I know there is a bit of debate on this product talking about the pros and cons, and for me love the product.
It provides what you need and function very well without having any dangling cable around it.
And it goes great with my front door color.
After Days of experience, am more relying on the product. The notification sent to my apple watch immediately and recorded video from my phone tells me why. Convenient and worry free!!
I was looking for a different type of security camera because I’m not a handy person and I couldn’t screwing or bolting something to the door without permission from the HOA. This door cam was the answer. first of all installation was simply just placing the doorcam on top of the door - No screws, no bolts, nothing. Moreover, as I put the battery on and connected to my home Wi-Fi it started to work right away. I found that I needed to adjust the sensitivity of the motion detection a little bit but it really works quite well and reliably.
I've been using every product from Remo+ including Remobell and Remocam. Very satisfied with their products, I planned to buy another Remobell and ended up with buying this new DoorCam. Even though all the doorbells look fancy by themselves, they may not blend with your door particularly you have a door with classic design. This DoorCam having the "Over The Door" design blends with any door not creating an ugly mismatch. The "Over The Door" design comes with a WiFi module inside the house, which allows reliable WiFi connection with wireless AP. I was able to install it in just 5 minutes. No worry to lose the doorcam itself. (The old attachable design allow some ambitious to detach and take doorbells themselves.)

I initially rated this product 4 stars because I couldn't complete setup on my Pixel2/Android 8.1.0. When connecting directly to DoorCam to configure wifi settings, the app would not acknowledge the connection . I was able to complete setup with my old HTC phone with no issues. Since then I've been using doorcam for a while and in retrospect this initial hurdle is insignificant. This device proven to me many times over its value: the security monitoring, awareness of what is actually happening at the front door of my residence and peace of mind it offers are invaluable, and the performance has been stellar and reliable.
In terms of product installation it's true to what is shown in a video. Super easy. The mounting can only be adjusted in width to fit the door just right, there's no way to move camera up or down. The clearance for door jamb is 7/8" (for some reason this information is not on any of the spec. sheets).
The app is easy to use, and you can fine-tune the functionality in terms of motion sensor sensitivity, video quality, frequency of notifications and night mode settings. Any selections made will require you to physically commit them to the device by pressing its button. So you can only make changes while you're right there!!
When I initially installed the device, at random the video feed was distorted and pixelated. I contacted Remo support. They were quick to respond and were very helpful. I was able to achieve practically perfect recordings in high quality by manually over-riding my wifi band to a less crowded channel. If your band is on a noisy channel because of your neighbors APs, at some point interference does affect the video quality. It's not the fault of the device hardware, it's the issue with quality of data transfer over jammed wireless channel. If you do run into this issue, use one of many free wifi analyzer apps to figure out which 2.4GHz band works best for you, and you'll solve this problem.
Couple of things I wish Remo could improve on:
- Recordings are only accessible via app, you won't be able to use a browser to access the files. The footage can be downloaded and it's a few MB in size, so shared very easily, but I would prefer the convenience of a browser access for archived clips for when I'm in the office. It would also avoid me using up phone screen time and draining the battery.
- The only way to disable the device is to pull the batteries. I wish remo had "suspend detection/recording" option built into the app. There are instances when I don't want the DoorCam on, but for now I just slip it off the door and store it away when I don't need it.
- The videos are 30 seconds. I wish they would last for the duration that motion sensor is engaged. The camera will continue recording recording if motion continues for longer, but you get several 30 second clips for a single event.
In terms of sound quality device does a great job. The audio is clear.
Ideally you should hardwire a security camera (power/ethernet), but in my case this is not an option. So DoorCam is an ideal solution for me!!. I got this because I've had some delivery packages stolen, and this gives me a peace of mind while I'm not at home. It's great to see when packaged dropped off and who shows up at my door.
The device's performance has been stellar and longer I use it, more I appreciate it. The video quality is excellent, even in night vision mode. I get a clear recording when someone is in range of the motion sensor (so even if they're wearing a hat, the camera is able to get a clear view of the face when person is approaching the doorway). The battery life is very good too. It's also reassuring to know that the company really stands behind their product and is always there to help is need arises. I would absolutely recommend this device for someone who lives in an apartment.
I want to really really love this! I’ve been looking for something like this for a long time.
Overall it’s a product I would recommend and already have. The setup was extremely easy and I like that it has the ability to live view. The camera quality is sufficient and I have had no issues with erroneous motion activations or lag times.
However, there are some improvements needed. It’s super frustrating when you try to live view or accept a motion alert and the image won’t upon until the third or fourth try and the person at the door has already left. I often get the alert or attempt to view live and the image remains black with the spinning circle before the video screen “closes” and jumps to “Recent Activity”. These same actions will happen repeatedly before I can view an image. Even if I close and reopen the app.
Customer Service was great and their support team should be I touch soon to address this issue. I sure hope those kinks can be worked out because this good product has the potential to be absolutely amazing.

I first saw this on Facebook and it immediately caught my eye. I have been looking at all the different cameras that are made for your main entrance and I thought I'd give this a try. Bottom line, I absolutely love it. Easier than easy to set up and it seems the longer that I have had it, the quicker it becomes at recognizing motion. Still haven't been able to put it on my front door, really considering returning it now. Only because I cant use it and it was a pretty penny plus... I have it on my dresser now with the sensor faced down so what it sees it complete darkness, no movement. . .this is about the second time that no one is here but me, not even in the same room and I get a message saying something about motion detected. Freaking scary and creepy to hear it and listened to playback when I haven't made a sound but hear stuff in the background....
I love this product! I was kind of on the fence because of the reviews but it has GREAT picture quality. Even in the settings on the app you can choose what kind of picture quality you want. Now let's talk about sound quality. Sound is good but its choppy sometimes if there is very loud sound in the background (TV, people etc.). Tested and proven. The video is of my hallway in my apartment BECAUSE it doesn't fit in my doorway only because my apartments has extra weather guard on there which sucks. But I plan on adjusting that because I bought it for my front door and i really like and need it. So this is VERY MUCH a money worthy product.
Other than having to use “D Cell” batteries, I love this camera. Serves my purpose well and the storage video service is reasonably priced 👍🏼
Easy installation, no issues connecting to wifi, works well, and just super convenient. This Remo+ DoorCam is perfect for what I needed, and I'm glad I made this purchase. It's super lightweight, literally just hangs over the door, is easy to setup and install, and I get all the alerts on my mobile device. I haven't found any problems with it so far, but we'll have to test it out for another week or so. Every time someone walks in/out, it's captured all the movement and videos come out pretty clean. I live in a condo complex with the door access leading straight outside, and it seems to work great! I would imagine it to work even better in places that aren't affected by the outside (like closed-building styles apartment complexes). I'd recomment this product to all my friends for sure.
I love how this slides over your door. Super nice for someone like me who is renting. I also like how it sends video staright to your phone. So I'm always aware of any movement going on outside my front door. Keeps me feel secure even when I'm away from home.
