Petit Collage Beginner Jigsaw Floor Puzzle, Pets

I own 4 sets of petit collage beginner puzzles. The pet set was made of a thicker card board than my older sets and the size of the pieces were a tad bigger too. In all other respects the puzzles were the same type... 3, 4, 5, and 6 piece mini puzzles of a mother (or father) with their baby. Don't expect real science on animal behavior though (goldfish don't rear their young)... just enjoy the puzzles for their fun and potential teaching of skills.

For use: I separate out each animal puzzle and place in its own bag. I label each bag with the number of pieces... that way i can take out the easiest ones first for my son and have him work up to the harder ones. I will give him one at a time and leave it out for him to play with during free time. Once he gets the hang of a particular puzzle... he will get a new one. Once he gets these puzzles down, I will mix a few together so my son has to sort then solve... and eventually we will work up to putting all of them together at once = ) Great way to enforce logic, sorting, and coordination. Only problem would be if a child would get board before completing the entire learning cycle.... if you suspect this with your child... either buy less boxes of these puzzles so there are less to get through or always leave them out and never take them away so the cycle goes faster.

The only downfall of this set is that toddlers tend to put things in their mouths or have moist hands... both of which can harm paper on cardboard puzzles. But I would much rather by recyclable paper than plastic.

Love these! They are the perfect beginner puzzle for my two year old. Sturdy, good quality. We started with the fewest number pieces and after a few days my son was doing all of them. They really helped my son get the concept of puzzles, without being overwhelmed by too many pieces.

There are 4 different, simple puzzles, each with one more piece than the one before. Our 2 1/2 year old really likes them, I thought she’d be frustrated with a “real” puzzle (as opposed to the ones that fit into shaped spaces), but she’s willing to put in the time.

My 2 year old can do these puzzles after practicing once with an adult. The only downside is that the squared off interlocking edges don't stay together very well which makes it more challenging than it needs to be for little hands.

Very cute puzzle set. There are several pieces to an animal. For our daughter who is under two, its a little difficult to put together. We have another set that is 2 pieces to an animal and that works well for now. This set will work once she grows up a little.

Petit Collage Where Design Meets Play

Bought these for my toddler (18 months) at Christmas. He doesn't put them together yet, but he likes when I put them together so he can take them apart.

Great learning puzzle for kids

I wouldn't call these "floor" puzzles, because they are not large, but they are perfect for my 2.5 year old to do by herself!

Does what it is supposed to do. Highly recommend.
