I bought a magic chef original... it arrived broken so I was finally refunded my money and stuck with getting rid of it.... So I went and did a search on a better dryer in hopes I wouldn't have to go through what I did with the other one. There was one review, I liked it so I bought it and I'm so GLAD I did!!!! I love this dryer and very happy I bought it. It's very quiet and it does stop when the clothing is dry. Only downside to all dryers.... I really wish they had handles lol But everything I can fit into my Haier portable washer fits just fine in the dryer.
Four uses so far, it does what it says it advertises to do. Mine came with the front and back footers on the door swivel side of the unit caved in, but i blame that on the delivery, they must have sandbag-dropped it on the ground because the damage looks even on both footers, so be gentle how you treat the unit. The performance: Don't expect it to perform like a traditional 350v tumble dryer at the highest settings. Basically, this unit requires twice the amount of time as that of a traditional tumble dryer, but it does dry clothes 100% dry. I've tried all the wrapped racks with the fan heaters at the bottom units that are on the market and they require too much labor and clothes don't come out 100% dry. With this unit, just put the wet clothes in, a wrinkle static sheet, set the timer and done, it just takes longer than a 350v tumbler.
Love this dryer, compact, easy to use, dries almost up to 16lbs of clothes of mostly cotton material in 60mins, for thicker ones I'd add another 30 mins of drying. Warms up good and need enough ventilation in the laundry room, but with the provided expandable hose, we just put it over the window with the windows open and let the air flow in the room. Cleaning the filter every once in a while helps the dryer heat up and dry the clothes well. I will try to put in wool dryer balls next time and see if it makes the drying time even shorter. The packaging needs more improvement, one of the feet is a bit dented but luckily it didn't affect the functions of the dryer. Overall it's a good small investment, I recommend this dryer to households on strict budget, have limited space, and those who want to save time going to the laundromat.
If you have never used a 110 dryer then you will think that this takes forever to dry. If you don't have 240 power, then you are going to be stuck with a slow dryer. If you have used a 110 dryer then you will be impressed with how much faster it is, about 2 hours instead of the usual 3. It has s sensor to detect when the load is dry, though with heavy loads (ie. lots of towels) it will turn off before it is done.
I love that the tumbler keeps changing directions. When drying sheets it does a great job of preventing them from bundling up into a big ball that doesn't get dry on the inside.
The timer is a little annoying in that it doesn't move, so you don't know how much time is left by looking at it, and after your load finishes you need to turn the dial back to 0 before turning the dial to the setting you want.
This dryer get the job done, the first loads were not too loud but now it has a loud rattling if it spins clockwise (might be a loose part) and I cant return the item for a refund because I don't have the box anymore. Drying clothes on the "Standard" mode will dry your clothes to where the are still a little damp, but I found doing the 60 minutes setting will dry everything without issue. Overall I am pretty happy with it, except for the rattling noise.
