These are my favorite silicone bags. I have been using Blue Avocado products for 4+ years so I'm very familiar with their items. They have changed their silicone bags from their original issue but these ones are definitely living up to par with the original based on durability and reliability. They are easy to close, work well with all snacks, super simple to clean and don't have a bad plastic-y smell. I do not recommend using in your dishwasher - hand wash only and air dry! They will last longer!! Also, if you find the lock isn't closing, use a drip of corn/olive oil to lubricate it and it will be back to normal in seconds. This is a direct recommendation from the manufacturer.
These bags are great and just what I was looking for. They wash and keep well. I really like these instead of constantly using baggies that end up hurting animals and the environment. My only issue is that if you keep anything in the bag too long (3+ days) then the food starts to taste plastic-y. But otherwise it's a great product!
I bought this originally for my food because I want to be more environmentally friendly. I use these to bring my lunch to work or to store left over food or fresh vegetables. The zip seal works very well. It doesn't open by itself like some other zip seals do. Water doesn't leak out if you have any liquidy food. And, I recently found another use of these bags. I use these for my makeup bag for my purse. Because these are slim, it doesn't take much space in my purse at all (I refuse to use big purses, so sometimes not having enough space is a problem for me). My purse looks so organized and I have way more space than before. Also, because the zip seal works well, I don't have to worry about things fall out in my purse. I think these are good buys, you won't waste your money on these!
So far these bags have been pretty good - I meal prep for the week and have multiple snacks/sides per meal so I tend to go through a lot of disposable bags. I wanted to try these so that I could save money over time but also produce less waste.
These are pretty easy to clean, just need to remember to keep them open to fully dry out. They say they are leakproof but at least one of mine isnt sealed all the way so liquids can drip out. Not a huge deal for me because I am using these for things like baby carrots, sliced apples, nuts and berries, etc mostly dry items.
The locking mechanism is pretty secure, it holds the bag closed tightly. Because the material is considerably thicker than a disposable bag like a ziplock, it is a bit "stiffer" and also larger as there is about a 1cm lip of material around the edge so depending on how big your lunch box is you may need to account for a little extra space.
I have only handwashed them and it is as easy as washing anything else by hand.
Food has stayed fresh in the bags as well which is of course a plus.
I wish I could buy different selections of sizes more easily though.
This product is wonderful to help you kick the habit of single use plastics and save the world. Ziplocks are not durable, they break, the seal does not work very well. BUT these BlueAvocado bags are DURABLE, QUALITY, AND HOLD THEIR SEAL! I usually boil these bags in hot water to clean them, but sometimes I use soap and water in the bag, seal it, and shake it around to clean them. I am so glad to use these reusable bags instead of plastic ziplocks. I do not have any complaints about this item.

These bags are good for dry and wet foods. I use them to put snack in instead of plastic bags. They clean super easy. I just rinse them in the evening depending on what I had in them, then reuse them the next day. They are alittle stiff and strange in size, but its is just a different product than the plastic bags I am used to. They leave no odor on the food.
I'd recommend them if you're looking to cut down on your plastic use.
I love these bags. Easily the best reusable zip bags I’ve tried - and I’ve tried at least a dozen. The seal is super strong so things stay air tight. Easy to clean in the top rack of the dishwasher, just rinse them out first so nothing gets stuck in the crevices during the wash cycle.
These are seriously a MUST HAVE item for anyone who packs their lunch or snacks. They are very easy to use and clean (you just need to prop them up on something to dry so they don't collapse and mildew - I hang them over the corner of our drying rack) and hold almost anything! The larger bags will hold a sandwich and the smaller bags hold about a handful of snack, depending on the food. These are my second purchase of this brand of re-usable bags in years so they hold up very well!
I think I tricked my husband into using these! I just hid the disposable sandwich bags and he started using these. They are easy to clean and really tough. May buy another package just so we have enough for the week.
I was skeptical about this product, and im still not keen with it being made in china, but wow. They are completely leak proof. They are easy to wash and most easy to dry. but they keep everything in them fresh! food, candy, tea. I am not sure how I did not buy these sooner. Cannot rate them any higher!
