Yes the initial look at the instructions may be confusing but the picture tells the story. Next to each element for example the leaf in the picture, you need to do the stitch indicated (straight stitch), in the color matching the # shown (10), in the number of strands shown (3)
There are a lot of reviews complaining about this being from China and that language being in chinese. This is true. But there are images that show you the stitches on the directions and the print on the fabric is clean and sharp. I haven't started this yet but so far it looks doable for a beginner. Colors coordinate with the images numbers and type of stich as well as how many strands.
This is not cross stitch though. It's embroidery.
I received this kit today, & I am perfectly delighted! It is definitely manufactured overseas. However, the directions are perfectly understandable. It is simple & lovely. All floss, needles, linen, & the hoop are included.
This was my first try at cross stitch. It turned out great and I added a baby name to the top corner and gave it as a gift. However it was hard to get started. The translation instructions are not great and some of the color string I almost ran out of and others I had a lot. I ended up using different colors than I was suppose to so that I would not run out. Mainly the purple.
All the pieces were in the kit, I had to look for instructions on YouTube as I am a visual learner, but no complaints about this product so far. Not easy for a very beginner but doable with YouTube help.

Love, love, love!! Easy, fun craft project. Directions are translated (in English) from Chinese, but the pictures included make it easy to understand , shouldn't be any problems following the directions. Also, yay that they give you 3 needles, it's all included!!
This kit provides all you need to get started with a potential new hobby. To make things even easier, I'd suggest getting a "threader" and also found that watching videos on how to do these basic stitches really helped speed up the learning curve. I'm appreciative of this kit as it provided me a much needed mental break for a few hours and it was fun to create something in the process.
I was new to the world of embroidery and really had no idea on how to start until I found this and some other similar kits on Amazon. It came with instructions and was easy to get going. I'm absolutely hooked now and would definitely buy more of these kits!
