I was a little hesitant to purchase this freezer because of some negative reviews from customers that received their freezer with dents. I could not find a freezer at this price and size to be delivered free of charge from any other store. Since I would have to take a chance on delivery from any store I purchased this from, I decided to take a chance because of the great price. I also know that Amazon makes returns and replacements easy. Luckily, it arrived in perfect condition. I waited a day before plugging it in per the instructions. The ice trays I put in it last night are frozen. It seems quiet and I am happy that I can now shop for frozen food when it is on sale and not worry that I don't have enough freezer space in my small apartment freezer.
This chest freezer has been awesome. Our power was out for 7 hours a few weeks ago, and it was about 85 degrees outside. Our freezer runs in our garage, so I was worried all its contents would thaw. When I opened the freezer the next morning, everything was still frozen solid with no signs of thawing. It's a pretty compact size, which works great in our garage. It's also very cheap to run. Love it!
I am so glad I bought this. After years of cramming frozen stuff into my freezer and passing good sales due to lack of room, I am now content. This is a perfect size for a small family (there are just two of us). It uses little energy and freezes extremely well, keeps to temperature and absolutely maintains <32 degrees. the footprint is about the same as a washer or dryer, so it fits in a small space easily. Ours is in the basement. It arrived quickly in perfect condition. Have had it several months and no issues, no problems. I will say I noticed yesterday that frost is building up slightly on one wall, but I suspect that's normal. I strongly recommend this, especially at the price. It might qualify for your electric company's energy rebate, but I have't checked that out.
I bought this little freezer to put my personaltrainderdiet food in. A month's worth of their food fits in here with room to spare. Much better than trying to cram it all in my upright fridge/freezer. This investment in me was worth it. I've lost 31 lbs and this strategy worked well for me. I had tried the diet before w/o having a dedicated freezer and had ended up throwing away half the food and quitting. So, second time around, I made this investment and it worked. Despite other reviews saying there were issues w/ dents etc, mine was fine except for one very small dimple, I mean pimple sized dimple, on the side. This is very quiet, efficient, and I'm glad I bought it.

This is the 2nd unit I received from Amazon at no fault of Amazon. The first unit arrived with obvious dent on the front of the door - possible shipping damage. I spoke to Amazon Rep over the phone and they sent a replacement unit right away with the same 2-day shipping. After having the unit sit a full 24 hours in case of shipping movement, the system powered up with no hassles. The unit does sound a little bit louder than my previous failed freezer - a Haier 5Cu Ft. when in operation however appears to chill quite quickly. After running it on low (2 on the dial) with freezer pack, ice cube, and water freeze test it appears to be functional properly. IT is now set to the factory recommended 4 of 7 on the dial for standard operations. I will be and adding food to it for the real stress tests this weekend.
So far, no issues with this freezer. Like other reviews, this arrived with a dent in the front, which means little to me since I would probably have dented it anyways. It is indeed an RCA freezer instead of an Igloo, which I am slightly confused about, but I guess I am not mad about it since it still works fine and I got a good deal. I would say that, like most online purchases, you have to make your own mind up, but I feel it was a good purchase overall.
As family grew just needed more freezer room. This unit fits neatly in utility room right off our kitchen. Interior is sparse. There is a hanging basket. A self made by the box over the compressor and the rest is just a deep open space. May want to buy a few freezer storage boxes to use in it. As for cooling, it froze the box quickly, about an hour after plugging it in. Notice says it will cost about $2 a month in power.
One issue is unit was dropped in shipping. Front corner on compressor side was dropped. Left dent and bent screen over compressor. Works fine, not that noticeable & in adjacent room so we will live with it.
I use this chest freezer specifically for breast milk storage and it has been working great. Perfect size! It does come with a basket but I don’t use it.
First Freezer was in pefrect condition but did not work, second works but unfortunatly has a dent in the lid, am keeping one with dent rather than risk getting another and it not working at all.repackaging a freezer and sending back wasnt ideal.Will update review if any other problems happen.
