I was hesitant buying this with no reviews but glad I took the chance. Previously had a larger ice maker that made the bullet cubes and decided to try this one after the old one died.
It's relatively quiet (way quieter that the old one) and because the clear ice cubes melt slower it runs much less often which is a huge plus. The size of the cubes can be adjusted by basically adding time to the ice making process.
If there is one negative it would be that the ice drops off in blocks and if they aren't broken up, the tray won't hold as much ice. Not enough of an issue for me to pull a star off.
Have only had this for a week so don't know how it will hold up over time but right now I would buy it again.
We searched everywhere for an ice maker that would make actual cubes, not bullet ice, and this was our best option. It's slower to make ice, but considering that the ice melts slower, that's not really an issue, since it makes a lot of ice with each cycle. The biggest problem is that the ice is hard to break up into individual cubes, since it kind of drops a molded slab into the tray. We mostly use it for filling an ice bucket for drinks when we have friends over, and it has to run all day to make enough.
After the first day of owning it, we ran into an issue where it stopped automatically making ice. We would have to lift the lip next to the basket (under the water flow) to get it going again. I contacted the seller (Buymaxus) for a return, thinking it was broken, but they helped resolve the issue. The lip is supposed to point upward so that the water flows into the back of the machine, and when the ice tray is full, the ice weighs it down to stop the machine, and there was a piece of plastic that had gotten lodged beneath the lip, keeping it from returning to its upward facing position after dumping a tray of ice, so it thought it was full. Once it was removed, the machine continued making ice, no problem.
I just received this ice machine yesterday so this review may be a bit early. I'll update as needed.
The machine arrived a day early; love when this happens. After seting it up, I've been trying out different features. The description says that it can make 3 different sizes of ice but I beg to differ. It can actually make 12 different sizes (ice thicknesses). There are instructions included on how to make the different sizes so I won't go into that. The largest ice, or thickness, is just about a perfect cub leaving just a small dimple. No bother there. The smallest ice, thinnest, makes great ice for munching on. The machine is quiet enough for me. Seems to make more ice than I can use. I just store the ice in my ice-ben in the freezer. I've had a few ice machines and this one is by far the best. Ice is almost clear and use tap water. Now to see how long this machine will hold up.
Happy with this. It really does make crystal clear ice. I use distilled water for crystal clear ice. If you use tap/filtered water the ice will come out cloudy. I was pleasantly surprised and took a chance with the lack of reviews.
We use this in our motor home and specifically bought it for burning man to have a constant ice supply. This ice maker does not use a lot of power so does not create a big drain on our motor home. It does put off some heat though so if you can make your ice overnight or early in the morning it won't heat up your area quite as much. In a small motor home space this is important but one we've used it in the house we don't even notice the heat.
The weight/size is good, there were no weird off gas smells when we opened the package as some people have complained about in reviews of other ice makers that are cheaper, The instructions are easy to follow and translated well enough that we didn't get confused while reading anything.
They recommend that you rinse out the machine prior to using it. We just did one full tank with filtered water to clean in and make sure it was working and trashed that ice. I'm sure that that would be good ice for a cooler though if somebody was in a pinch to make ice right away.
Cons: Due to the compact size of the ice maker it only does one small tray of ice at a time. Once the ice falls into the bucket there is not a freezer compartment there to keep that ice from melting. We live in Phoenix and so we have to be constantly paying attention not to lose ice to melting. It doesn't melt fast.
We make the large cubes which add 6 minutes to each icemaking session. I'm not sure if the ice maker actually makes 48 pounds of ice in a day just based on pure mathematics.
Cranks out ice like nobody’s business. This is a jewel. Wish we would have purchased this sooner. We live in the country, on a well system, and our water is some of the hardest water known to mankind! So, we don’t have an ice maker in our freezer. This purchase is perfect for our needs. Adding purified water in this machine provides the clean and clear ice cubes. We have a reverse osmosis system and the water from our RO system works great. It makes so much ice in such a short time I have had to turn it off a couple of times. We have more than enough ice - certainly more that when I was cracking trays and refilling them. I would highly recommend this product for anyone looking for crystal clear cubes.

Description
I was a little hesitant when I purchased the mahcine since there was only 1 review, but the ice maker works great. I make batches of ice and store it in a full size standing freezer. The noise level is low and I love the clear ice. The only problem is the location of the LED readout. It is located in the front of the machine. It would be better if it was located on the top of the machine. The LED display on the machine only stays on a couple of seconds and then disappears similar to a mobile phone. If you want to see the status of the ice making you have to touch a button.
Just started using it on 4.1.19 so we shall see...
And I have to say the manufacturer of this machine did good, this thing puts out... No louder than the water cooler next to it. So it is , in my opinion, VERY tolerable for the "noise level". Cranks out ice in a quiet way, obviously there is going to ice dropping in any machine so that is a given. Be that as it may, We just don't run it at night. We however, transfer the ice to the freezer and stock it for a day or two then simply push the power button again and, viola, ice in a few minutes... ALL DAY LONG.
I placed a 5 gal. battery operated(USB charged) water pump for LUDICROUS amount of convenience... CHECK THE PIC!!
The family and I use multiple forms of hydration based on performance requirements so having the ability to cool any beverage(or body part) weather it be a super deep hike up a mountain or a wicked pool party in the back yard, this set up has us covered!
TIPS: DON'T COVER THE SIDE VENTS! machines like these have to vent a lot of heat. Refrigerators and freezers and systems like these remove the heat from inside the compartments, they do not produce cold like a heater produces heat. Hence My set up here allows plenty of ventilation around the unit for the removed heat to escape.
It works well!! Cute, but works. ;)
And I like the fact that I put and fill water myself instead of water pipe. Just what I exactly wamted to. :)
This machine produces beautiful ice, however, it is always a little wet so it sticks together when placed in the freezer. I am constantly banging the ice to break it up. The ice is fantastically clear ( I only use distilled water ). It makes my bourbon or scotch look awesome.
Pros:
1.) Ice lasts a lot longer than the bullet shaped ice by other brands
2.) Ice comes out clear ( no white cubes - all clear )
3.) Produces ice much faster than my fridge ice maker
Cons:
1.) Ice is wet and sticks together in freezer.
2.) Ice when made comes out in bricks of cubes, need to break apart before using.
3.) No water line into unit ( not a major draw back for me since I use distilled water )
I am not rating this a 5 star due to the ice is always wet... if the manufacture could make the cooler colder, I think it would be a 5 out of 5.
I've been using this for about 10 days now and couldn't be happier with it. It looks good on the counter, was easy to set up, and has been churning out little hard cubes of clear ice consistently. And it is surprisingly quiet, with only a low hum and the sound of tinkling water. We've already made and used the equivalent of four or five commercial bags of ice.
The ice is "wet" and the cubes freeze together in the freezer, but a whack or two easily breaks it up into individual cubes.
I would buy again or gift it.
