I needed to strengthen my hands while recovering in rehab from an extended illness. I am a crafter and make jewelry from wire, stone and polymer clay. But I could hardly bring my workbench to the rehab facility. I remembered that my mother taught me the basics of crochet as a child. I didn't like doing it enough to continue, but now I thought it could help my hands recover strength and dexterity.
I knew I would have trouble holding the regular type of hook, and when I search, I found these with the ergonomic handles. I am very happy I bought this kit since it has the nice little bag, large yarn needles and those little plastic safety pin like pins. Even though I am a beginner, I have used everything. And as an artist/crafter I LOVE tools, so these are nice to have.
In the beginning, my hands were so weak that after a half hour my hands were shaking. But I persisted and as time passed, it became easier and easier. I still have a hard time maintaining proper tension, but I now find that I don't want to stop crocheting. I gotta finish just one more row... just one more row..... :D
The photo is of a scarf that I have been crocheting. As can be seen, the edges are uneven because of tension issues. But I'm making this as a practice piece. After all a master is one who practices something 10,000 times, not someone who practices 10,000 things once....
Bottom line - I love this kit and I highly recommend it.
I am an absolute beginner and I have found this kit to be so helpful. Everything is just as pictured on here. I am now half-way done with a scarf and am so pleased to have this little kit by my side. I don't have anything to compare it to, but I find these crochet hooks to be very comfortable in my hands. They appear to be sturdy and I can imagine them holding up nicely for years to come. I can't wait to continue using these, because I'm absolutely hooked (pun definitely intended) on crocheting!

I've decided to take it up again with the advice of my friend. I love the ergonomic needles. It helps with carpel tunnel. I am pleased with my products. Everything is perfect as advertised.
I finally replaced my ten year old metal hooks with these. I'm making a blanket and I tend to crochet until my arms starts to really hurt. I've wanted to try ergonomic hooks but never took the plunge -- I should have. These are lovely to work with. Despite having my hand further up, I don't clench the hook as hard with reduces tension in my arm and neck. The bag the hooks come in is adorable, and the extras are a nice bonus. Only downside might be that the hooks are only marked with their measurements and not letter size. I think most patterns use both though.
I've probably been crocheting since I was a child. My mother did crafts a lot and taught me knitting and crocheting when I was about 7 years old. So I have a collection of tools that are decades old. I just started crocheting with fine crochet thread but being that I am now quite "senior" my fingers cramp up a lot using those skinny classic crochet hooks. I saw sets of ergonomic hooks on Amazon but this set came with some extras and was priced nearly the same as the sets with only the hooks. I figured they would take a month to get to me from Asia being that the price was so low. Well, surprise-- they came to me in two days by UPS! Everything was in a padded mailing envelope but the items within were packaged very nicely and not in a big jumble. The fabric bag is sewn well and the needle case is quite durable. The crochet hooks are smooth metal with handles made of non-slip silicone rubber. I have not done a complete project yet with these hooks but they do feel comfortable in my hand. The only small gripe I have is that it is hard to read the size on the handle. Fortunately they are different colors so I plan to make a color guide so I can find my sizes quickly. the stitch markers are not the type I've used before so I can't really judge them. (Bobby pins work fine for me) In all, I would say this set is a bargain.

Wow! I'm glad I finally ordered this set, after reading the reviews I put it on my list but as always am trying to save money and I have so many old metal crochet hooks that are certainly usable, I kept telling myself I didn't need a new set. Ha! For the price it's the deal of the century! I've been crocheting for about 25 years and have always enjoyed it but with these hooks am enjoying it more. These are so easy to use because of the shorter length, at least for me. I love the rubber handles, easier to hold and the metal ends are easy to maneuver in and out of stitches. My tension is finally no problem to maintain either! I think it's the length of the hook and the way I've always held a hook that I crocheted too loose. Now, it's perfect, yay. I love the bag they came in, the needles are much better than what I was using and the stitch markers are so nice to have. I'd been using a large paper clip, lol. I'd recommend this to everybody who crochets. My shoulder and wrist don't hurt anymore either (at least after crocheting)
Lovely product. The best crochet needles I tried so far. They are smooth and slide through the yarn. And very comfortable to hold. The case is sweet and I love the needles' holder. I accidentally got two, but I liked it so much, that I gave the second one as a present. All and all, a lovely product.

What a great set!! I was not paid for this review neither did I receive my product at a discount. I just bought it off of Amazon. It's really a fantastic deal. If you go to Walmart crochet hooks similar to these are seven or eight bucks each. This is a horse that plus stitch markers plus needles plus a cute little case for less than 10 bucks!! They are perfect!! Well made, very sturdy and totally cute. I love it! So glad I bought.
I bought 2 of these sets, one for me and one as a gift. Only one hook had a small rough spot that would occasionally catch, but some fine sandpaper fixed it easily. I crochet about 3 hours a day and I love these things.
