Great scissor/blade. Easily cuts through thick cardboard and cutting out various shapes.
Works well where regular standard scissors were so awkward and cumbersome. Additionally, the roatary was so gentle on my hands- which remained pain free. While using regular scissors the pain was terribly as the scissors aggravated my arthritis In the worse way.
I actually find myself looking for projects to use the rotary because I’m so happy with this purchase and just how easy they are to use.
I highly recommend
This merchandise.
I'm new to roary cutting but this produst works really well for me. I've been using it for about two months and have cut a lot of fabric. Still using the original blade and have had no problems cutting fleece, flannel, cotton interlock and jersey. Just a heads up- every so often the blade will develop a little wobble that can effect control, just tighten the nut.
Good cutting tool designed for safe use. The blade retracts into the guard which I like. The blade turns smoothly with no catching or wobble to throw off the cut. I used this a lot until it got dull and moved to a more traditional knife for cutting out patterns in leather. I like a normal knife better because I can sharpen the knife instead of having to purchase relatively expensive replacement blades.
This rotary cutting tool was great at cutting long, smooth curves. It was easy to follow the line and takes minimal effort to cut the material as the pattern rotates so you have to cut at odd angles. I was very happy with the tool even though I no longer use it.
I needed this for our Halloween costumes this year. I needed to cut a spandex-like material and was having a really rough time with scissors. Using this made it much easier and helped me to cut a straight line. With the scissors, I was all over the place and it looked like a two year old had cut the material. It was easy enough for my 8 year old to use and do a good job.
I purchased this Fiskars 45mm Contour Rotary Cutter (195210-1001) and just received it. For the price I paid, $7.99 with free delivery from Amazon Prime, I am happy. It cuts well on a mat and is sharp. The retractable blade is a nice feature. The handle fits the hand and the guard keeps knuckles from getting rubbed too much. A product made from plastic can break, so I'll not treat it like one of my solid all metal tools, but yes it could be more hefty. Most products are made for use by the full range of males and females, so consider this and if you want want a Tim the Toolman device, keep looking. There is a cutter out there that you have to squeeze to engage the cutter, so maybe the guy with the beefy hands would prefer that tool to this one. I like it and feel it will perform more than adequately for my limited use.

I'm not a pro or even do a lot of cutting, but I like to make clothes for myself and its so much easier to use a rotary cutter than scissors. The blade is super sharp and it doesn't take a lot of effort to cut through any fabric. I also cut my finger open the first time I used it because I was too excited. I was just slicing away and suddenly the cutter gets caught on something and won't go any further and it took me a second to realize that it was my finger that stopped it in its tracks. Anyway, it's great that it's got a shield on top so you don't cut yourself if your hand slips and there's a quick release button on the side to bring the blade back up into the shield. The handle is pretty comfy, though I can't speak for those who use it for long periods of time. I'm glad for the investment! I feel like it might be small, but it makes a big difference in lessening the amount of work and thus shortening amount of time spent on a project. I probably should've gone with a slightly smaller blade, but the size is just fine for now.
I really really like this cutter and find that it works wonderfully on my self healing mat. I plan on using this cutter for art projects with my kids as well as sewing!
Used this rotary cutter the same day it arrived. I cut a lot of cotton fabrics for quIt's. Loved it. It is so lightweight, easy to hold and cut through several layers of cloth in one pass through. I would definitely recommend to anyone who cuts fabrics. I would definitely buy again if I ever need another.
I hate to admit it, but the first thing I cut was my finger. I had never used a rotary cutter and didn't realize it was so sharp. (I guess it has to be to do what it does.) It wasn't the cutter's fault that I reached and picked it up without locking it. I'm giving it four stars because it does require some getting used to. Now that I've learned to be more careful I am using it more. Just be sure to push the button in after you use it. It will raise the blade so you can't injure yourself.
I use a cutting mat in order to cut paper sheets into perfect squares. Origami demands precise dimensions and I find typical blade tools a bit awkward. I wanted to try a rotary tool. The "feel" is much more natural for me. I can achieve more accurate cuts now and it is far easier to ride the edge of a carpenter square. I always seemed to wander with the standard blade tools. I recommend for both comfort and performance 👍
