I was reading in the couch and my 3 lb chihuahua ran over me and she left 2 tiny dots on the screen where she scratched it.
2) the books can be kind of pricey but I’ll surive.
Overall great purchase and I’m really enjoying my first kindle.
I love my Kindle. I travel a lot and it is wonderful to have a variety of books at all times. One thing I love is getting a French book and then matching Audible. Great for study. I don't like is that the photos and graphs etc. don't look good. But I solved that with the Kindle app for my phone and iPad. I can look at those things and the cover there. So all is perfect!
I've owned many Kindle's over the 7 years, I've taken and read them all over the world. Never a problem. Kindle Paperwhite 6" E-Reader is the very best. There's nothing else to beat it...until the next Kindle. I'll be inline for that one.
Does what it is supposed to do. Highly recommend.
