I tried to order my husband the "Head Above the Clouds" giraffe decal several weeks ago and now Amazon is saying they can't get it at all. Looking around it appears that for some reason, Amazon seems to not be carrying these decals anymore. Not sure why because I love mine! You can still get them directly from the manufacturer, btw (plenty of stock and ships immediately) AND I discovered that you can have a custom decal made. I can't post a URL in my review, but I'll leave a comment to my review with a link to the DecalGirl site. Hopefully Amazon will not discontinue this product but if they do, note that you CAN still get them directly from DecalGirl. Good luck!

I kept eying this skin every now and then for several months but always held off because of the price. I finally gave in and purchased it about a month ago and now every time I look at my Kindle, I'm glad I bought it. When I see my husband's plain old black Kindle, it just looks sad. :-)
My experience:
- Easy to Apply: I figured it would be a nightmare to get this skin on perfectly over all those little keys, but it was much easier than I thought and very forgiving. Start with the keys, go slow, and don't press down firmly until you've got it where you want it. I did end up trimming the back piece just a hair with an Exacto knife because it was touching the page keys and they were sticking to it. Easy to trim it and you can't tell. Don't forget to apply the little pieces on the front (4 for each of the page turning keys and one for the center select button).
- Durable: I use my Kindle every day and take it just about everywhere I go. This skin is not showing any signs of coming off, being scratched, etc. [I do use a BUILT Neoprene Sleeve for my Kindle when I take it outside of the house to help keep the Kindle itself from being hurt or smashed somehow. This product is of course just a skin as it clearly states in the description of the product and it won't protect your Kindle from trauma.]
- Beautiful skin: looks just as good in person as it does in the pics.
- Price: Perhaps a bit pricey for a sticker, but honestly the product is pretty awesome. I would buy it again.
I knew I needed a skin for my Kindle and I had finally narrowed it down to the Van Gogh - Blossoming Almond Tree and this one. I'm so glad I went with the forest! It's so bright and cheery even my husband noticed it. Applying the skin to your Kindle can be frustrating and it took me a couple of tries to get it on just right. I think it would've been easier to apply if it came with one of those squeegees/cards you sometimes get with the skins and screen protectors. When you apply the back I suggest starting at the top and work your way down, but when you're applying the front skin start with the keyboard section first.
I love my new Kindle 3 and I wanted to give it a little bit of personality so I decided to buy this skin. I bought the white Kindle because I thought it would look better with the skin and it is adorable. I really love how my Kindle looks with this Skin. True it isn't too "protective" but I didn't buy it for protection I bought it more for aesthetic purposes. I bought a separate carrying case for that which matches well with the skin as well. I added a photo of both the case and the skin about if you want to check them out.
And it was super easy to apply. I put the skin on right away on my new Kindle and all I needed was a pair of tweezers for the small pieces and the 2 big pieces were pretty easy. When it was a little off it was simple enough to peel it off and re-apply. Really love it!
As soon as I found out I was getting a Kindle 3 I knew I wanted a skin to make it more fun. My husband picked this design out for me and I applied it immediately. It takes some concentration to line everything up but it was a lot easier than I expected. It is also pretty easy to re-align if you mess up.
All in all this is a high-quality skin that is easy to apply and looks fantastic. Like others have mentioned it is not distracting while I am trying to read, but when I want to notice it, I certainly do. And it makes me smile!
The decal I ordered is gorgeous. It is very easy to apply. The letters are the hardest part, but they push out easily and actually make lining up the skin easier. The hardest part, I found, was the large back piece. But, it went on with no wrinkles and I could easily pull it off and realign after I had it in place. The picture for the product is very accurate. I would definitely buy again.

I love my Kindle skin! This looks great on my white Kindle (better looking than the graphite one pictured) and was fairly easy to apply. It took a few tries but was much more manageable than I anticipated. I was concerned that having the colorful border around the screen would be a distraction but it's not at all...I'm happy to have some personality slapped onto the device and happy that it virtually disappears once I start reading.
I am so excited with this skin. I have my kindle in a cover to protect it but now when I open it, my kindle looks awesome. What a way to brighten up the white and black choices of the kindle. Was easy to apply, you just have to go slow and steady to get on even.
This was so much easier to apply than I'd anticipated! I thought it would be difficult to line it up over the keyboard buttons but it really was simple. I'd figured it would be like other vinyl I've used but this is made from really thick vinyl - very durable. I wasn't very worried about tearing or stretching it! I'm totally loving my Kindle skin (I even plan to buy another in the future, just for something different) I get a ton of compliments and queries on where to purchase them.
this skin is beautiful. it fits perfectly and is easy to apply and adjust, if needed. it looks like a part of the kindle, not like something that was applied onto it. i wanted to personalize my kindle and give it a bit of protection while i read. i'm still buying a carrying case for when i take it places. this cover (and my kindle, which i love love love!) are even better than i'd hoped for and i couldn't be happier.
This Kindle skin is cute and fits perfectly. I do advise that when applying, give yourself some time. I sat at a table and put mine on with the aid of my reading glasses and some tweezers. I also appreciate the person putting their picture of the product on this site. It helped me make a decision. It was difficult to imagine what the skin would look like after applied to a white colored Kindle. I really like this though...with it being super cold outside and the ground constantly covered in snow these days, the colors and design make me smile when I see it.
