I always had long, thick light brown hair, but this past January I got very sick with strep throat and had to take a harsh antiboitic to clear up the infection. A couple of weeks later my hair started falling out in clumps. So I went to the doctor and blood work came back great and was told I had developed Alopecia Areata. I didn't want to undergo the steroid shots and more side effects from medication hoping my hair would grow back. I was desperate for something so went to a salon in my area that specializes in hair thinning/restoration and wigs. I was devastated when the hair dresser put a synthetic wig on me. Human hair wigs cost thousands of dollars. Thankfully, the manager of the salon said she had a product that she believed would work for me as an alternative to the wig. I couldn't believe the instant difference this product made for me. It really is like magic! It washes out in the shower and is not permanent. The hairdresser stated to sprinkle it on clean, dry hair and pat it in with your fingers. I also bought the XFusion Spray that was recommended to set the powder. I can't begin to tell you the difference in the way I look and feel. Hair loss is so emotional. No different than losing any other part of our body. Since my hair is slowly growing back white due to the Alopecia I was told to buy the Gray color to blend in and looks so natural. I have my confidence back and don't have to worry about people staring or asking rude, intrusive questions about my hair loss. My heart goes out to all people who have lost their hair and know that this product is not a cure. However, it will help you not question your outer beauty and instead allow you to focus what's on the inside. That's the most important part of us anyway! Spread love and kindness everywhere you go.
I absolutely love this stuff and wish I would have found it sooner! I’ve been using it for about 2 years and no one has ever noticed. I’ve even gotten some friends and family members hooked, too. It’s so easy to apply and stays in place all day. I used to be extremely self conscious about my thin spots and would spend a lot of time strategically placing my hair to cover them up, and finish with loads of hairspray so my hair wouldn’t move. I mean, I wish I had all my natural hair, but this is a great alternative.
I like the product but the price has gone up $20 in the last month. Will have to consider an alternative!
(Read whole review)As far as hair fiber products go this is great. It blends well with my hair, it sticks well and fills in areas that are thinning. It does what it is supposed to do. But to be honest it's no better or worse than regular toppik, caboki, or probably any other hair fiber I've tried. What I want know is there anything in this stuff that may make my hair thin out worse, that goes for xfusion toppik and any other product that do this. My dad is bald and my hair has been thinning for a little over 2 years, I'm fighting the he'll out of it and I don't wanna lose more hair when I put this in my hair. Other than than that it does what I says it's gonna do, no itch, head irritation, all around solid product. 5 stars.
I love this product. As I age (I'm 44) my hair has thinned. I have naturally light blond hair but color it darker to add the illusion of thinker hair so I like the medium brown best. It also allows for great coverage of the blond/grayling regrowth in between coloring. There is a learning curve to applying to your hair, I tap the applicator directly on my scalp. I find if I shake it onto my hair it applies too much. Before and after photo attached.

Overall this product is great, I only have some minor complaints. As for my situation, my hair loss is class 2 or 3 (mild to borderline moderate) so basically I have some left even in the worst areas. I cut my hair short so the top of my head hair length is always between 3/4 inches up to 1 inch in length. I think having some hair left is almost a requirement in order to get this product to work best. I say that because if you have a spot that is 100% bald, and you spray/sprinkle this product on, then it does not look natural on your scalp, at least on mine it does not. I thought it looks a bit like shoe polish which is not the desired effect. But if your careful how you apply it then it really does a great job, looks natural, and makes existing hair look fuller. I found it works best with the spray applicator especially when you hold it about 6 inches (or more) away when you apply it. By the way, this stuff does make a mess on your sink and surrounding vanity area as mentioned in another review, I find myself using a tissue to clean up around my sink every day. Granted, I probably make it worse cause I hold it away from my head when I spray it. But even when I experimented with holding it close I still had some mess. I'm a fairly active person and this stuff never sweats off but I have noticed that it will thin out a bit the longer you exercise. If you have a long day with no opportunity for touch up then use a quick squirt of any hair spray, I found it works best if you hold the hair spay at least 6 inches away and so the mist of hair spay just kind of falls onto your head. If you spray it "point blank" the fibers don't looks as natural, at least for me. Anyways, great product, I cant live without it, while I focused on the negative they are very minor complaints. I have dark brown hair and tried both the medium brown and the dark brown. I think the dark brown is a better match (color wise) but its less forgiving than medium brown, meaning I have to be more careful (per the steps I mentioned above) or it looks unnatural.
I have never used anything like this before, so I didn't quite know what to expect. I wanted to make my hair look a little more full during my sisters wedding (I was a bridesmaid), so I decided to give it a shot. What's the worst that could happen, right? Well I was pleasantly surprised. It was actually a lot better than I expected. I got the "nozzle" that you can pick up for this, and after applying it where needed, I used hairspray to set it. And it stayed well. I was a hot summer wedding in the South, and it didn't shed or melt or run down my face with sweat (like I thought it would).
About a month later I decided to give it a fun test - just to see. Not trying to be "one of those people", but I do crossfit every day, and one morning (on a lark) I decided to put some in before my workout. And wouldn't you know, I didn't sweat it out. Didn't even come off on my towel while I was wiping sweat. I also don't wash my hair every day (it's naturally curly, so it gets too dried out and weird if I do), so I slept in it (nothing showed up on my pillow, so none came off that I could tell) and went again the next day, and it was all still there. It didn't come out until I actually washed it out. (I don't know if it's the product itself, or the fact that I "set" it with a little hairspray that makes it stay so well, but there you go.) So it'll hold for a couple of days, even through massive sweat! I haven't tried it on a rainy day yet though, but I figured that was some info to share.
I'm also surprised at how much is in here. This little container's going to last me a long time, that's for sure.
I had super low (somewhere south of hell) expectation for the XFusion hair fibers. I decided to sprinkle some on my palm and I wasn't impressed. I went ahead and sprinkled some on my problems, I almost made the mistake of over sprinkling but then I noticed I wasn't sure where to sprinkle gazooks it worked. Next step ask an eagle eyed observer (my sister) and she was surprised (told me to buy stock in the company)
The only challenge is buying the right hair color not to light not to dark but hey life isn't easy.
This is a fabulous product for both men and women. Just a little sprinkle fills in any small spots of missing hair.Another use is that It can also cover roots when waiting for a touch-up. X-Fusion thickens hair beautifully and if used correctly blends beautifully and never comes off on your clothing.A suggestion is to use it with a fine make-up brush if you cannot get it on the exact spot where it is needed by sprinkling from the container. One problem is that I was sent the incorrect color but I would never take off a star for that human error. When I asked for an exchange Amazon's site was" cooperative" but somehow they are sending the same incorrect shade again.I guess" talking" to a computer is not the best in cases like this. Since this is travel size is so inexpensive I ordered another and will gift the auburn I received to a red- headed friend. BTW great way to try different shades if you are not sure since the small containers are perfect to sample. In example- salt and pepper hair required light brown not grey even if your hair seems more salt than pepper. Purchasers with blonde highlighted hair can use light brown as well.
Like this product but out seemed to have changed down the line??? Not sure why they change it? It seems like all of this kind of product has The same issue, different and sometimes not until about mid container.
The last one I purchased I got to use some, not all of and appeared different then previously. Not consistent in quality..
At some points my hair seemed to fall out from it and sores appeared on my head?
