I purchased this nightstand because I enjoyed the usefulness of a bedside table to utilize in my dorm, but the cheap folding bed shelf that I previously bought from Bed Bath & Beyond had not met my expectations. My initial nightstand was made of thick black plastic and had a section of the shelf that was made for being tucked underneath the mattress and on top of the box spring so it was not the most secure but it served the purpose on the most basic form. I was able to rest my pen and journal beside me, but I never rested my iPad or phone on the shelf because if my mattress shifted too much while I was sleeping, the nightstand would become dislodged and I would wake up to my stuff on the floor.
I decided that for my upcoming semester that I needed a upgrade! I purchased this product after doing research to find a product that was innovative, well priced, and did not require complicated assemblage while also being more secure than using my previous nightstand.
This product exceeded my impressions as a customer when it had arrived. I was impressed by the sturdy bamboo and was able to easily assemble the shelf quickly without help. With the screw, I was not able to attach it to the box spring of my bed but I resolved the issue by attaching it to the wooden side of the head board which on majority of twin beds is the bed frame. Ever since I attached it to my bed, it has given me a bigger excuse to just lay in bed to watch Netflix because I can lay on my stomach while I rest my laptop on the BedShelfie and not have to worry about falling asleep and having my laptop knocked off my bed.
I bought the original size for my daughter’s bunk bed and it fits her MacBook Air or her IPad just fine. She likes being able to have some place to put a drink and her phone - especially on the top bunk. All good.
However, it wasn’t large enough to handle my really big, company-issued Dell. Until NOW! I was excited to see they added a larger one.
I’m super pleased that I got the natural color, Its pretty and I prefer it ti the white. Immediately I could see it was made well and didn’t feel like a cheap knock off. Just as easy to put on and the third clamp reinforces its attachment and gives it additional stability.
Yes! My big-*ss computer fits, along with my remote and Kombucha :)
Living in a small NYC apartment, I don’t have room for two bedside tables. So I moved it to the far side of the bed to see how it worked and am I am now afraid the BF is going to steal it.
Suggestion: Sell a discounted multipack? Or allow us to mix and match for our needs. Might need a third.
At first, I was going to try to find something inexpensive but after looking at everything and reading all of the reviews I ordered this product for my son's dorm room. It arrived well packaged and even better than I had hoped. The quality of the product is exceptional, very well built and super easy to install. My son was confident about putting his expensive notebook on it even though the shelf is on the highest part of his loft. The shelf is very solid and looks great.
The BedShelfie was the perfect addition to my son’s new bedroom set. It is solid, good looking and a perfect match for his loft bed.
It hit the Goldilock’s sweet spot. It wasn’t like those cheap, plasticky versions that one finds in bed and bath stores, nor was it like those prohibitively expensive, solid wood, floating bed side tables.
I am also impressed by Chris’s involvement in the transaction. This is a someone whose business I want to support. His enthusiasm is infectious and you can clearly see that he is passionate about his product.
I can assure you this review is real*. I am Canadian and will do everything in my power to order only from Amazon Canada because I hate having to pay the exchange rate and the shipping - our Prime doesn’t extend to US purchases.
But...I was willing to shell out for this and it was worth every penny.
*I don’t trust Amazon reviews anymore, so I am always suspicious of anyone who sounds over the top (like I do in this review - but I sincerely, totally, really mean it.. I even included pictures which I have never done before!).

BACK STORY
Some combination of moving around for work and reading "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up," inspired us to finally free ourselves of our clunky furniture starting with where we started & finished our day - the bedroom.
We hit the interwebs looking for space-saving nightstands and found small nightstands of all kinds.. floating nightstands, narrow, skinny bedside tables but wanted to serve folks like us, who didn't want to invest in anything clunky furniture which would weigh us down from seeing the world.
A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
Building a sustainable future is absolutely paramount to us. We're proud to handcraft the BedShelfie out of Bamboo. Even though Bamboo is technically considered a grass, it's harder than Oak and matures in just 3-5 years (vs 100 years for Oak). So it's an incredible renewable resource.
I like the bamboo Shelfie as opposed to other similar products made of plastic (I admit to buying another, cheaper, plastic version and not liking it at all so I returned it). I am actually using this as a side table on the arm chair of the captain's chair in my RV. The clamp is very large and easily handles wide frames (or in my case, the 2" arm of a chair), but is also padded so it minimizes damage when clamped down. Admittedly, my experience with it in the RV is still limited, but it seems sturdy enough to hold a light meal while driving (not sure I would put a heavy drink on it as the table tends to tip and without a cup holder is more likely to spill anyway). It's a little on the pricier side, but seems well constructed of good materials.
I selected the BedShelfie over other products offered by amazon because I thought it's wood construction would be sturdier. Also, from the product pictures it looked like the mounting brackets would be heavy-duty. Upon receipt of the product I saw that indeed the mounting brackets are heavy-duty and should last for years. The hardware is sturdy with thick felt pads. Unfortunately for me a couple of areas of the BedShelfie were damaged and some of the white finish had rubbed off. I initially thought of sending it back to Amazon but instead I reached out to Chris at BedShelfie using an email address that was included on a card enclosed with the product. I mentioned the issues with the product in the email and Chris got back to me within an hour to ask follow up questions. He shipped me a new BedShelfie the same day. What service! I'm very impressed with the way Chris handled the situation. The second BedShelfie arrived in good condition.
This is a great product. My daugher has an ikea bed with drawers underneath so she can't have a nightstand as it will prevent her from being able to open the drawers. This is the perfect solution. Extremely sturdy. the only modification we had to make was, only one side of the clamp had a felt protector, so we had to affix some fabric to the other side of the clamp to protect the finish on the bed.
This clamp on bed shelf is wonderfully designed. Quite handsome looking, working with any sort of bed that has a flat surface to grab on to. It has clamps at the bottom, out of sight, rubber tipped so that they grip but don't mar, and they screw into position to clamp as tightly as you can. I use mine for holding my alarm clock, remote and a notepad for those middle of the night bright ideas, but it seems sturdy enough to hold much heavier things. It has a small lip useful for keeping things from rolling off, especially if you use it on an upper bunk or loft bed. It's real wood, nicely grained. I plan to use it forever.
Great product. I love how you can fit a laptop on it. The quality is amazing much nicer than the other cheaper knockoff versions. I’ve done my research. This one can hold lots of weight. This one is built to last. So happy with my purchase.
