I purchased this remote to use with Parrot's app and with the hopes it would pair with other teleprompter apps as well, and I'm glad it does. While your app it straight forward and easy to use and navigate it has a few bugs and quirks that we find annoying.
The remote and the app work without having to do any additional setup. The controls are straight forward and easy to use, as it should be. But it would be nice if there was a way to add more functionality between the controller and the app like other applications, or even adjust some of the stock functions. Not sure if this is a bug or not, but the return button does nothing within the app. It would make sense if that key could be used to reset the prompter to either a key point or back to the beginning. Also, the speed controls jump at about quarter increments with no way in the app to change this.
Luckily for us, this remote works well with a third party app we already use and allows for some of the functions I mentioned above. While Parrot's app is nice for free software, if you plan to get this remote I would look into other apps for your device. I would give this 5 stars if this integrated better with their native app. But it doesn't.
I don't really know what some other people are expecting from a teleprompter remote - to me, it feels perfectly fine, it works perfectly well (and is practically a necessity with a teleprompter), and I don't think it's overpriced. It's small enough to be easily concealed and held while filming, with buttons that are easy to operate by feel.
The one thing about it is that many of the buttons just don't seem to do anything, while others don't do what you'd expect given how they're labeled. I had to go through and systematically figure out what each button does while the prompter text is actually scrolling before I could really use it intuitively. I think this is probably a generic Bluetooth remote that Parrot has just appropriated to use with their app. But it works well; you just need to learn what each button does.
I tried it with Simple Teleprompter as well, and while it did sort of work, and may work well enough to use for some people, not all the functions worked that are available in the Parrot app. It works better with the Parrot app, so that's what I use now. (Just watch the video on how to set up Dropbox; that's really the only good way to get scripts into the app.)
I do interview videos for political candidates and my process has improved exponentially. My 'subjects' are natural and at ease and our sessions go quickly. The price/quality ratio is outstanding. In addition, the remote is well worth including. The Parrot app works well with my Android Samsung 6 edge. The remote instructions are clear and pairing is easy. One caveat though, the raised button on the remote emits an audible click that may be picked up with sensitive mics.
Works perfectly! And the Parrot App is a great teleprompter. This remote is seen as a keyboard, so I have to turn it off in order to edit the text. But that's a small issue. Just having a reliable app and remote in the field is a must! The remote also works with other teleprompter apps as well.
Theres alot of buttons on this thing. But really only one seems to work the parrot program. I can start and pause the teleprompter but cant seem to get the others to function. Not that i need them. It very well may be operator error. All i need is start and stop so it works for me.

Does what it says it does.
Works as intended, easy to use and easy to pair via bluetooth. It could be greater with other kind of buttons, like with a TV Remote control, but nothing to complain, works fine.
Works like it said it would.
