Recently, after much research online I purchased a new electric Speed Queen dryer. I did see some negative reviews for the dryer but because I have the washer which is exceptional I felt confident in making a purchase on line, and no I am not a speed queen employee and wasn't paid for my review. The heat settings are more than adequate for my laundry needs. I like the sensor dry with max dry for heavy items, more dry for medium weight and less dry for lighter items like sheets etc. The owners manual indicates the type and mix of clothes that work best with sensor dry. It comes with a permanent press cycle as well as time drying, a cycle for every drying need. I can see how the sensor dry could save save some money by not over drying clothes once one becomes familiar with how the sensor works. I changed the door direction following the directions in the owners manual, and had no problem switching it to the other side. I found the dryer to be exceptionally quiet compared to other dryers I have owned. It doesn't steam, come in fancy colors, or connect to the internet if those items are important you may want to keep looking. It doesn't come with an end of cycle signal which I don't miss anyway.... I never liked the sound of a truck horn going off in the house and giving me a near heart attack every time the clothes were done sooo no, I don't miss it. I also like the fact it is made in the USA and made by a company that manufactures heavy duty laundry equipment for laundromats and also for residential users. Hopefully, it will last a long time, it seems heavily built as I installed it myself and it is not flimsy or light weight. I am pleased with my purchase and have found my experience so far to be a positive one. I would recommend it.
I purchased this dryer as a companion to a washer of the same style. I love the dryer. It has a large capacity and includes several energy-saving settings. It is very attractive, and as dryers go, it is reasonably quiet. Very happy with the purchase.
Really love the no frills. Great basic machine and does everything we want it to. The seller was also very good to work with.
Very nice dryer.setup was a snap. No problem delivery.
Extremely quiet and does an exceptional job. I rated it a 4 because it should have a bell at the end of the cycle. When a dryer is noisy it doesn't matter you know when it stops. This one is so quiet if you are in the back of the house you don't know when it is finished.

I got the washer and dryer set and I actually enjoy doing my laundry now. This dryer works so well. I'm completely happy with it. And it's made so well. Good quality parts.
Fantastic Quality laundry equipment. If you want something that is going to last...Speed Queen is the brand. Everything else is Chinese junk made to break.
I love this machine! It's tough, can wash allot of clothes and it's fast! Well worth the purchase.
For 9 years I owned a Fisher and Paykel top load dryer. It was my dream machine. It died recently and i was on the hunt for a rrliable top loader. There are NO top loading dryers anymore, so now Im left with tge reliability search. I live in Maytag country (big plant in town, employee disvounts everywhere) so I sta rted there. Found that in nearly every brand people either loved them or hated them. It almost seems as if reliability depends on what day of the week and what assembly crew you are lucky or unlucky enough to draw. So i found a Fisher and Paykel dealer to ask about the feasibility of repairing my top loader. They completely understood my desire to keep my FP, both the repair tech and owner had the same dryer for their wives (although they had already had to replace them). I complained about the love it or hate it reviews of nearly ever other brand and said after having my FP so long I didnt want to go back to replacing equipment every few years. Thats when I was introduced to Speed Queen residential machines. They proudly build these American made machines to last 25 years and they come with a standard 7 year warranty! No one else does that! Now there are no trendy colors, no blue tooth controls, and no talking to you (my FP had tones for problems with the load and a cute signal my load was done). There are three models and i wanted the delayed start feature so i picked the top of the line model, still with a full 7 yr warranty on the elecrtronic control board! bought the dryer. They delivered the next day and after a week I no longer miss my FP, except for the top load feature of course. This dryer capacity is huge, much bigger than my old dryer.. when you start it the display shows time it takes for the cycle you sed lect. For those dependent on a buzzer, you simply note the length of your selected cycle and look at the time! This beast gets the job done and i love, love ,love the simple design of the lint trap. Its front and center , no sliding parts to let lint get deep into your machine, and is sinmple to clean ( i take the used dryer sheet from the load and swipe the trap out). Its alread a habit to do this every time! My FP had a bucket to empty, but after several years we had to disassemble the collector to deep clean lint that slipped through the self cleaning trap. And i still remember nightmares of the lint sheets peeling off those slide out screens on the top of my early dryers when you tried to remove them after forgetting a couple of times! I feel confident i picked a good dryer and I plan on replacing my FP washer with a Speed Queen very soon. .a big load is dry in 67 minutes and i have readjusted to emptying the dried clothes into a basket for folding. As a side note, any possible required warranty service will be provided by the local dealer who delivered it. No lengthy process to get a repair!
