This is totally worth the 25 bucks. You can transfer it between vehicles and for most dashes will stick right on.

The mount is not shaky, creepy, or short of features. It held my iPhone X (with case), and before that it held my iPhone 6s Plus. I use this for long distance travel and commuting and t is perfect. The mount makes it very easy to load and unload your phone and change the orientation. This new model looks best out of all of them.

You can see in my pictures this new version set side by side with the last model. The functionality is the same but I believe it is way more pleasing to the eye.

This is my third gen iOttie device - and they just keep getting better. My only gripe (not worth a deduction) is that in my current car, the weight of my iphone 8 plus hanging at an incredibly low angle kept tearing the stick disk off the dash - something I had never experienced in other configurations with less weight at that angle. So I glued the disk to the dash (thanks Shoe Goo!), and no more issues.

This is one of those simple devices that is extremely configurable. It can be flipped over, extended, and there are joints and hand-turn adjustments that can support some pretty wild configurations. It easily holds my iPhone 8s with its large case, and snapping the phone in or out is simple.

I didn't want a magnet and searched for a while to find the 'right' dashboard mount. Everyone who gets in my car mentions it. It is sturdy and easy to use with one hand (I have small hands). I like that I can put anyone's phone in the mount so if something else directions, I can just pop their phone in so I can see it. It swivels and sits nicely. I have it on backwards and stretched out because I have t-rex arms. I didn't use the sticky thing that came for dashboard mounting. It is on my dashboard but just using the suction cup as if it were on the window.

It is awesome and my sister and daughter want to order one as well.

First let's talk about the adhesive. Been using iOttie mounts in the past, and the adhesive is easy to pull out with some concentrated force, but may leave a mark depending on the surface area you apply it to. For windshields it'll do fine, but for soft dashboards it may leave a permanent mark (especially with a prorogued heat exposure). You can wash it away, but you have to use a tough cleaning supplies, use a good brush, and/or use a lot of force. From the iOttie I still own/have around/didn't give away (iOttie Easy Flex 3) the adhesive seems the same.

-I like how they have a dashboard pad this time around. This is great if you plan to upgrade, or change mounts with circular adhesives without having to remove the mount entirely from the dashboard/whatever surface you put it on. The adhesive on the dashboard pad unlike the mount itself is a one time use according to the manual in the box. Decided where to put carefully before putting pressure on it. I have not tested or plan to remove the dashboard pad (maybe if I decided to buy a new car?), but there's an option purchase the dashboard mound separately; in case you need an other one, or plan to move the mount around frequently

-Customization. The mount has several adjustable settings to get the viewing angle you want:

1. Foot adjust. Angle to the vertical height to get center grip on your phone. If you have a 4 to 5.5 inch phone you should be fine (unless the volume/power button is too low), but for a 6 inch phone you may want to lower it to get a better center point grip.

2. Cradle Knob. Change from portrait to landscape mode. When changing to landscape, I'd always turn it counterclockwise (if you live in US, opposite if you live/travel/drive elsewhere) so the feet is facing the passenger side because if you make a sharp turn on a U-exit ramp on the highway, your phone may slip out of the holder. The grip does do a good job, but for phone safety reasons, better safe than sorry.

Seeing that it's on a ball pivot it's also able to fine tune the angle you want

3. Telescope Knob. 1 inch extension from version 3 I believe. Good if you have short arms or don't like reaching out the extra inch to get to your phone.

4. Pivot Knob. Change virtual position of mount up to 225 degrees. Good if you want to change from a flat surface to a higher one that needs to be angled differently

A lot of ways to customize for best fit. Wish there was a base rotation also, but that may interfere adhesive?? Maybe they'll implement it in version 5?

-One Touch Mounting System
Just touch-and-go. Provides enough grip to secure your phone/GPS without damaging it. I have a Pixel 2 and the grip does not interfere with the Active Edge/Squeeze feature.

Releasing requires you to push in release bars on both ends before pulling out your phone or gps device

-Size. the mount is a bit bulky and may look a bit out of place if you own a sports car for example. But if you care more for functionality than fashion you'll be fine

-Placement. Best location to put your mount in my opinion is to place it on the windshield left driver seat for quick access while still retaining optimal view when driving (watch out for sharp turns with windows open on landscape mode as mentioned before).

An other car mount alternative, and the mount I use daily is Rock Car Mount Adjustable GPS Bracket Air Vent Phone Holder for Smartphones - Silver

It does have some negatives though like it only can be placed in portrait position, if you have thick case it may be an issue, and it takes up a ventilation (AC/heater space). The alternative fit's my lifestyle though as it's not too bulky, I never use landscape mode, there are no extreme temperatures where I live, the left driver side vents* is the perfect position for me to view and do quick button presses when needed**, doesn't block any viewing angle off the windshield, easy to slide in and out (no need to fiddle with release knob and buttons).

*when using vent mounts make sure there's option to close vents unless you want extreme cold/hot temperatures to damage the back of your phone
**drive safe. priority is keeping your eyes on the road!

Overall, love the included dashboard pad as it gives options for future use, mount upgrades/replacements. The mount itself is a bit bulky, but works as intended.

UPDATED REVIEW!! 6-15-18
•Original review was 2-Stars but now it’s updated to 5-Stars

• iOttie has excellent customer service. I contacted them about my disappointment that my first one would not remain mounted, they promptly sent me a new iOttie Easy One Touch 4. They look identical but the new one worked flawlessly. I took it out of box placed the new one on my windshield and it has stayed mounted for a full week now with no issues. I’m so happy this second one operates correctly because I like the design of product and really wanted it to work for me.

OLD ORIGINAL REVIEW on 5-20-18
I like the design and ease of use, but I’ve been unable to get this to stay mounted on the windshield or dashboard.

I’ve had it for a week now, unfortunately the longest it’s remained mounted was for 2 days Friday & Saturday on the windshield & I didn’t have my iPhone 6s inside it for most of that time for fear it would crash again.

I’m not sure what to do..

Absolutely love this phone car mount. Incredibly secure hold not only on the dashboard but with my phone. I like that it has an opening at the bottom so that I can run my USB charging cord to the phone when my phone is mounted. I tried the vent one, but the mount wouldn't stay in the vent. The CD kind was not an option.

This is my third iOttie (I have one of the earliest ones and a newer one that extends). For this vehicle, I wanted one that would extend and then be able to drop below 180 degrees so that the phone hangs a big below my dash. This one's ability to pivot 225 degrees made all the difference. I can keep it in eyesight without it taking up too much of my vision out.

I have recently found that the base plate that you stick to the dash for the suction cup to stick to does not stand up to even marginal heat that your dash may encounter. Yesterday my car was parked in the sun on a 70-80 degree day and when I went to put my phone back on the mount, the mouth just fell right off the dash. The mount then would not adhere back to the plate because it had become warped from the heat. I now just have the mount stuck to the window, which works great and all, but it is not my desired location for it.

The mount itself is great and sturdy if you are just wanting to stick something to the windshield. If you are like me and wanted something to be mounted to your dash, use a different plate to suction to. The one they provide isn't very sturdy if your dash heats up even marginally.

I researched a lot before buying this car mount. I have been using it for quite awhile now, and I have no complaints. Here was why I chose those one, and how it does on each point.
- Secure Mount: Has never fallen off.
- Securely holds TWO very different phone sizes: It does do this successfully. I have an iPhone 5s, and my wife has an iPhone 6+ which is quite large in comparison. We both have Otterbox cases. The 6+ is snug, but fits! My phone fits quite easily.
- Ability to charge via cable with phone mounted: Yep, I can do that. Works just fine.
- Adjustable at multiple angles to best suit the mount placement in each car: I bought two for cars with very different windshields and with very different placement needs - a slanted windshield in a sportier car vs a sedan windshield, a high dash vs. a moderate dash. Both worked out nicely given the adjustments available on the mount.
Great purchase. Never a daily frustration, which is what I wanted in a mount. I also feel safer with my phone up within my line of vision.

I'm starting to like this one way better than my CD phone holder. It's so simple to use. I love that I don't have to fiddle with it to squeeze the phone. All you do is press it against the back and it locks shut. Super easy. And the suction has been sticking without any problem even when I drive on bouncy fire roads. I would strongly recommend this phone holder. I may end up replacing my CD one with this one!

Don't bother with those crappy 'vent' mounts. They're all terrible and will probably just mess up your car's vents.

This product is vastly superior, and a great price! I bought two of these (one for myself and my wife) and we couldn't be happier. Installation was a breeze, and daily usage is also supremely easy! You won't regret buying this universal car mount. If you don't want to stick it to your dash, you can use the window. We both mounted ours on the dash (never was a big fan of window mounts because of the blocking of the view, but on the dash it works perfectly.
