So i've had the Fie for a couple of months... The whole time I've had it, I've had to reboot about 3-4 times a day! Tried everything 2.4 - 5ghz and both worked the same - poorly...If I could only connect by ethernet? The newest Fire no longer has an ethernet port, so that's out.
Back-up I ALWAYS have an issue with WiFi because I live in Apt. complex and am surrounded by WiFi and everything has an issue with signals being interfered with... I know I know, 5ghz is supposed to be better... it's not.
So I plugged this in, and immediately connect to the internet and don't have to reboot 4-5 times a day... just plug it in, plug in Fire stick, and router gives it an IP, and boom! I'm online and not struggling with WiFi working when it wants to. No configuring, just plug in the network cable, plug in power, plug in the FIre, that's it.
I would be pissed if it didn't work, it's just an adapter, I really can't see why Amazon just didn't include a Ethernet plug in the Fire Stick, Puzzles me. My 1st generation Amazon Fire which is still working has a built in Ethernet plug, not everyone has a great wireless system, Amazon should have thought of this in the first place.
This product really works. I usually don't write these goofy reviews but I'm thinking this might help somebody. For a long time I was frustrated with having to use wi-fi with the firestick because of buffering issues. Buffering while watching a movie is like getting a haircut and the barber stops just to start talking about sports. So I got nervous when I first tried it with my 1st generation firestick and it didn't work. So word to the wise it isn't compatible with the 1st generation firesticks. However I do have another firestick which is a 2nd generation and it worked like a charm! I was able to use a 75 foot ethernet cable from the firestick in my bedroom to the modem in the middle of the house in the kitchen. Its working great. So if anybody is wondering, stop wondering if you want a stable connection with your firestick but just remember, 2nd generation and up!
Earlier this year I purchased three fire sticks for my home TVs so I could give cable the boot. The fire sticks would pop up errors practically every day. Depending on what app I was using would dictate what error message would pop up. Long story short it was wireless congestion. This device was a God send. As soon as you connect the device to your fire stick it disables the wireless connection so no configuration required. (It will not work with first generation fire sticks so don't waste your time trying.) Since switching to a direct wired connection to my cable modem, I haven't seen so much as a hiccup from the fire sticks. To be honest, the fire stick needs to be redesigned. A direct wired connection should be part of the design period. Just like the design of the original fire TV.
No more buffering! This adapter is worth every penny and more. I would recommend this adapter for anyone who has buffering issues.

Description
Have this installed on two HD TV's and love its ease of use. Installation was simple after discovering which HDMI slot to use for best pictures. Did use Amazon to help with the installation of the first unit and they were great to work with
The Amazon Ethernet adapter came in excellent condition. I was amazed at how easy it was to set up the device because all I did was just plug-n-play. The internet connection was more stable and less loss of connection when using the Firestick. I highly recommend this product because of the great quality, low price, and ease of use.
Highly recommend this product to anyone with a fire stick or fire tv. Gives you a very dependable connection over wifi. I have verizion fios and after you add a few devices it slows the connection. If you get this make sure you you have a cat 6 cable at the very least.
Check the attached picture on how to affix the fire TV and the adapter to the TV with duck tape. This is a compact adapter for fire TV. It can easily be setup by any novice. After I plugged the adapter into my TV, I received higher download and upload speed in internet speed test. This serves the purpose. I wish Amazon could put the Ethernet option built-in the fire TV as default. I think it is a business strategy by Amazon's planners. They researched and analyzed and finally decided for an Ethernet less fire TV device so that customers are forced to buy this nice adapter to enjoy lag free streaming. Bravo Amazon!
My fire TV stick was working fine when I had a 5 Ghz modem but I had to replace it an old 2.4 Ghz modem recently. After that it was very frustrating experience - Fire tv stick was getting disconnected frequently. All other equipment in my home expect Fire TV stick was working fine. I did some search online and finally I came across this Ethernet Adapter. Since mine is a Second Generation Fire Stick, this works like a charm.
