Timbuk2 Kindle Fire Ballistic Slim Sleeve for scratch and impact protection, Grey/Brown (will not fit HD or HDX models)

Timbuk2 never seems to let me down, i own a large sized travelers pack that i built on their website and it's the most durable thing i've ever owned; which is what prompted me to get a sleeve for my kindle, how awesome is this!? my kindle is protected from drops, stains, dirt, debris and anything else you can think of... i wouldn't drop it into a pool, not water proof... or off the roof of a building, this case only protects drops from waist level, maybe head level... but i haven't tested it.

Pros:

Durable
Great Looking
Easy to use

Cons:
Can't use if you already own a hard case, won't fit. (my kindle touch is in a hardcase with a flashlight mount)

This product would best suit the Kindle Paperwhite.

This DOES fit the kindle paperwhite perfectly. Even though when I initially pulled it from the packaging I was sure I bought the wrong one. the case only looked big, it actually fit fine.

One note: There were some reviews complaining about it only having a small patch of velcro on the top. I was initially concerned that it wouldn't adequately retain the kindle in the sleeve as I was transporting it, but this proved to be an unfounded fear. The small piece of velco is all that's needed because the kindle figs snug into the sleeve. Snug is a protected and safe way, and not in a painful to insert and remove way. Buy this with confidence.

It looks super sharp too. It's modern and kick-a.

Works great. I like the hook and loop closure. It's bigger than necessary for the Paperwhite, but not grossly so. It is well padded appears to provide good protection, which is the idea after all. I like the type sleeve instead of a notebook cover so I have no added weight or bulk to hold when I'm reading. It does just what I bought it to do. I would give it five stars if it were a closer fit like the neoprene sleeve I have for my Nook.

Just wanted to leave a quick note if anyone has the same question I did. I couldn't find a great sleeve for the Nexus first gen so I tested this out. This is a great fit for Nexus 7 (2012). It does make it a little wider but is a snug fit and the velcro snaps over the tablet.

This case seems very good quality and the gray/black/gray one looks much better in my opinion in real life than it does in the images.

I have now owned two of these. My cat urinated on my backpack, with the zipper open. My Kindle and this case were inside. The backpack and contents all ruined, except my Kindle is in perfect shape - protected by this timbuk2. I love this case because it's simple, keeps my Kindle safe and slides in and out of my backpack easy. I have one covered in cat urine and one that is shiney and new that I use.

Description

So slim, so cushy, so easy to take through security.

My Kindle slips snugly into this sleeve and is protected from life's bumps and bruises as at travels in my handbag. I even have room to keep a stylus on the bottom. The Velcro top helps keep the kindle from sliding out. The tough construction and sturdy stitching has kept this sleeve in like-new condition. However, if you're looking for something you can open up and leave on while reading, this is not for you. It's not that kind of cover.

Upon receiving my Kindle Fire last month, I realized that I needed some sort of protection. I carry it in my messenger bag, but that big screen might not mate so well with phone, keys, lip balm, wallet, iPod, etc. My immediate solution was to grab an old large thermal footsock, cut off most of the top, and use the foot section as a case. This worked well enough, but the sock had a hole in it and some spots of deck stain which looked a bit too much like dried blood. My girlfriend was not impressed, even though it was her deck which I had been working on. My coworkers thought that it was hilarious, enough so that I had to buy the first round of drinks that Friday.

* sigh *

After searching for too long online for a 'Kindle Fire CASE', I realized that the product I should be looking for was a SLEEVE. What I had learned from the sock was that I liked a top-loading system (one-handed), so even though there was a larger selection of the sleeve ENVELOPE style, this Timbuk2 case was more of what I thought I would prefer. (On a side note, I also realized why I have so many orphaned socks in my drawer.)

Did I get to the review part here yet? Yes? OK. I LOVE THIS CASE!! Sorry. I mean to say "I LOVE THIS SLEEVE / COVER !!" The colors are to my taste, and the feel of the material is just fine. So far, I have no problem with the velcro piece at the opening. It works fine, but I'm not sure that it's necessary. The case fits snuggly around my Fire, and it sits vertically in my messenger bag ... so I don't foresee any kind of unsleeving mishap. But it will keep items from falling into the sleeve, so enh ... I supose it's a good idea. Good product here!

This is a good priced Kindle Fire holder, that looks nice, and closes at the top with a velcro latch that holds the Kindle Fire in. I have been using it for a year now, and it really does work.

It is not a fancy cover that turns itself into a propped reading platform. It is just a sleeve that protects your Kindle Fire

Looks good and works well. I haven't dropped my fire on the floor, so I can't attest to its drop protection, but it's thick enough that I think it would do a pretty good job at protecting the device.

Great simple case, that not only fits the Fire, but also the newer Keyboard Kindle. If you do not want a larger case, but something simple, this Timbuk2 product is perfect (it's my third buy from Timbuk2, well made).
