Okay, I am changing my review because AKDY was so quick to get back to me with my issues and solved my problems completely. Our control panel was not aligned correctly. So, we loosened the screws in the back of the mechanism using a flashlight to see and realigned it. No big deal. Then, the instructions said we would have more buttons to set the clock but we didn't and we couldn't figure out how to set the clock. I contacted AKDY through Amazon and they responded in minutes with instructions. You hold the power button down and the hour will blink then press + or - to set the hour. Then, press and hold the power button again and the minute will blink (you may need to play with it a bit ours didn't blink the first time). Once the minutes are blinking, then press the + or - buttons to set the minutes. And, it is good. The fan is loud on the most powerful setting but I figure I will use that only when I burn something (which will not be often - fingers crossed). Anyway, very happy with the product and CUSTOMER SERVICE, which is so rare these days. HIGHLY RECOMMENDe
Range hood looks good and complements our kitchen redo. There are a few complaints:
1. I had to cut my chimney's to make them fit. The weld on the corner holding it together as a box shape was really thin and broke leaving me with one worthless bent piece of stainless steel. Fortunately i had cut them almost perfectly in half so i was able to use the other piece instead.
2. The corner where that same weld is made was not polished well. So you end up with 3 well polished corners and one that was sanded up most likely to make the weld hold better.
3. I have one burned out led bulb. The manual tells you where to go to order new ones but still, it shouldnt be burned out right out of the package.
4. The lighting is extremely blue like the early cheap led x-mas lights. This is probably more of a personal preference but i like warm colored lighting and this certainly is not.
5. The manual is general spanning about 8 models of hoods. So general its virtually worthless. This point was made by a few other reviewers as well.
Otherwise the hood looks decent and works fine as well. I insulated the duct on mine hoping to reduce any noice from vibration and possibly to dampen some fan acoustics. Even on the highest setting i find i can have a conversation with someone just fine. Good hood for the money.
I purchased this in August 2013 for my home remodel. I really liked the idea of a glass island hood so that it didn't break up the space, but I didn't love the curved ones that everyone seems to have. This more modern take on the curved hood really did fit the bill. The horizontal fan piece is very thin so the glass feels like its floating and the lines really complimented my gas range.
The controls are very easy to figure out and it really sucks air without a lot of noise. I had mine vented outside because I cook quite a bit.
I'd buy it again in a minute.
This range hood was gorgeous! I was concerned about ordering this due to some reviewers noting a misaligned display and dents. Our unit arrived in tact and it looked sturdy. Don’t let those review detract you. We would have loved to keep it, but it was just too big for our space. I wish they made this in 30” I’d buy it in a heart beat. Range hoods are expensive people. You can’t expect $500 quality out of a unit that is priced at less than $300.

Nice look and casts a great light. Fan on low is very quiet and even on full throttle it is still quieter than our old one
