Wahoo ELEMNT Mini Bike Computer

Wahoo ELEMNT Mini Bike Computer

Wahoo ELEMNT Mini Bike Computer

I have several bikes, and the MINI has taken up permanent residence on my CX bike, where I generally just need speed, time, and heart rate (I use a Wahoo TICKR X). This thing is stupidly easy to set up, and just as customizable as its more fully-featured cousins (ELMNT/BOLT). Its ease of use and unobtrusiveness on the bars make it a winner in my book – sometimes simpler is just better. Plus, the battery life on the MINI is insane – been riding with mine since August, and it's still at 80%.

Addressing some of the other feedback around this unit, I totally understand the argument that running Strava on your phone would get you the same end result (the route loaded to Strava once completed), but you'd miss out on having speed/time/HR directly in front of you, in addition to call/text notifications which can be handy if they're urgent. Plus, Wahoo's LiveTrack feature comes standard with the companion app – Strava's comparable Beacon feature is available to Premium members only. Also, I keep the Wahoo companion app regularly updated, so I haven't experienced many of the freezing issues reported by others. All told, I'd say it's a great product that's certainly best for a narrower set of use-cases, but for the price, it's tough to beat.

I was looking for an inexpensive way to connect my bike attached to my trainer so I can track my indoor cycling workouts. I also wanted to have the ability to sync that data to Strava or Apple Health. Upon arrival and set up, I found that not only can it sync to Strava, it also has Apple Health. I could not find anywhere on their site that it syncs with Apple Health which was an added bonus. However, the only downside is the beacon that goes in the wheel had a dead battery. It took about ten minutes worth of sync attempts to try replacing the battery. Sure enough it was a dead battery. After that it was easy setup.

Only feedback I have is that maybe put a plastic strip in the beacon to keep it from accidentally being turned on while in transit to it's new owner.

This bike computer is okay. It does get randomly buggy and it just reset start a million times on a bike ride that I did. Sometimes it has trouble connecting to my sensors(Speed and heart rate). Overall it's a upgrade from my last bike computer but it still need a little work software wise to get ride of the bugs.

Pros:
Price
Usage
Size

Cons:
Software
Bluetooth
Wahoo only sensors

I got this for my wife to replace an old wired bike computer. The biggest issue we ran into was that you need to make sure location services for the ELEMNT MINI app are enabled if you want to upload complete ride data to Strava or Map My Fitness. The Wahoo ELEMNT MINI does not have its own GPS, but relies on the GPS of the phone to collect location data. And to that point, you have to make sure the Blue Tooth icon shows up on the unit prior to starting a ride or the data will be incomplete.

I wanted a inexpensive simple bike computer. I read all the bad reviews but I can honestly say this a s great little computer. Just take your time and set it up through the app which has automatic updates. I like it and might also but the new Wahoo Bolt

Description

Small, simple, and super powerful - the element mini is the perfect sensor based bike computer from the company that has reinvented the way you interact with your bike computer. Provides accurate speed, distance and time as a standalone computer or pair with your phone for enhanced features such as GPS tracking.

The Wahoo ELMNT Mini was the perfect choice; I did not need a GPS with guidance, but rather a bicycle computer that could give all relevant information such as speed, time, cadence etc...
Connects smoothly to your phone (I use an iPhone) and it has been worry-free so far.
I recommend you get the extra cadence sensor.

This computer is exactly what I was looking for. Relatively inexpensive cycling computer that had some connectivity. The display is flexible to set up and provides basic metrics for my rides. I added a heart rate monitor and Cadence Sensor from whaoo and they work well. If you want all the bells and whistles this is not the computer for you.

Great product. Remember, you must always have it connected to your phone. Also, remember to turn off the app before getting into car and driving somewhere.

Great Bike computer for the price. ~300 hours of battery life. Pairing to the phone can be a little tricky but after that it's great.

This computer does everything I need as I am a beginning cyclist. I recommend buying the cadence sensor along with the speed sensor it already comes with
