Kept young kids busy and quiet for hours!
We had our extended family over for Mother's Day which included six young kids.
Very rainy day, needed something to entertain the kids. This kit kept the kids busy for a very long time! Even the young boys made bead animals to give to their mama for Mother's Day!
The instructions were printed in black and white on one 8.5x11 sheet of paper. Each animal instruction was a black and white image with numbers to indicate which color bead to use.
The instructions were written in steps which require the ability to read. The directions did not show step by step details, it was a little confusing. But one of the mothers had experience and showed the kids how to place the ends of the rope in each side of the bead. This step was very confusing, an image or diagram should be included.
But after the demonstration, the kids were busy creating critters for hours!
My kids love this little set. I showed my seven year old twins how to do it and then they could do it independently. My 5 year old needed more help. We started out with the simple designs such as the ladybug and penquin and worked up to the butterfly which are more intricate. I'm thinking this will be a fun craft for them at Christmas time to make ornaments. The directions to start it were great but it doesn't tell you how to tie it off at the end. I made a simple knot and used a lighter to melt it all together so it would be stronger
Got this for my 7 and 9 yr old boys as a gift. They at first didn't want it, they said it was "girlie" but I took it out one day and started making a lizard in front of them and they both joined in fast. We had fun and will be picking up more beads soon. My 7 year old needed help with his, but my 9 yr old could do it on his own.
Bought for 7 yr old granddaughter and she found it easy enough to follow the directions. I have done these before so I explained how the lacing of the beads worked and she was able to make the pets she wanted to. Lots of beads and a handy bead box for storage. Not enough compartments to keep each color separate but was not a deal breaker for us. Glad to have a storage box.
Christmas gift for 10 year old boy. It has been a hit. He didn’t follow any of the color suggestions but we still had sufficient beads in the kit, plenty of materials and the instructions were pretty easy to follow.

My 6 year old daughter LOVES making these! Loads of beads so that you can make a number of keychains. Would make a great gift for the crafty child.
Fun kit that will keep the kids entertained. Comes with everything you need except flue to seal the ends of the string.
Instructions were a little challenging for the kids to follow so I found a video for them to watch
Cute project. My kids are 9 & 10 and it was perfect for their age. Putting the beads on correctly can be a little tricky the first few times so younger ones will need help. My kids have loved them tho. Worth it.
The directions aren’t really directions so I had to YouTube it. The strings is also super silky so they fell apart within a day of making them. Might have held up longer if we burned the knots at the end. Other than that it was pretty good.
Once you figure the directions out this is fun to do with your kids. Some of the patterns are a bit difficult to figure out so you just have to play with it some. I’d recommend the company put some sort of string measurer in the box. Not everyone is good at eye balling a length.
