I would highly recommend this powerful little light to any avid reader. I put it on my Kindle straight off and started reading. The light is very good, both the high setting and the medium setting, depending on how bright you like things. The light is designed very well and it is easily folded and stored in the bag provided with it.

I love the flexible arm that allows me to position the light exactly where I need it and you can arrange it so that it will not leave any hot spot on the screen of your e-reader. The base of the light fits perfectly on my Kindle and does not slip around or cover any of the text what-so-ever.

My husband and I have different biological clocks. He is an early to bed, early to rise person and I am just the opposite. With this light I can read while he sleeps and know that I will not disturb him. We also like to go camping and the light is perfect on a pitch black night in the woods.

Don't waste your money on anything else, this one is perfect!!Kandle by Ozeri Flex in Black -- 2nd Generation LED Book Light for the Amazon Kindle (fits latest generation Kindle and all models), and other eBook readers

I got this light for 1/2 price on Amazon's post-Christmas sale. I am happy with the results given what I paid. If I had paid full price, I think I would have only given 3 stars.

To get the most even lighting, the LED head needs to be extended up as far as possible. This makes the light dimmer. I find the brightness on low to be barely adequate in a completely dark room. On high, it is brighter. If you keep the LED head closer to the Kindle, the light is very bright, but more uneven (brighter at the top).

I've only had the light for a couple of days, so I can't comment on the battery life.

Good:
1) The clip fits my Kindle Touch (with no case) perfectly.
2) Light weight and small.
3) Comes with carrying pouch and extra batteries.
4) No screwdriver needed to change batteries.
5) I found the switch easy to operate (unlike some other reviewers) and unlikely to accidentally turn on.

Bad:
1) Lighting is brighter at top of screen. This is due to laws of physics, and likely to be a problem with all lights of this type. This effect can be minimized with appropriate adjustment of the LED head, but is always noticeable.
2) It takes a bit of fiddling to get the light adjusted properly. You need to hold the clip on the Kindle with one hand while flexing the head with the other hand. You need to flex a bit farther than you really want and then allow the cable to flex back.
3) The flex cable tends to loosten where it attaches to the clip, and swivels around on its own. I was able to fix this by firmly pressing the cable into the clip. Another reviewer suggested using Super Glue on this joint, and I will try that if the problem ever gets worse.

All in all a decent light, and it is hard to imagine how a different light could work much better than this. Still I am very happy I didn't have to pay full price for it.

Since I have lost 3 others of these ( this is my 4th) at family/friends house, never to be found, hmmm. ;). This review covers all 4 of them over the last 1 or 2 years. I have tried other lights but for me this is the best. I have never had it loose brightness so maybe those that did had a week battery or defective Kandle. I also have never had it not bend easy and/or stay in place where I put it, this too may be a defective Kandle. If you have these problems, contact Amazon and tell them you think it is defective and what it is doing/not doing, wrong. If you have a cover on your kindle you may need to play with things as this is a tight fit. With my cover on my new Kindle (no keyboard) I need to take the top inside corner of the cover loop off my Kindle (I leave it this way and case/cover cover closed or open, no danger of the Kindle sliding out.) .

I was torn after reading some mixed reviews on the Kandle. I wasnt sure if it would be bright enough and worried about the swivel.. I am VERY happy with this. The swivel is perfect, the light reaches to the bottom of my display and the 2 different settings are great! The wide double bulb covers the screen from left to right which is fantastic. I had a different light with just one bulb and found myself shifting it back and forth constantly so that my screen would be lit enough for me to read. Very annoying.. I don't have a glare and am finding it to be perfect for my Kindle and I!

Like most here, I am a late reader who's wonderful significant other can't sleep in anything aside from pure darkness. This has made reading my Kindle in bed difficult and I either must default to playing games on my Android phone(s) (I have 2, one's a work phone) or just trying to go to sleep. I saw this in my recommended section (maybe because I own a Kindle and frequently shop in the Kindle store?) and decided to try it out. It's probably now my favorite light in the house (if my house had a light hierarchy, this would be at the top).

What I liked about it:
1. Two light settings helps keep things a little customizable. Just a little, not a lot. The first (lower) setting is perfect for reading in the pitch blackness while the high setting is actually fantastic for shining on misbehaving dogs in the bedroom or as a light to go to the restroom.

2. Some people are reporting sliding, but I think it's just their version of the Kindle. I have one of the full touch Kindles and it fits mine swimmingly. The only time it slides is if it gets jarred (and I mean really knocked around), but it's easily fixed. I don't worry about this sliding off while reading, but I would try not to hold it if I were going to get bumped around. So don't use this light if you anticipate being socked in the jaw and you'll be fine.

3. The arm is flexible. It takes a little getting used to. You have to do that old school "push it a little further than you want it and it'll bounce back to exactly where you want it" trick that these flexible arms are known for. Once in place it stays in place. In fact, I haven't had to touch it at all since I put it on my Kindle.

Now, the cons
1. You do get screen glare. However, you have to point this light directly at the screen in order to get it. So to avoid the glare, just don't point the light directly at your screen. I point mine toward the bottom of the Kindle itself and I get no glare. The light isn't as strong, but that's why there are 2 settings, after all.

That's about it. I love the look, I love the rubberized feel, I love that the color matches the Kindle almost to the point where it looks like it's part of the Kindle, I love being able to read at night, and I especially love that it doesn't wake my girlfriend up. I'm back to my usual 2-3 books a month routine and I fall asleep a lot easier because reading makes me that good kind of tired. If you need a light and you don't have a lot to spend, buy this one. There's a reason it's among the top rated lights for the Kindle.

Kandle by Ozeri Flex in Black - 2nd Generation LED Book Light for the Amazon Kindle.

I own a Kindle Wi-Fi 6" E Ink Pearl display, and I thought I would purchase a Booklight, since I am always reading in different lighting. The Kindle works great in all types of light, however, it was dim sometimes when reading at nighttime. I picked the Black Kandle, since my Kindle skin is in my favorite color - purple.

When I used the Kandle, it attaches to the top of the Kindle, although I tried attaching it to the sides of the Kindle, but it didn't hold on. I like to rotate my books, so I thought it would be nice to have the Kandle on either side. The "pluses" are:
* LED lights provide great lighting, with no extra heat generated.
* The flex arm is strong and holds the position, once the user finds the optimum position (lighting, etc).
* The padding inside the Kandle does not scratch or damage the Kindle skin.
* It easily folds up, so storage is not a problem if you are traveling. It is also lightweight.

If I could change anything about the product, it would be to have it attach on the sides like it does on the top of the Kindle. Also, it would be nice if the flex arm would be about 2 inches longer, so the bottom of the screen could be lit up, the way the top to middle of the screen currently is.

Thank you for a wonderful product, I am happy with the purchase.

Brightness:
The light has two brightness levels, but the low level is mid-way between off and bright, and hard to select (VERY small switch). Also, the low level is still too bright for me for night reading. Not horrible, but brighter than what I would call LOW at night. The color is stark white (not at all amber) and there are three LEDs in the head, which probably is unimiportant -- not sure how it affects life (brightness vs. consumption) and increases glare if anything (must move all three bulb-reflections off the reading area).

Steerable:
The good news...you can aim the light anywhere you like, which allows you to light th entire page and eliminate glare. I put mine on the top, all the way to the left, as the goose-neck comes from that side. Let's face it...with reading sitting, standing, reclined, on my side, there is no ONE position that will solve all cases. Being able to aim it is VERY helpful to me. The one drawback is that the goose-neck doesn't have very good memory (some might call it too much). It tends to return to a less-bent angle after you position it. Would like it to stay where I position it.

Weight:
You don't even notice that it's on the Kindle. The whole device probably weighs less than a single AA battery. The CR2032 batteries will break you if you buy them at CVS or Walmart, but you can get 25 of them from AMAZON (yippee) for only about $4 (at least as of this time).

Strength:
I have not had it long enough to know if it will hold up. I am a bit worried about the tiny switch and the clamping method. There is no obvious way to adjust the spring tension, for example. Adequate now, but???

Price:
I think this device is WAY overpriced at $25, but I also haven't seen anything that I would like better at up to $40, so it may still be the best overall deal.

ok, I am a traveling nanny and I love gadgets! I have also in the past bought at least 5 other e reader lights for my Kindle. Either the push button switch would turn on a the wrong time and run down the battery or hard to attach to a Kindle case. I saw the review on the Kandle video and thought the light wasn't even. So I investigated and invested in the Kandle Flex. Great buy! The light is even all down the page, easy to attach to a Kindle in a case (mine was the great Acase case)and loved the way it folded into it's own self and slipped easily into pouch. Some worry about the "round batteries" but I see that as the wave of the future. Keeps the weight and size down. Plus, very easy to find and they come with an extra set. Since it has a switch, no worries about turning on accidentally. The light is even and goes all the way to the bottom of the page. So far there isn't anything I don't like about this light. I do wonder how long the bulbs will last and are they replaceable? Will let you know down the line...Great customer service from Kandle, write a review (they didn't say it had to be positive) and they will send you extra batteries as a "thank you". None of the other ereader lights I have purchased in the past came close to this one. So if it lasts in a travel nanny's bag, I can see this as being my last light to buy!

I lost my Kindle Keyboard a couple of months back, and although the new Kindle Paperwhite sounds interesting, I decided to replace my lost reader with another Kindle Keyboard. The Ozeri Flex is the fourth Kindle lamp I've bought, and it's really the first one I've found solidly satisfactory. The flexbile "neck" on the light lets you adjust to avoid glare depending on your reading angle, and the dimmer of the two light settings is fine for my fifty-six year-old eyes. The design is such that I'm able to use is without removing it from Amazon's new twenty buck Kindle Keyboard cover. It's secure on my Kindle with normal movement. The main con about it might be that the flexible neck is more prone to damage, but so far that hasn't been an issue. With this purchase, I'm happy to wait for the second incarnation of the Kindle Paperwhite.

The Kandle by Ozeri Flex will provide a strong, private light for your Kindle reading. I've used this LED light for my Kindle DX, and also with attached leather cover. The Kandle's clip will fit snugly over the Kindle or over the folded-back leather cover (two layers of leather/board), but NOT both the kindle AND the leather cover, so it might take you a few moments to properly attach and adjust the clip. The light itself is bright, both in regular and high-intensity modes, but battery life is not as long as suggested in the manual 24 hrs per double pack of CR2032 )- approximately 16 hours would be a better estimate. The stiff, yet flexible lamp neck allows for easy lamp-head adjustment. Despite the shorter battery life, it's a worthy accessory to your Kindle. This light would also come in handy for illuminating dark laptop keyboards, especially the slimmer, newer models.
