mifold One The Non-Folding Grab-and-Go Booster, Grey

This is our 2nd mifold car seat to purchase. I honestly don't love the original because it folds in half. It seems to really confuse the children that sit in it. They think its supposed to go up onto their back. So when I was looking for a new car seat for my almost 5 year old I wasn't sure we'd go with another Mifold. But when I saw Mifold One I was so excited to see that others must have had the same feelings about the original as I had. It installed quick and takes up way less space than a high back booster. Not sure about traveling with it and if it will be an issue if my daughter falls asleep in the car. I guess we'll see. I purchased because it seemed to be very difficult for her to buckle into the high back booster and buckling is never an issue when she sits in her big sisters Mifold. I'm happy they made updates to the original. My daughters love these seats because they feel like big girls.

I purchased two of these for a vacation. I have a 4 1/2 and 7 1/2 year old who both use a 5pt harness when at home. These were a great alternative for using Uber/Lyft on a daily basis for 10 days. While the base has a solid weight to it, they aren't too heavy to carry around in a back pack all day. My older child used the largest setting and my youngest used the smallest setting. Your child still needs to be able to fully sit up straight during a car ride and not fall asleep as with any standard backless booster. The top strap brings the seat belt down to the shoulder to position it correctly. The bottom threads position the seat belt across the lap portion of the child. We had used a Bubble Gum Booster seat on a prior vacation for the older one and the seat belt still did not fit correctly on her shoulder as it didn't allow for that adjustment. This booster is better for children of all heights (but within the range of being able to use a backless booster). I would not recommend this for full time use of a younger child, but it's good for travel and to keep as a backup for carpooling of friends.

So far very satisfied. Just got these and installed them today. Bases are extremely hard, but being able to comfortably fit everyone is worth it. My 6 year old can buckle herself now, with a high back booster she never couldn't. It does take a little bit for the kids to get the hang of buckling and unbuckling themselves but it's an easy adjustment.

When I was reviewing booster seats, I found mifold and loved the concept, but I read a few reviews that said they didn’t like that it folded. Then I saw this mifold One, which is also so small and easy to take away but it doesn’t fold, it’s really an ingenious product.

This seat is going to perfect for our 7 year old to use when our 3rd baby arrives this summer! It’s compact and she can easily take it with her from car to car. It’s compact size also makes it easier to fit in the middle. Looping and in looping the seatbelt from the seat is taking some practice but is definitely something that will be doable for her. I had the opportunity to try the original mifold prior to purchasing this and this by far seems much more stable, my daughter seemed to struggle to stay on the other seat but does not have the same problem with this one. I’m not sure if I would use this for a child as young as 4 even if they did meet the height and weight minimum as it gives the child freedom to move around ( same as a standard backless booster).

Description

mifold One is the non-folding grab-and-go booster seat. It is the most compact and storable booster ever and it's just as safe. mifold One is the first non-folding mifold!

Stores so easily! I just put it in the back seat pocket. Give yourself 5 minutes to figure out how to adjust it the first time, then it's as quick as any other carseat. My 4 year old grandson doesn't complain about comfort, as some have in other reviews.

When my husband first showed me this seat he had ordered, I was a little skeptical. It is very small and doesn’t look like its so comfortable but this seat is so easy to use and works really really well! It is totally different from any other seat I have ever come across as it doesn’t “boost’ the child it brings the seat belt down to fit. Somehow I feel like my kid is much more secure in this.

We love this for its convenience. It’s not our every day booster, but on days when I drive extra people, I use 2 of these along with a traditional booster in the back seat of my 3-series BMW. It’s the only way I can carry 3 kids.
Is a little difficult for the kids to stay themselves it (they are 8), but are learning how to do it. I always check to make sure they’ve secured the strap across their laps snugly and through both sides.

The concept is great - easy to use, easy to pack and carry. Worked well for my daughter wrt setup, safety, and buckling.

Seat is barely padded though, and she did complain about seat comfort for any rides over five minutes. Enhancing the seat with additional high density foam would go a long way towards boosting seat comfort - so the seat could be comfortable for longer duration trips.

So - great travel companion, but definitely don't use this as your seat of choice if you're planning on taking an extended multi-hour car trip!

We have been fans of miFold for quite some time, owning 2 of the foldable boosters for over a year now. So, when we saw the mifold One offered, we decided to try it out. My pint sized 9 year old, is in LOVE with it and says it is super comfortable even on longer rides. Because it doesn't fold, it is a little harder to put in a purse or smaller bag, but you can carry it pretty much anywhere you would carry an iPad. Considering buying another....the more the merrier!
