Really fun! This game is impressively simple to learn, and even simpler if you watch the excellent videos explaining the rules online. It has a lot of replay value, and also has the rare gift of being fun even in a group of widely different skill levels. It works much better with the intended four players, but the two-player varient is entertaining too.
My only qualm (and the reason this is a four-star review instead of a five) is that it fails at being accessable to colorblind people- two of the player colors are red and green. While the chickapigs have slightly different art, the hay bales don’t. The company hasn’t responded to my email about this, but in the meantime I just flipped one set of pieces over and drew a set I could tell apart. While this does work, it impacts the aesthetic appeal; hopefully the company will address this in later editions.
We bring this game with us everywhere we go and literally everyone always stops to ask what we're playing because we're always laughing and having so much fun. This is our 2nd purchase of the game, we decided we needed to have one at home and one always in the car. We're a big game family, and we've played them all... there's nothing else like this.... it's easy enough to drink and play, it's strategic enough to keep us engaged and our games typically last exactly the amount of time we spend at a restaurant. You can eat, drink and play. Seriously, it's our go-to. Had to leave a review.
We love this game! I am not going to lie, as a huge Dave Matthews Band fan, I first bought it for that connection, but it has high replay value and I strongly encourage everyone to give it a try. It is really easy to learn but challenging for all ages. We play this as a family with our teenage sons. They put their phones away and don't even look at them the whole time. That is no small feat. The first time we played it they did it almost as a favor to mom, to humor me, but they have since asked to play again and again.
This is a super fun game! My kids enjoy it as well. They are 6 and 8. They caught on quickly. Sometimes I help them strategize a little bit, but they can usually figure out moves they can do. Such a unique concept. Customer service with the company is great too. We ended up missing some pieces and duplicates of other pieces. I contacted them about it and they quickly sent the pieces we were missing. I was very impressed. Check this game out, you will not be disappointed.
LOVE THIS GAME! My wife and I are big board game players and we're always on the look out for great games that can be played with just 2 players. This game is wonderfully designed and a blast to play. It's very easy to learn, but hard to master. It's a little like chess in the sense that you have to plan your moves ahead and other players moves can totally derail your strategy. A very fun and fast game.

Description
Break your flock of chick pigs free while dodging opponents, hay bales, and an unruly pooping cow in this strategic board game. Chick pig breeder and game creator Brian Calhoun joins forces with his farming buddy Dave Matthews to bring this game from the farm to table. “it can be funny, silly, and sometimes really quite brilliant” - Best play “chick pig is better for kids than chess because it introduces chess-like thinking, but in a fun light-hearted way” - Judah Brownstein, former 12th grade National chess champion "I love chick pig! It's engaging, interactive, and has great replay value. Chick pig is Mighty, mighty fun! " -Pete fenlon, CEO Catan Studio "The future looks bright for this farm-to-table age-versatile game. That is, until you slip in the poop and have to pick up a poop card" -Entertainment Weekly "I cannot recommend chick pig highly enough" - Coleman Charlton, managing editor, Catan Studio your first edition chick pig game includes: 1 game box 1 quad-fold game board 6 chick pigs per color 4 hay bales per color 1 cow 1 cow fence 8 cow poops 9 poop cards 9 Daisy cards 1 sand timer 1 custom die 1 rules booklet
Great family game, good competitive 2 player variation. Light strategy, with a dash of take that and the randomness of a dice roll make it fun and entertaining. How can you not love a game with a roaming cow pooping on the board?! Easily taught to kids (I'd suggest 8 yrs and up), nice wooden components and burlap carrying bag. One of those games you will want to play several times in a row and can do so easily as they games are typically about 20-30 minutes long, or shorter if you play with the timer. Solid addition to a game collection as it can be a family game or a sit around and enjoy an adult beverage and screw over your friend kinda game. Price point might be a little high, but the components are of good quality and the amount of replay you can get out of it still make it cheaper than a night out at the movies. Serious gamers will be annoyed by the Poop and Daisy cards, but there are plenty of more serious games out there, this one is strictly about fun!
Our family likes playing board games on occasion. This game was a hit. Everyone likes it and the kids (teenagers) have incorporated it into our rotation of family games. It is challenging, but not overly so. It is easy to learn and encourages some laughs with the "pooping cow" The game also appears to be good-quality
This game has simple rules and would be easy for young kids to play, but it also has enough strategy to be fun and challenging for adults. I've played it with several people and everyone always loves that it's so unique. One of my friends described it as "chess, but with farm animals and poop." I also like that most of the pieces are made on a farm in Virginia.
We were looking for another game to add into the rotation. My husband and I played a two player game with our 4 year old and had a blast. I wasn’t sure whether it would work but we all had so much fun strategizing, even my 4 year old was talking about how to block mommy’s pigs. Simple game but very fun. Suggested age is 8+ but I challenge that statement, younger kids would understand this with help of an adult. Definitely will be apart of our game nights with friends, especially where kids are in attendance. Not cheesy at all.
This would make an excellent gift to a family with kids 8+. Pieces were well made and instructions were easy to understand, not complicated at all.
This is my honest review of this game. Please let me know how If it was “helpful.”
Fun game where 2 or 4 players strategize how to move their chickapig, hay bale and a pooping cow to get their chickapigs to the goal on the other side of the board. Each player has their own colored chickapigs and hay bales in red, yellow, green or blue. A player rolls a die that decides how many moves he/she can make. Each move can be a combination of moving your own hay bale, own chickapig or the pooping cow. A chickapig moves straight or sideways until it hits an obstacle (hay bale, other chickapigs, poop, the cow or fence). You win when you gets all six chickapigs into the goal. Along the way a player can roll a two to get a daisy card (good) or can land in poop and gets a poop card (bad). If only two players playing each player would have to control 2 of the 4 colored sides.
We purchased this game for family game night. Both our 5 and 9 year old really enjoyed playing the game. It took a couple rounds of playing for them to fully understand the rules of the game. Highly addictive and new strategy each time you play.
A few things I would recommend to improve the game. One, the wooden pieces should have already been popped out of the larger piece of wood. You can get splinters. Second, wish the instructions and actual board were more clear about where the goal posts are. They are very faint lines in the middle of the board on the opposite of each colored chickapigs.
