After hours searching on the internet for a small 12-16 bottle wine cooler that would fit on our kitchen counter, and after hours of reading other peoples' reviews on many types of coolers, I realized that no two people were ever going to like the same product. Everyone disliked something about every model I searched. So, completely exasperated, I finally landed on this model. I recognized the Emerson brand (for music equipment) and, with no other reviews pending, I just decided to take the plunge! It arrived in a very timely manner (about 4 days). It is sleek looking and blends nicely in our black and stainless kitchen. It holds bottles comfortably (although I haven't tried oversize bottles in it yet, but I'm confident they will fit on the bottom shelf. The cooler's fan only runs when it is cooling to it's lowest temperature of 54 degrees. The fan noise (which seemed to be a big complaint in other reviews) was very soft, almost unnoticeable. After it reaches it's goal temp, the fan shuts off. Also, although manufactures often recommended 5 inches of open space on all sides, we only have about 3 inches of space on the back and one side (open to the other two sides) and it seems to cool just fine. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase -- a birthday present for my husband. And he loves it too! A great purchase for us casual wine drinkers.

I purchased this cooler for behind the bar because it was compact, 12 bottles is sufficient and Emerson great name brand the temp moves 1-2 degrees, works as advertised and can barely hear the "hum" of the unit.

Ordered this to cold germinate my Salpiglossis and Chives, it maintains temperature fantastically. The first one i got was damaged in transit, but was quickly replaced without issue by the seller. It is super quiet, with the fan only making slight noise when it needs to maintain the temperature.
The cooler was damaged when I got it , but the company made good on the purchased, so I'm happy. I will order again!

Great item, work as described
I purchased this wine cooler about a year ago. It holds 12 bottles, but is odd sized shelf can be removed to place bottle on angle. It keeps true temp settings and looks very nice on the floor next to my buffet in the dining room.
*Update 12/22/15 I originally gave this unit 3 stars but am raising it up to 5 because the issue I had with it (not cooling anymore) has been resolved. Apparently dust/hair/etc can pile up on the back of the unit by the fan/vents. I vacuumed this up and it solved the problem right away. It's a simple fix which I never considered as I never see the back of my unit. Thanks to Dan who commented as he was having the same issue. I thought I'd update my review incase anyone else is having the same problem they can see if this works.
I've had this unit now for about 3 years. I'm only giving it 3 stars because after about 1 year it will not keep cool below 61'. It's now constantly between 59'-61' and since I mostly keep whites in there, would prefer if they were at least 54'-55'. Yes, it does make a difference. Aside from the inability to stay any colder than 59', it is a pretty decent fridge. It's very quiet, it has a light which you can keep on or off and it holds bottles nicely. It's not too big nor too small and overall I think it looks pretty nice. If it weren't for the fact that the temperature can no longer be controlled, I'd have given it a 5. Please keep in mind the temperature can become higher if you place things too close to the fridge or right on top or next to the unit. I have moved it around to make sure it has accurate ventilation but nothing changed so it simply is what it is.
