This is a great screen protector, but the one thing it's lacking is any set of decent instructions, so I can imagine a lot of frustration it has caused for many purchasers who don't get a good result with it. I'll describe how to put it on, in steps, and then write my thoughts about it.
STEP ONE:
First, clean your screen very carefully with the included microfiber cloth and make sure you are in a dust-free area (and that Fluffy your cat is nowhere nearby). You'll want to be in a room that doesn't have any fans going and very little air circulation. If your screen has a lot of fingerprints on it, get a bigger lint free cloth (T-shirt material works well) and really get it clean. Look at it from different angles to make sure you get every bit of dust off. Have some Scotch tape on hand to pick off any, if any lands on your screen during installation.
STEP TWO;
Line up the screen protector so that the little hole for the camera is in the right location. Make sure the stickers for tabs one and two are facing DOWN. The sticker for tab 3 will be facing up. Without touching your screen yet with the protector, lift up tab one and peel off the protective layer to expose the adhesive. Now gently place the TOP EDGE of the protector onto the corresponding part of your tablet. As you start to allow it to stick, very slowly allow more and more of the protector to touch the actual screen. If at any time you start to get a bubble, STOP, lift it back up a tiny bit, and proceed again, bubble free. You can also push bubbles out of the leading edge as you slowly allow the adhesive contact with the screen surface.
NOTE: If at any time a piece of lint falls onto the screen while you are installing it, just lift it off with tape. I recommend having a few pieces of tape ready on the edge of a desk or table.
STEP THREE:
Look for tab 2. DO NOT PEEL it all at once!! Slowly, as you unpeel it, do the same as you did for the previous step. Just push the adhesive down slowly, bit by bit, onto the screen and backup for any bubbles. Backing up a little bit will not affect the adhesive. :-)
STEP FOUR:
Push out any last bubbles that might be on the last edge and then lift tab 3 and unpeel completely all at once (no need to go slow). You should now have a fairly bubble-free surface. Any bubbles on the edge may disappear after a little bit of time, as will (potentially) any really tiny ones on the rest of the surface.
I did all of the above and only ended up with a TINY bubble on one of the edges that isn't even on the screen but is right on the edge of the device itself. The rest is totally bubble free.
The protector feels very smooth, but not as glassy as the original screen. It doesn't occlude the screen at all (I got the clear version) and looks crystal clear. It doesn't affect touch sensitivity at all. This is a great protector if you are careful when installing it. :-)
Please note: I purchased the protector for the new, smaller Fire (49.99 model). This is the same protector, only in a different size. You can see that my purchase is verified if you click on my username and look at the review for that particular model of the Fire. :-) I just am trying to be helpful by posting this review here as well (for this size), because I know it's frustrating to not have instructions, and also because I think it's a good screen protector material-wise/brand wise/design wise).
Screen protector was very easy to install and I had zero issues with it. It was the one Amazon recommended for the tablet, I just wish I would have read the details over again, I thought I was buying the tempered glass protector and turns out this one is a screen protector but only an anti glare protector. It does help with finger smudges and smears though and very easy to clean off. You get what you pay for that's for sure. I still want to invest in the tempered glass though for better protection and the fact I have an extra screen protector with no use now. It comes with two and the first one went on without a hitch, very easy, do now I have an extra one with no use. Waste of money! Read the fine print please and reviews before you buy it!!!
I have applied numerous large and small screen protectors over the years and have always found them to be difficult. It is nearly impossible to apply one that is completely dust and bubble free. I bought this package of 2 for 2 Amazon Fires in our house. They should include a practice one because the first one is not so great and the second one is pretty good. I bought the anti-glare ones because the first time I used the Amazon Fire on a plane with the window in my row shut there was a lot of glare making it difficult to watch the movie.
Still love this product. This is the third set I've bought. It goes on seconds with minimal bubbles, if any. The only downside is that the screen protector will develop scratches and other mars over time, so you need to remove it (easy to do) and use a new one. I don't mind that, especially considering the cheap price for 2 protectors. It absolutely protects the screen from scratches, though.
This worked perfectly first shot. I've tried the NuPro on the 6" and ended up throwing all three films away in frustration. But this one worked well. Fit well with a bit of "wiggle" room to make application easier. Didn't grab as much dust, actually none that I can see. It took three or four tries of partially lifting the film and relaying it smoothly, but, as I said, it worked great first shot.

Clear and protects the screen well. It works best with a very clean or new HD 8. You have to be patient and not hurry while applying. It does get bubbles fairly easy but if you follow what others have post about bubble free installation it can happen. If you want fast and easy maybe try some other product but if you are patient and can work slowly the results are good and NuPro protects very well.
I don't care what I do to remove particles from my screen I still get stuff on it but the screen cover still went on easily. Well pretty easily. I did have to remove it a couple of times to line up the holes to match up to the camera lens etc. The touch works fine with it on. I don't see how it is supposed to prevent glass breakage though. It's pretty thin. If I drop my phone then I'll change my eating depending on what happens.
update......Amazon customer service was able to "re-boot" my Kindle. If this happens to you, where it just DIES for no reason, press the ON button and hold and hold and hold (i mean up to a full minute or more) until you see Kindle appear on the screen. i was told by someone else this happens when the unit needs to receive an update. if that is true, how about sending a prompt or message that it needs this....the screen is beautiful, large, and downloads faster than my older kindle. the larger storage is great too. make sure when you order a case you get the right one...the 2016 model. i upped my review from 1 star to 4. i would give it 5 but not happy about the blip in being able to use it.
Covers lens and fits very nicely. Better than the ones I had for my previous Fires. Okay here it is 1/8/2016 and the lighting on it flickers from dim to regular frequently and at times it just shuts down and takes several times to get to come back on. I am beginning to wonder about it. The Alexa showed up one day and that was the last day. I can get it no more. What is the deal. I need to change my starts from 5 to maybe a 2 or 1. Hmmm?
Never seem to apply these things totally right the 1st time applied. But am getting it down more and more, so as far as this particular item, I am pleasantly happy with them. Appreciate fast Prime service came in excellent shape also. All's well with entire process so thankyou amazon.
Product as described and appears to be doing the job right on my tablet would buy again when needed.
