Kindle Paperwhite Skin Kit/Decal - Dragonling - Jasmine Becket-Griffith

I was hesitant to take the plunge in even getting an eReader, as I can't imagine not having my "Books". (So many of you out there know what I am talking about!) So while giving the Kindle a chance, I particularly liked the design of so many old books on a shelf. The candles are bright enough against the dull coloring of the books to almost stand out and look like they're actually glowing. It reminds me of the library in Hogwarts, or some spooky old library in a haunted house. As horror is my favorite genre, I found it appropriate to set the mood when I sit down to read. It also reminds me how valuable paper books are, and while brick and mortar bookstores may fall by the wayside eventually (think drive-in movies...oh the nostalgia!) I may eventually create my own cozy reading nook at home just like this with all the old "real" books I do have. I will never get rid of my books!

When I received this I felt kinda silly for having bought a decal.

Installation was very easy and I got to tell you I have a hard time doing these sort of stuff.

What I got afterwards is a Kindle I can call mine. Very few people personalize their Kindles besides a cover, and most of them choose protection (I have the Amazon official cover) which basically makes it very bland. Since I keep it in the cover, only the front decal is visible, which obviously makes it stand a little less. Yet you can always notice people glancing to see what makes your Kindle different, even it being a "simple" decal.

And in a place where many people have Kindles, having yours easy to notice is always a plus.

I bought two of these - this design for my paperwhite and the library design for my husband's (as a surprise). My decal arrived first, and my husband did not enjoy the process of applying it. He grumbled while doing it and seemed less than satisfied with the result, and I began to worry that my surprise would backfire on me (hence the lost star). Fortunately, since he'd basically had a practice run with the product, he easily applied it to his paperwhite. Overall, the designs are great - I had fun picking them out and love the way they look on our kindles.

It's a vinyl decal like peel and stick application that comes on one sheet. It was easy to apply. It looks nice. It's exactly like the picture. It has been on my wife's kindle for probably a year now. She uses the reader several times a week and carries it through several hospitals. The cover looks new and is holding up well. I'm pleased and she is too. Happy wife; happy life.

I have bought skins before for other items, but this one seems like the best quality and easiest to apply. I love everything about it and will definitely buy another if this one wears out. I love my Kindle Paperwhite but the finger smudges along the edges annoyed me (my issue, not Kindle's). I like the library theme (after all...reading is what the Paperwhite is all about). It is actually a drawing/painting of a library, but the effect is fantastic! The candles really seem to give off a glow! It makes me think of Hogwart's Castle from Harry Potter (don't ask me why). You won't be sorry, so quit thinking about it...!

Amazon Kindle Skins from DecalGirl Features

This skin was a breeze to put on. I was a little worried as I'm used to a lot of fiddling with things like screen protectors, but aside from one small bobble with the front piece, it couldn't have gone on easier and there's not a single air bubble anywhere. It conforms so well it even sank slightly into the Amazon logo making the skin seem more like a custom case than a glorified sticker. It looks exactly like the picture with no color loss at all. I'd definitely recommend.

i accidentally stepped on my beloved Kindle 2nd generation.& had an excuse to step up to Kindle Fire. That meant my Skin on the back of 2nd gen was too small for Fire. They do great Skins, the designers are so creative & Skins are just so cool, well I didn't want to give up my Skin, so I framed it, works with colors & theme of bathroom & well, just looks totally cool. Friends always comment, "where did you get that neat
    picture "

Update 11/5/2018- still carry my Kindle everywhere, and this skin is still intact! There's one small spot where I think I absentmindedly picked at it while reading, but it's in perfect shape otherwise.

The decal went on surprisingly easy and it adds character to my kindle. I'm very satisfied with the purchase and bought two more for the kindle fires in my household. I was satisfied with all, no inconsistencies.

Really looks great! surprised on just how easy it applied to both front and back. Easier putting onto the back
just make sure to get the air pockets out before pressing down and sealing the decal. Light tough you don't want to stretch the material. Front when on just as well and it really dresses it up. I'm sorry I put it into a case since you will not be able to view it. Like em!

I never get these things on right the first time, but luckily they're pretty easy to peel off and reapply, as long as you're careful about stretching it out. These are good quality, so they don't stretch or tear easily. The library design on this is subdued and attractive. I don't think you need a decal to protect a kindle, so it's solely about aesthetics for me.
