I have purchased all of the components of this system available at the time of this review: inside module, outside module, rain gauge, and the wind gauge. I waited in order to review the whole system. These components are all attractive and very well built. That is especially important to me since I live in Tucson, Arizona where summer temperatures get over 110˚ F and winter lows into the mid 20's. Our dry heat and the brutal sun is a real test. I have had the rain gauge, indoor, and outdoor components since about the time they were first released and the clear plastic on the rain gauge is a little yellowed but it works fine. This is the first summer for the wind gauge and so far it is holding up very well. I built a simple rig out of PVC pipe so I could mount it on the roof (see photos) The outdoor module lives on a shady shelf of an east facing porch. I am very happy with this system. It was simple to set up and get working, looks attractive, can be monitored from a web interface or your smart phone. Data can be downloaded from the web interface. If there is anything to criticize about this system it is the data reporting and graphing functions could be stronger. Hopefully this will improve over time.
Easy to sync up with the main module if you get the Module Manager software as has been previously pointed out. Seems to be very sensitive and speeds / directions seem to closely match intellicast website. Instruction very basic and this is why I'm withholding a star. Seems pretty expensive for what it is. The interface is pretty neat. It shows average, gusts and direction.
The Wind gauge sets up easily. Simply point the arrow to north as you mount it and you are done. The sync goes well also. I do wish it updated faster. I have times that I can see the wind blowing hard and it only shows 1-2 MPH on the app display. I am sure if you look at it in a few hours you could see some of those peaks but that doesn't seem very helpful to me.
Overall it is a really nice unit with no moving parts.
I've had the wind gauge outside for two weeks now. It works well and is very close to the national weather service station about 10 miles away.
I think the construction is good and the installation was very quick and easy.
I purchased the Netatmo mount and placed the wind gauge on top of a 6' tall 4x4 pole. I'll review the mount separately, but I'll say here that it did the job just fine.
I would recommend the wind gauge to add additional value to your Netatmo personal weather station! I enjoy it.
Finally have all the pieces for my weather station. The only thing I can say is that mounting the wind gauge is probably the most difficult decision I've had to make. I am going to try different brackets and locations. I like the gauge though. No moving parts is a real plus.

Great addition. We have outdoor shades that are motorized. I get an alert and can have the blinds come up when winds are high. One of many benefits.
Worth it if you have the Netatmo system.
I purchased the NetAtmo weather station and rain gauge about 9 months ago. in anticipation of having a sever "El Nino" year. I knew the the wind gauge would be coming out in early summer. I purchased it when it was available and installed it on the peak of my house. I have another Anemometer to compare the two reading.
The wind gauge by NetAtmo is very accurate. I only have slight variance in readings, but that could be from my instillation.
I loved the weather station so good, I bought the additional wind and rain gauge, which gives me a full weather station right here in my home. This product is very accurate and you can see your indoor and outdoor weather, temperature and air quality all in real time!
Apart from the fact that is nice looking, small, discrete and has no moving parts it works flawlessly. And its fun to know what is happening everywhere Netatmo has these stations, you would be surprised! Great products
Wind gauge functions good with accurate readings. The only problem is Netatmo. I wanted to purchase the mounting bracket and I have emailed Netatmo many times with no response. Their customer service dept is horrible. Beware of that. Otherwise wind gauge works well.
