I like to dive headfirst into new technologies, this one only gave me an uneasy feeling because there was a camera inside of my house. The ultimate outcome was really not as bad as I thought it could be. First of all having packages delivered in our house is nice but not a necessity for I live. Having a smart lock has eliminated keys on my keychain and made it easier to get out of the house quicker with our four kids because we can keep the car running and lock the door with just touching the lock on the outside. Not only that when we get home the kids can run out and open the door without the keys. We have left the air conditioning repair people coming our house while we were gone and talk to them through the cloud camera. And the unintended benefit of the Cloud Cam in the 24 Hour Loop that records for free is that I have amazing moments of my kids and family recorded for download that we would never have been able to see. Overall very satisfied. I’m voice transcribing this a red light sorry for their not going back to fix it :-) :-)
Purchased this bundle some days ago, and I am very happy with it. Now, in order to avoid jams and malfunctioning you need to verify that your door is perfectly aligned with the frame. If it's not, you'll jam your lock the same way you usually need to "pull your door to lock the deadbolt" or "God, this deadbolt is hard to lock". Any minor "friction" that you feel when locking your deadbolt (which is caused by this misalignment) will jam any smart lock you buy, and you'll get a warning on your phone, leaving your door unlocked.
Paring with the amazon cloud cam edition was a breeze, and once your account is linked you'll start to get notifications. You can also set an auto-lock timer which is very useful.
Be advised that you don't need an extra hub to pair these together. (if you have the 1st gen Amazon Echo you'll know what I'm talking about). The amazon could cam already has a proprietary Zigbee link built in, and this acts as a hub to connect the lock. The cam then connects to your WiFi. Please note that it will only work with 2.4GHz band. It will not work on the faster 5Ghz (nor it needs to anyway).
Since the camera does not have a battery I've connected it to my UPS unit so in case of power failure, internet and security gear will keep working.
Night vision is just "okay". Try not to have any objects close to the camera lens, as the 'night vision light' will focus on them and everything else will appear dark. Try to mount it as high as you can on a corner. I bought some white conduit to conceal it.
I have yet to try the amazon in home delivery, which is a nice perk.
I love this smart lock and cloud cam! It makes it super convenient to have my Amazon deliveries left inside my door. I receive an alert that my package is about to be delivered and the cloud cam allows me to watch the delivery person as they open my front door and leave the box inside. The smart lock provides extra security to my home as I can receive alerts any time that the door is locked or unlocked. I can use the app to see the status of the door as well as to create access codes, and schedules for family, friends, etc to be able to unlock the door without the need for a key. I also never have to worry about being locked out of the house because I can just use my code to open the door. If I forget to lock my door, it will auto-lock itself after a short time. The camera is great so that I can see people entering my home and can even talk through the camera with them. Absolutely love it and highly recommend to all, especially Amazon Prime users!
With the exception of one minor irritation (more on that in a moment), this is great! I travel frequently for work and this keeps packages from piling up on the doorstep. Not every Amazon purchase is eligible for "in-home delivery" which kind of stinks, but this is a great service. It seems a little expensive for me to pay to benefit Amazon, but hey - I still think it was worth it.
Negatives: I have 100 Mb internet in the house, and other connected devices. But the lock sends me a lot of messages saying "it is offline" and has no internet connection. It still seems to work, but I receive a lot of these notices and they can be a pain the neck. Related to this, the mobile app needs work. It is slow to open and be usable. I would like to pull up in my car, hit a button, and have my door unlocked... but the app is still too clunky for that.
Bottom line: I ordered this the day it was available, and overall I am happy with the purchase. I look forward to updates that get it from 4-stars to 5!
100% love this system. I have an AirBnB, and I use this to be able to easily get new tenants set up, as well as getting access for the cleaning folks I use. Some key notes:
1) This allows you to easily unlock and lock the door from your app
2) You can set up guest accounts for permanent OR Temporary entry. For example, the code can run from 3pm on an Friday until 11am the next Monday. LOVE THIS!
3) This set has a key, which is a handy back up. I had one tenant that had issues getting in, so I simply told him where the hide a key was left (and unlocked the door another time for someone that he forgot to give the code to).
4) Great for getting Amazon deliveries so that Amazon places them IN your house. I can be gone for weeks, and have my packages inside where they're safe!
Been using this for 5 months now, and pushing it to its limits in terms of different set ups, etc. Extremely happy, and I'd recommend the system to anyone.

Cool product that has day to day usability when you aren't receiving Amazon orders inside deliveries. Camera performance is a bit slow despite the fact I have 150/150Mbs ISP service....could be the location in relation to the router. I had to work on the deadbolt to get it to work smoothly....Amazon home installation will not do any modifications or fine tuning. They basically install, check to make sure it can be accessed by the internet and leave promptly. Be prepared for that kind of service, guess why it's free. Overall very happy with the service and the products.
The Yale lock that I purchased with the Amazon In-Home Kit works pretty well. The lock features a touchscreen similar to a cell phone that wakes up when you touch it. In order to enter the passcode to open the door, you have to touch the screen first to wake it up. The screen is not reliably responsive and has to be touched several times in order to wake it up.
You can issue up to 100 different codes to people you want to grant access to your home. I gave codes to several people and most of them had a difficult time gaining entry. Not only is the screen reluctant to wake up when touched, but you have to touch the checkmark symbol after entering the code. That is rather unintuitive. It would be nice if the screen woke up immediately when touched and once the code was entered, the lock immediately unlocks, rather than needing the touch the checkmark symbol first.
I needed to replace my front door lock due too many lost keys. Really convenient to give temporary access to someone and one less key on my key ring. Lock works really well but does not have a lot of force. I had to adjust the kick plate and deepen the hole the bold goes into so it did not bind at all. There is a good chance you will need to do the same so if you are not handy with tools consider getting an installer. After that it has worked fine. Only other issue was occasionally the camera losses communication with the lock and I get a message but never had a problem with it not working.
Both are convenient to use. The lock in particular is sophisticated. I do issues with the camera losing the network a lot. The quality of the image is good.
Love this product (both the camera and lock separately!!!!). The Yale lock makes it so easy to access my home for guests but gives me the option the control it remotely. I allow my dog walker to come in only during certain hours. I can open the door when I'm being super lazy and don't want to go downstairs to let in guests haha! I love getting my Amazon packages delivered in my home. It's so convenient.
