Light Rhapsody Alexa Voice Control Indoor Holiday String Lights, Standard (C9), Works with Alexa

Still quite buggy- great concept- nice bulbs- beautiful colors, but the app needs a lot of work.
The audible help in the app says "Tell LIght Rhapsody to set the effect"
But the written help says to "ask"..... if you use "tell" it does not work.
It is VERY particular on the phrasing- get the sentence JUST right and it will work-
HOWEVER, once you set an effect like Sparkle, glimmer, starry night etc... it is impossible to set it back to "Steady".

First, I have to say that mini is quite the misnomer for these bulbs. They are probably 3-4 times the size of what I would consider to be normal sized Christmas tree lights. I can't imagine how big the next size up would be. I see a lot of reviews about the lights not answering commands. I actually think the lights work just fine as long as you read the exact command as listed in the directions. It can be a mouthful, and I wish there were an app as well. Though, it says you can say "Ask light rhapsody" or "Tell light rhapsody," I have better luck with the ask command. The blinking to the music while playing through Amazon music is nice. Though, I made a holiday playlist on Amazon music, using Amazon music songs only, and it will not blink to the music when I play the playlist. But, oddly enough, some of the same songs came on when I asked Alexa for instrumental holiday music. Case in point was a song by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The lights blinked when it randomly came on after I asked for instrumental holiday music, but it did not blink when the same song played in my playlist. So, that's odd. Some of the time Alexa doesn't seem to know what to do when I ask for certain things, but she does usually get it in the end. Mostly, I've set the color to multicolor and to red and green. I've also tried out some of the themes. The Thanksgiving, Halloween, and Easter themes all worked as did the Chrismas Light Show. I really like the Christmas Light Show theme. Just a note though that it specifically says that that one cannot be altered. I can see why as the lights race front to back and back to front, blink at different speeds, and do a lot of different things. So, the effects, such as glimmer, will not work with the Christmas Light Show. You also cannot use beat detection with Christmas Light Show. I found this out the hard way as it was the default after the lights paired to my echo. So, I couldn't get beat detection to work, and that was why. After I changed it to a different setting of just multi-color, the beat detection worked fine. Of course, if you are using beat detection, you cannot use other effects, such as the glimmer, because the beat of the music will take precedence. Yes, it can be annoying when Alexa doesn't seem to know what to do. But, I've gotten most of the commands to work. I haven't tried all of the colors, but I can say that the multi-color, red and green, and the themes (Chistmas Light Show, Easter, etc) all work. I don't have the lights or directions with me as I write this review. But, I also tried out some purple and blue colors. I forget the specific names for them, maybe royal blue and violet???? The beat detection is also great.

So, here’s the deal. I bought three sets of lights from Amazon. The first set seemed to work but it took a long time to pair. It paired once and seemed to work, but after we unpaired it, it never really worked again. I was disappointed, and sent it back. The next two work. One was easy to pair, the other a little trickier. Anyway, both are paired, and follow commands. They are great. I can see how people are upset and ripped the lights here, but now that my two sets of lights work, I am happy.

It takes a while to figure out how to set up these lights. The instructions on how to set them up are rather poor. In addition to that problem you must be exact about your phrasing of the commands to Alexa to control the lights. Close is not good enough.
Once you get them set up and you learn how to say the commands, they work well. I really like the Starry Night effect with the gold color.

Bought 2 strings and I love the lights, they make a great light show but the communication with Alexa is very frustrating. I actually find myself cursing at her...and about Christmas lights! Doesn't seem right. The other more minor complaint is that they are very heavy. All that said, I would still buy them again.

Enjoying them greatly. There has been a few times Alexa didn't understand my request but overall they work week. My 6 year old daughter can now tell Alexa what color she wants. Usually pink. Pictured with Rainbow Wave on.

I love it... I tested it, and it worked nicely; even with Amazon Music... I was concerned after seeing some of the not so favorable reviews; but I've got to say I'm happy with our purchase. Still have to place it on the Christmas Tree. 🎄🎄 Looking forward.

Love these lights. Wish I had ordered 2 of them. And they dance to music from Amazon Music store. Was frustrating linking up to the dot. But it finally connected and works great.

No issues. Lights paired fine. Good response to Alexa commands. Using an Echo 2nd Gen with light controller about 10 feet from Echo device.

Great product but some problems with voice command. Alexa tends to ignore commands.
