I bought a few different sound grenades/personal alarms to try them out. This one was by far my favorite. Even though others listed a higher decibel level when I try them out this one seems the loudest. I sometimes go hiking/walking alone or hiking/walking with my dogs and tend to favor more isolated areas. I have a lot of wildlife in my area as well as the occasional guy who either is creepy from afar or decides they are going to invite themselves to walk with me which can also be unsettling. This can easily be clipped to a belt loop and forgotten about, but still very easily accessible. I was also hopeful it might scare off any animals I come across as I have come across coyotes twice before. Although that may be questionable, I tried it out in my backyard and while it made me have a mini heart attack over how loud it was both my dogs, one of which who can be scared of her own shadow, seemed excited and ran over to see what was going on. But maybe that's a good thing in case I ever need to use it for real. It would be nice to know my dogs wont freak and run off, while hopefully scaring off any unwanted wild animals/humans.
EDIT: I read a lot of reviews that said people were disappointed that the pin stays attached to you and you are left with he alarm in your hand and that they would rather have the alarm attached to them. This is done on purpose. You are meant to throw the alarm into bushes or away from you in general so the attacker either cannot find the alarm to silence it, needs to move away from you in an attempt to silence the alarm, or so they do not try to go after you/attack you in an attempt to get to and silence the alarm. You WANT the alarm away from your personal body.
I walk my dogs in the wee hours of the morning, and feel a little safer having a personal alarm. I think the startling effect alone would buy precious time if there were ever an assailant.
My only wish was that the included clip attached to the alarm itself, as opposed to the pull-away activation piece. If I was in an emergency situation, it's likely that I would want the alarm to stay attached to my body, as opposed to having the pull-away activation piece attached to my body and the alarm in my hand (where it could be dropped, or grabbed and thrown). I would rather drop the activation piece and keep the alarm attached to me. I might replace the clip with a small carabiner that would fit the alarm better.
Other than that, it's easy to carry and the piercing alarm is an attention-getter. Is it enough to bring neighbors out of their homes at 4:30 in the morning? I hope I don't have to find out!
Very Loud...wish I had read the instructions before clipping it on my purse and heading out. I accidentally detached the two pieces and struggled to turn the alarm off in a store. Detaches a bit too easily. Alarm volume is great though!
It's loud and easy to carry with my keys. I bought this device because i work on a college campus and wanted to carry something with me on my long walks to the parking lot that would be really easy to use. A gentleman from the fbi recommended i try this. The only problem is that it's easy to pull the pin out by accident and scare everyone around you. At least it works!!
Any other questions? Small and loud, looks just like a USB stick on your keychain. And did I mention, DAMNED LOUD!

Description
We are born explorers. The ealarm+ helps us explore with confidence. It is an ultra-compact personal alarm, small in size but big in sound. Once you pull the pin, the device emits a 130 decibel (ambulance-level) alarm. The siren will sound continuously for 30 minutes unless pin is returned to device. The ealarm+ allows maximum utility for those intending to use in the outdoors with a rugged rubber water-resistant shield. The extra bottom hook feature allows easy construction of a tripwire or campsite alarm. Included: Battery and metal carabiner.
Just as described and shipped fast. I actually ended up putting this on my key chain so I am able to pull it if someone approaches me. Very great for safety and I believe every woman should have one just to be safe! Great buy and will definitely purchase more.
My son comes home at 1am, so I'm worried about him at night. NYC doesn't allow stun gun, so I bought him this. He hooked it to his pant belt loop. He tried it, and darn it is loud. The whole point is if someone robs him, he can act like he is taking money out of his pocket and pull the pin. Loud siren may make them run away
These are awesome....clips are firmly held in place but come apart easily with a quick pull.... I have lots of uses for these...
I bought 3 and they all scream....
Purchased this for my daughter because she works late shifts. Hope she wont have to use it. Viewed several YouTube videos on this product, has many uses. Glad I did because if you attach the alarm to a bag or purse, you would want to put the alarm side on the bag or purse, not the pull clip. If someone takes off with your bag you can hear which way they went and track the thief, also it might make them want to drop the bag.
Very loud! I purchased as a additional animal repellant and have not had the opportunity to use it aside from my initial test to make sure the product worked but I was impressed with the volume. I carry this on my pack for all hiking trips and when I walk my dog. My only complain is that carabiner cannot be place on the trigger since the trigger is so sensitive and has to be placed on the back rubber portion which makes a somewhat annoying squeaking noise.
