So I tried another wireless security camera set before I tried night owl and unfortunately had to go through the huge hassle of removing another set and sealant I used to install a new set, the issue I had with the previous set was getting a decent signal from the rear camera I mounted on the 2nd floor & the NVR is located in the front of the house 1st floor. Well everything is set up now and running great! I did have a similar problem with this system as far as the 2nd floor rear camera getting a weaker signal but not as severe, the signal is 3 bars out of 4 which slightly takes away from the quality the camera records and displays at so I used the wired 6 foot antenna and hooked it up to the camera outside & sat the antenna on a dresser on the 2nd floor & the camera gets a much stronger signal now always displaying decent quality with -1 bar - full bars & there is never a missed second or drop out which is why I really like this set, I also want to note that the rear 2nd floor camera has a brick wall in between the home and the camera, I also have a camera mounted in the front of the house beyond a brick wall but that gets a full signal and is very clear just like the one located inside the home. I still occasionally get -1 bar on the signal leading to a slightly reduced quality on the 2nd floor rear camera but it never cuts out or misses a second. The NVR is packed with features and the mobile app is convenient and I love being able to monitor my home remotely while at work, the motion detection has a lot of customization which is nice since you can choose which areas to detect the motion & the sensitivity, also you can fiddle with the channel the wireless system operates on which may help the signal but I have not had time to get into that yet. I am very glad they included the 1 wired antenna so I could get the great picture I am getting on the 2nd floor rear camera because without it the signal was nearly poor quality, you may want to check the signal before sealing around the cameras to see if you may need to also use a wired antenna that is positioned inside but hooked into the outside camera, I did find they are sold on Amazon in case you need more then the 1 included with this set.
The cameras are already synced with the NVR so there is no customization needed on the cameras, all you have to do is boot them up and you are good to go! The night vision is okay and easy enough to distinguish a face and figure of something but not from too far away. Overall I am satisfied with the cameras, the attached pictures are night time and it is very dark in the rear pictures, daytime video is very clear! I am attaching a picture of the motion activated rear camera earlier this morning, it is very clear!
I was concerned about purchasing system after reading reviews. I had a home consultant come out and he advised upgrading my Wi-Fi. Did that ordered the system, had to reset the cameras. (I did hold for 40 minutes til tech support got on with me walked me through it. Everything has worked great since. Great clarity phone app works great and I am pleased with the purchase.
Easy to install and works well. Sometimes I have a problem connecting using the mobile app but for the most part it does what you expect. I especially like the fact that the device stores video. I was particularly impressed with the night vision which actually works better than I expected!
The only thing I would recommend is buying a couple additional cameras.
Very nice. Works good. Wish they had power supply extensions so I don’t have to run regular extension cords. 9’ not long enough.
The onscreen keyboard is really my only complaint. It's difficult to use with the mouse as I don't have the NVR in the best location to use the mouse effectively. I could not get a USB keyboard to work with the NVR. Other than that, I've always liked NightOwl products. The cameras have a great wide angle view and the intercom system is great. The mobile app looks funky in portrait mode, but looks great in landscape.

Absolutely the best purchase I have made thru Amazon. This system works perfectly. I would not hesitate to recommend this item to anyone. Easy to install and very user friendly.
I bought this to replace an earlier system. I had a little trouble getting it set up to record properly, which was handled easily through a few chat sessions and a phone call. One camera came with a damaged adjustment screw. A replacement was sent and return label for UPS emailed to me. I set the system up connected directly to a flat screen TV and WiFi router. I did need to use the WiFi extension antenna for one camera some distance away, to monitor the back gate entry to the property.
The picture is good day and night, and real time, on the TV. Access by both tablet and desktop computer, is available for live view at a lower frame rate, but still good quality. Recordings are assessable from the main system and both tablet and desktop.
I set this up as a true security system, not as a real time monitor system. Still a live view is easily assessable on the flat screen TV. I have a separate live view, motion activated camera for the front door.
